Cosmic Rose

Lisa Eldridge Cosmic Rose Elevated Glow Highlighter ($38.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a light, golden peach with ultra-fine pearl that gave it a soft, luminous sheen when left to set and dry down on skin. It wasn’t transfer-proof but fairly transfer-resistant, and it was key to let it set as this was how one achieved the “smoothing” effect that helped the product meld better with skin and appear reflective and glowing without being visibly shimmery.

The texture felt lightweight, thin, and a little watery, but it was still easy to work with on bare skin as well as applied on top of foundation. I would recommend using a small amount as it spread very readily, which helped it retain its sheerness (as marketed) but could make it apply to a larger area than desired. The intensity of the glow could be built up by adding a second layer. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.43 oz. - $88.37 Per Ounce

The formula is described as a "sheer, lightly tinted and skin adaptive base" with "small" pearls that give a "glowy and seamless" highlighting effect to skin. It is also supposed to have a "subtle skin tightening and smoothing effect." The intensity of the pearl can be built up per the brand.

It had a soft, luminous sheen that wasn't so dewy that it veered into oily territory and had fine pearl that illuminated without emphasizing skin texture. The effect could be intensified by layering more product on, as described. The pigmentation was sheer, as marketed, and buildable to more semi-sheer to medium coverage if desired.

To see the subtle smoothing effect, the product was best applied directly to bare skin, left to set (three minutes as advised by the brand), and then add-on base products as desired. I found that the formula was definitely more smoothing this way, though it never added to the texture of my skin, even when applied directly on top of foundation.

The consistency was thin, lightweight, and more watery, so application was easiest dabbing a bit on the back of my hand, and then using a fingertip or a stippling brush to pick up product and pat onto my skin. The product applied well over bare skin as well as over base products as it wasn't prone to lifting up foundation when I did it this way. If I applied directly from the doe-foot applicator over foundation, it seemed to over-apply product and be too wet, so it was harder to work with and tended to spread out to a larger area than I intended.

It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit on me.

Hi Karleen!

In the post, I mentioned it worked well on top of foundation, so yes, it did! No issues!

What a beautiful shade and finish, I liked the way that it looked on your skin Christine – not too shimmery and not too matte either.

Really beautiful glow, and I do love Lisa Eldridge, but I’m fairly set on getting Auric Selenite instead. So tough to decide, though!

I really liked the looks of that one. The one thing that deterred me since i don’t reach for liquid hl as often (i ordered LE but only have CT wand right now) was the size lol. Not sure if it would work over set face but if she came out with a mini I’d be more inclined to try.

It is more pearlescent than HFF – more intense. It can be used all over, but you’d use less of it!

How would you describe the effect or appearance up close compared to other liquid highlighters? For example, I just got a small size of the CoverFX in Moonlight. I love it, but you can definitely see shimmer particles on the skin with that product.
