Laura Mercier Gilded Garden Mosaic Shimmer Bloc Review, Pictures, Swatches
Laura Mercier’s Gilded Garden Collection debuted for the spring season with several fun, perfect-for-spring products. The collection included eyeshadows in Lilac, Marigold, Orchid, and Pink Tulip ($22.00 each); Stickgloss in Azalea and Tiger Lily ($20.00 each); and Lip Stains in English Rose and Hibiscus ($20.00 each); and the Gilded Garden Mosaic Shimmer Bloc ($38.00).
The Gilded Garden Mosaic Shimmer Bloc features a pretty flowery pattern in it, which just screams “SPRING!” to me. The two large flowers in a coral-pink and fuchsia-pink are slightly raised. They’re raised enough that I wasn’t able to swatch through to see if they go all the way through the powder. (But I’m hoping they do.)
This Shimmer Bloc is much like Bobbi Brown’s Shimmerbricks in the texture and finish–smooth, but still quite frosty. If you’re not a fan of noticeable shimmer/frost, then I’d definitely stay clear of this. If, however, you love Shimmerbricks, you’ll want to check out Laura Mercier’s Shimmer Blocs.
The overall color you get when swirling the entire Shimmer Bloc together is a almost neutral-but-slightly-cool, frosty pink. It can be used as a blusher or to highlight your favorite pink blushes.
Anyone else have this?

FUZKITTIE has it; she has some GREAT FOTDs wearing it.
Oh, that’s beautiful! Is it shimmer all the way through?
It is shimmer all the way through.
Yes, the shimmer is all the way through 😀
I have this, got it on Wednesday, but haven’t used it yet. I’m a big fan of Laura Mercier’s Shimmer Blocs, have all of them, and they are great. My favourite are the pink and orchid ones, but the peach and mosaic ones are lovely too. Less keen on the golden mosaic as it’s a bit too dark bronzy for my pale skin. I just had to have this new one too, it’s so pretty. Also got the Azalea stickgloss, which is lovely bright (but not too bright) pink. I love the eyeshadows too, but in the UK they cost
I was always drawn to them, but they can be too shimmery/frosty sometimes 🙁
I haven’t been able to check out the rest of the collection yet. I’ll have to check out Azalea!
Sorry bit late on the reply…this collection is just coming out in Australia now 🙂 I use the Golden Mosaic as a shimmery eyeshadow Quad and highlighter. It’s perfect for summer and they colours are pigmented and easy to lay on. Its a really multi-use item cos I use mine as eyeshadows, highlighter and a subtle summery bush.
Yay! Glad it made its way to you, Bernie!
I keep meaning to go take a look at this. It looks *so* pretty, but I’m thinking it’s too cool-toned for me… =/
It does seem to run a bit cool :/
WWWWWOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!
Like it? 😉
i’ve seen swatches of this. gorgeous!
Will you get one, Migzy?
I’ve seen this on the LM website but went to Spacenk (uk) and they didn’t have it out yet I wonder if it is out now? as I just love LM and love the look of this haven’t got any of her shimmer blocs but got Bobbi Brown one which I love but got the apricot one would love a pinky one this looks great wonder how much it is in the UK? anyone know? and when it is out?
It might be! I know it’s up on her site, too. I think it’s popping up in some stores now 🙂 UK should have it soon hopefully!
Personally – i think Laura Mercier is way overpriced for the quality they offer. I’ll stick with my Bobbi Brown
I’m blanking, but I thought the prices were similar!
LOVE the bloc!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you like it, Julia!
What do you guys mean by cool toned? it won’t look good on a olive complexion or something? I was planning on buying it after seeing it on the models tanned skin and feeling it suited her well…but now I am a little confused…Thanks for the swatches tho;0
