Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator, $26.00 (New, Permanent)
- Charming Pink Pearlescent pink
- Peach Glow Luminescent gold
Interesting shade expansion. Charming Pink is more pink than Ballerina, while Peach Glow is desaturated compared to Gilded Honey.
That said I’m surprised that they haven’t bake a lighter and deeper shade yet.
As soon as they pack them like a $26 product I will buy more of them. It’s outragous to offer such a good product in a Dollar Store packaging.
I agree that LG packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but the products are amazing!
To me packaging is not a deal breaker. I don’t really care about the packaging to much if the product is good. Unfortunately I’ve never tried anything from Laura Gellar before because I can only get it online in Canada, but I would still love to try these new highlighters and the original two shades.
If it’s a product I specifically want for travelling, then it needs to have decent enough packaging to protect it.
The packaging is what kept me from trying Laura Gellar for years. I agree it’s so cheap looking and completely unappealing. But I really love Ballerina, which I bought because of Christine’s review and other readers’ raves!
I have both Ballerina and Gilded Honey and love them. These are tempting.
Canadian misses out again 🙁
That pink looks promising.
I have Ballerina and Rosewater (blush) and I am not as enamored with them as I’d like to be, sadly. I find them a little stiff. Probably passing on these.
Peach Glow looks REALLY interesting! It almost reminds me if Colourpop Butterfly Beach highlighter, though, so I’ll wait on swatches to see if my instinct is correct.
Hmmm, I will reserve judgement until I see swatches!
I absolutely love Ballerina, but do agree with Magi the packaging is a big grimace at this price point. I will probably pick up Charming Pink.
crap..ulta only exclusive? Grrrrrrrr 🙁
They actually launched in a QVC set before, so I think Ulta might just be first to have it… hopefully.
seems to be the way with ‘exclusives’ sometimes.. they are temporary..eyeroll.. 😀 But that’s a good thing in many cases because it is usually just a source of frustration for the consumer.
Unfortunately most, if not all of LG’s face products are talc and/or silicone – ‘cones based, and those ingredients don’t work well on my skin. I used to buy them anyway to use once in a while because she does make a lot of great products, but I’ve stopped using them altogether. I’m happiest when my skin is clear!
Where highlighters are placed on the face, I could probably use it, but unless I see a stunning, unique shade, I’ll pass.
I’ll probably buy one…if I can decide between the two 🙂 I agree about her compacts needing an upgrade. I love my Bronze & Brighten in Fair, but, the product is no longer attached to the compact lol
I like the colors and concept but what type of brush do you use and when in the makeup routine do you apply them?
I use a stippling brush and apply it last on my face just before the setting spray.
You can use a fan brush or a smaller face brush such as the M501 from morphe and you apply them towards the end of your routine, usually after foundation and setting your face. I personally use it right after blush, and place it just above the blush. Hope I could help.
Thanks everyone..
I can’t wait for your reviews on these!!!! I have Ballerina bc of your reviews last year and I love it!
After getting so many duds from brands with gorgeous packaging–have been a little skeptical lately. Agreed that the packaging doesn’t draw the eye but I appreciate being able to see exactly what color I am grabbing. Have my eye on the pink.
I recently returned Gilded Honey .I didn’t like the color, formula or longevity. Although I have way too many highlighters Peach Glow might be right up my alley!
