In in love with Physician’s Formula 2 in 1 Eyeboosting Formula liner. It lines neatly, and while I’m not super sure if it boosts the eyelashes, it looks great and applies easily. 🙂

1. Revlon “Mauve it over” matte lipstick (tragically discontinued). The perfect nude for those of us with dark/red pigmented lips who find lighter nudes unnatural looking.

2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser. I use it to conceal dark circles as well as highlight. I love it’s thin texture and it’s ability to set yet be flexible.

3. Nyx lipsticks, in Indie Flick and Tea Rose. I got a tonne of compliments and they are hydrating to my lips!

4. Wet n Wild lipsticks in Purty Persimmon, Don’t Blink! Pink, and Stoplight Red. So pigmented! So cheap! And they last for at least 4-6 hours for me at work, where I sweat, talk a lot, drink tonnes of coffee and run around like crazy.

The Rimmel Scandaleyes “nude” eyeliner. I was looking for a good flesh toned liner but found drugstore offerings to be a bit dismal. So I thought I was just settling for the rimmel liner. Boy was I wrong. It’s so pigmented and lasts incredibly well on my ever-watery, perma-greasy waterline. Now I find myself packing this more than a black pencil liner ha!

Mel Avatar

Hmm… The LATEST one is the L’oreal Gel Liner. I’m enjoying the texture better than the Blacktrack Fluidline.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the LA Girl lipglosses (those with the super pigmentation that people say are dupes for the Melted lipsticks from Too Faced – they are completely different, but for lipglosses, the color looks amazing)

CeeBee Avatar

There are 12 new shades too, including some wicked purples! (I have them on order already)… I like the LA Girl Glazed formula though it’s more a liquid lipstick than a gloss. I need to apply these with a brush, the tube is next to useless, so messy. But for the $, they are really awesome!

Denise Avatar

I love the Loreal Gel liners too the brush it comes with is pretty good and the formula is so easy to apply. I’ve been enjoying the brown and navy colors.

Krista Avatar

I love those LA Girl lip glazes!! I think everyone says they are a melted dupe bc of the packaging but they are so much more like OCC lip tars! Either way, they are so pigmented and last forever. I really want the new colors!

I’m kind of in the process of falling in love with one right now, actually! It’s a Collection concealer from – wait for it – the *supermarket*. Not even the drugstore. But it’s a good shade, covers my undereye shadows, wears like iron…!!

In terms of something I already love, I guess it would be Revlon’s Matte and Lacquer balms? I love the colour range, I love the texture, and I love the fact that they’re one of the cheapest decent quality lipsticks you can buy here.

My latest acquisition is also from the supermarket! I bought a Kroger (US grocery chain) house brand BB Cream, and I *love* it. It’s supposed to “compare” with Garnier, which I also really like, but it’s 1/2 the price, but 2X the pigmentation. It’s also more matte, and has less “sl”, which is working really well for me in this unseasonably hot/humid weather we’re having. My main issue with it is that even the Light/Medium shade is darker than I’d like, but I set with a lighter MPF, and if I blush/bronze, I can make it work. Also, the SPF 15 could be a bit higher…

Sylirael Avatar

Ooh – that’s quite impressive for a BB cream! Usually their ‘light’ shades are MUCH darker than one likes (if one needs a true ‘light’ shade). 😀 I haven’t tried the Garnier BB, but after having mediocre experiences with the Maybelline Dream Fresh (weird colour) and the Body Shop Vitamin E one (made my face tingle creepily – odd as I love their skin products normally), and then falling head over heels for the YSL one (T_T why did it have to be HE?), I’m kind of loath to keep experimenting. So glad you found a great, cost effective succesful one!

If I’m completely honest, the Collection concealer is a *hint* too dark/peachy for my neck – I have a couple of annoying random spots there atm – but if I blend the edges well and add a lighter powder it’s still a damn sight better than obvious, angry red dots, you know? 😉 But then as pale as my face is, my neck is actually transparent. So there’s probably not much out there that would work perfectly for that area – certainly not something available cheaply in NZ, LOL!

Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster Va Va Voom Volume Mascara. It doesn’t make my eyes burn, it makes my lashes look great, has adorable packaging, and smells like cocoa powder.

Courtney Avatar

Bourjois and Lise Watier are both wonderful lines available as well in some drugstores in Canada. I always enjoy the affordable “dupes” available from
ELF at target here. Still can’t beat some of the Maybeline and L’Oreal mascaras too, if you have particularly sensitive eyes and/or contact wearer. Would love to be able to indulge in the fab Dior and Lancôme offerings, but my eyes won’t have it 🙁

Denise Avatar

L’Oreal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner. I bought Espresso, which is a very dark brown. It goes on as smoothly as a liquid, and dries to a bombproof finish. The brush it comes with is useless, but I have several I prefer anyway.

Jennifer Avatar

I have a fair bit of drugstore products that work and are useful to me. The ones I really love though, that would be the Color Sensational Vivids lipstick line, Wet’n’Wild Comfort Zone palette, and Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara. I suppose everyone loves the first two, but I’m always shocked Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara doesn’t get more blogger love. It lengthens (can’t wear it on a day I need to wear safety goggles!) and volumizes like a champ and it has a teeny tiny brush that can really get into the base of lashes and the tiny corner or bottom lashes.

Amber C. Avatar

I am in love with Maybelline Color Sensational Matte lipsticks – I only have Mesmerizing Magenta so far, but the color is very rich, the fomula is smooth and it doesn’t dry out my lips. The finish on this one even has a slight purple duochrome. LOVE.

xamyx Avatar

I’d have to go with the Maybelline Master Hi-light Blush. Although I’ve always had a fondness for many DS products, and most of my HG products (past & present) have been DS, these are truly unique, and I don’t know of any HE products that can compare.

CarrieL2 Avatar

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Powder. I use this as a blush, as you can go light, or build up the color. I’ve tried going back to my other blushes, but I keep coming back to this.

Loreal Silkissime eyeliners. They are very pigmented and glide on in one pass. Comparable to Urban Decay and Clinique Intense eyeliners. Love all the intense colors!

Donna N Avatar

it would be a tie with both Loreal’s Visible Lift Blur Foundation and Maybelline’s Pumped UP! Colossal mascara. Both have been worn all summer and performed better than expected. I was really pleasantly surprised by the Loreal foundation, especially since I use more high-end brands of foundation usually. This was my surprise of the summer!!!

Gabriela Avatar

Rimmel’s Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze 022. I never thought I could use any bronzer (really pale skin) until Lisa Eldridge recommended it and I have to buy it. It’s light, beautiful and cheap :D, it’s perfect for my skintone.

Elizabeth Avatar

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer, the little hearts. They kind of remind me of Guerlain’s Meteorites, but they are shaped like hearts. I don’t need a lot of product to get a nice glow, and they are a little shimmery, yet they don’t make me look any oilier than I already am. I like the fragrance too. I don’t know that they make me happy, but they sure are cute and very wearable.

Genevieve Avatar

I fell in love with Rimmel’s Match Perfection foundation. My shade is the Light Porcelain – for those of you who are very fair and have pink undertones. It is very light, but offers excellent coverage to even out skintones. I suffer from redness on my cheeks. Quite often it is on sale, which makes it most cost effective. I have tried Estee Lauder, Clinique, Lancôme etc and none of them are as good as this foundation. I have thrown out bottles of Chanel, Napolean Perdis etc because they have been the wrong colour for me.

cara Avatar

Newest is maybelline matte lipstick, picked up 4 shades. They are really a fantastic formula and so inexpensive. Personal favorite is daringly nude.
*If you haven’t tried the maybelline vived shades you are missing out, I have every color. They are beautiful and a great product. Personal favorite is brazen berry.

Next is one I discovered a few months ago:
hard candy glamoflauge heavy duty concealer. I’m telling you, this is hands down the best concealer I’ve came across and I’ve tried A LOT of high end ones.

calimom Avatar

Just this week I’ve been testing out 2 new (to me) DS products and I really like them both. They are the Physicians Formula Spotless foundation (one of the newer thin consistency foundations but minus the high alcohol content) and NYC bronzer in Sunny. One of my old favorites is the Maybelline eraser under eye concealer. I’ve probably repurchased it 10 times.

Jade Avatar

Definitely Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss! I first tried Adorned (which is in a class of its own) but I’ve since discovered I love the formula. I also quite like the Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliners.

lisa Avatar

Jordanas 12 hour made to last eyeliner. I only have it in brown but it was a great purchase d or so little money. It’s creamy, smudges we, and when it sets it lasts about 6 hours without fading which I can totally deal with for a $.99 liner. Thinking of picking up more colors.

Quinctia Avatar

Milani Bella Blue lipstick. I’m finding it a bit of a stepping stone to something like KvD Poe. It’s definitely blue, but it’s just sheer enough to let a bit of natural lip color through.

I’ve only worn it out once so far, but I have worn it out.

kelly Avatar

REVLON BLACK CHERRY LIPSTICK. I’m obsessed with it. It’s perfect. If it ever discontinues, I’ll be heartbroken. My go-to interview and work lipstick is Pink in the Afternoon, which I pretty much stockpile. I have both of these lipsticks in triplicate hoarded in my makeup stash. No matter what my hair color (dark red, blonde, brunette) both of these lipsticks look fan-freaking-tastic.

I also really like NYX butter glosses and the L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. I have dry, sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and it works really well, especially for the price and the sheer amount of BOGO half promotions they have on it.

I love this question!!

I love the Maybelline color tattoos. I just got a loreal infalliable eyeshadow and I love it as well! Also, loving the Jordana Twist & Shine moisturizing lip stains. For $2.99 they are so amazing! I went and bought the whole collection!

1. Rimmell Moisture renew lipsticks are amazing for a drugstore brand. I have “Lets get naked”, picadilly pink, “08” and 104″ – just amazing.

2. Maybelline “soft and full” mascara

3. Maybelline color sensational lipsticks are great quality as well and super pigmented. Rimmell Kiss/Kate and the Maybelline color sensational line have impressed me.
