Monday I used MAC’s free overnight shipping and splurged on my first ever MAC lippies! I move them and thanks to your review on Impassioned it’s a new fav of mine (along with Show Orchid)! I’d like to get the matching lipgloss in your review of Impassioned. The same day my new Too Faced La Creme arrived as well in Jelly Bean along with my OCC Lip Tar All Star Mini x 12 pack. I’m in lippie heaven!!!
Edit typo: I LoVE them (not move them) 😛
The Naked 3 Palette
Nar’s blush in Sin. It’s a beautiful color, but it may be a bit too shimmery for pores.
The last real splurge was probably when I went to Boston last month and went to NM and Saks…picked up a LMdB lip kaleidoscope, a Tom Ford lip shine/nail polish, and a few other assorted things that I’d usually buy sight-unseen because I live nowhere near prestige beauty counters. I got some great products and the associates were all just lovely so it was all-around a great experience!
The Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Never thought I’d pay that kind of money for a tinted moisturizer but it’s niiice.
Glamglow… but its so worth it 🙂
Suqqu powder brush 168 pounds….which is like $250.00 U.S. dollars….plus shipping plus customs.
Girl. I hope that brush DOES your makeup, honey. Lol. How does the brush perform?
A pretty expensive sunscreen for the face. Sadly, I am not sure if that is what is causing this allergic reaction on my face :o(
I think the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant will be my next splurge…!
I bough the UD Naked 3 palette as a reward for getting good grades this term while taking 2 400 level math classes, lol!
A few items from the guy bourdin collection from nars and a petite bonbons trÃo from Laura mercier 🙂
Sigma Brushes!
Shu Uemura Holiday 2013 palette which I ended up returning since it didn’t hold up to the price tag.
Guerlain crazy meteorites pressed powder. They did not stock this piece in the UK so it was really hard to track down! I’m bowled over by the incredible, subtle glow it imparts. I’ve never purchased a back up but I’m seriously considering it!!
My Clarisonic Mia 2! It has thankfully been worth the splurge so far!
Tom Ford lipstick in Indian Rose – so worth it!
Nothing much (the last beauty buy I made was a couple of the Maybelline Vivids lipsticks), but tomorrow I might go in to see the sales, and there are a few MAC and Hourglass products I’m eyeing.
Butter London “Black Knight”
The Hourglass Ambient palette.
Cle de Peau under Eye concealer. I never would have thought about spending $70 on concealer, but everyone says it’s worth it!
The Sisley balm for eyes and lips area. I had a sample which turned to be the only product to rid me of annoying dry spots on my lids, so I purchased the full size.
Probably the Chanel eyelash curlers I got! They are amazing though, definitely worth the hype!
Well since most of my products are high end I splurge on quite a bit, but the most recents would be Chanel. I’m also looking forward to checking out their products at the counter. Thanks for the reviews Christine, and Merry Christmas!
My pleasure, Mindy! Merry Christmas!
The Tom Ford She Wolf trio! (I love it so much I want a backup, and I haven’t bought backups in a long, long time.)
Dior Rose Diamond. I totally didn’t need it but I had that $20 off coupon from Sephora and it was burning a hole in my pocket, so to speak, so I got Rose Diamond and a few other little things to put my total up to $50. It’s very nice and I sort of force myself to use it but I so didn’t need it.
Skincare, namely Kate Somerville.$$$ I also love Renee Rouleau, thanks to you. It gives good results at better prices! Im working my way through her product line 2 items at a time . Also thinking about splurging on a lash thickening agent soon, as a New Year’s gift to myself!
Have a lovely Christmas ,Christine!
You too, PJ!
The Naked 3 palette and Algenist Firming and Lifting Serum.
Guerlain Météorites Voyage Exceptional Pressed Powder! Definitely my most expensive beauty product to date (still one of my favorites, regardless). 😆
I got the Naked 3 palette too. I’m just waiting for my aunt from the US to arrive before I finally get my hands on it.
My last makeup haul:
Urban decay liquid liner ”Eldorado”
Tarte ”Off the cuff” palette
Bare minerals ”Crystallized”
The clinique cc cream
Mac lipsticks: Rebel, Please me and Honeylove
Mac MSF ”Lightscapade”
Estee Lauder face primer
🙂
the beautyblender hahahaha
lancome beige III (neutral) waterproof concealer for $36 cad. pricey but it got 5 out of 5 on makeupalley. i bought for my dull under-eye. still trying to figure it all out. trying to see if it creases, lasts long, and brightens. do you have any suggestions? thanks christine.
Nars Creamy Concealer. I know, not really a splurge, but because I dont buy concealer often, it felt out of the ordinary, especially since it is one of the more pricy tube concealers out there.
I only wanted to get Laura Mercier’s Bold Brights Mini Lip Glace Set, but I ended up buying also the Luxe Colour Wardrobe Dual Decker Colour for Eyes & Cheeks.
Dolce & Gabbana creamy foundation and perfect matte liquid foundation…and guerlain’s new pressed powder.
Last major beauty gift I bought was for my mom…super-sized Clinique Moisturizer. She’s testing it out and crossing her fingers that it works, since they did wind up discontinuing the old version that she loved.
Last splurge for *me* was 2 months ago…Kevyn Aucoin Blood Roses lipstick, I believe. 🙂
Glamglow Youthmud, we’ll see how it goes. I bought it with a discount, 50€ for a mask is definitely not a cheap choice.
My last splurge was Dior Shimmer Star in Amber Diamond… So gorgeous! I’d been lusting after it forever, and finally nabbed it, along with a new NARS light reflecting loose powder, with my Sephora coupon. I just love it, and I’m so happy I caved and snapped it up.
Merry Christmas, Christine! I hope you and your fam are having a lovely day. 🙂
Merry Christmas, Nikki! 🙂
Givenchy rose d’exception lipstick, love it! I wear it constantly because it’s a great nude and long-wearing even through eating and drinking, so it’s great for evenings out and dinner parties.
Oh me too me too,! 😉 it shuld be here any day now!
Without a doubt – Guerlain Crazy Meteiorites 😀 and am so happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and I thank you every time i use it :d
Merry Christmas dear 😀 god bless you and your family sweetie 😀
Well -these happened on the same day:
Bare Minerals Degrees of Dazzling (split between three of us of very different ages and skin color). Loose bare mineral sets are perfect for sharing. Of the 20, there were only two shadows that had any smidgen of overall in our tastes since we each have unique issues. Great value as the set was 50% off!
Bare Minerals The Truth – giggling this so no guilt here
Chanel creme blush de Chanel: Preordered Chamade and Intonation. I know I’m going to love them. The formula is an interesting one and simply looks like silk on my skin.
Gotta love how this iPad changes what I write. I am “gifting” The Truth.
Guerlain crazy meteorites compact, get it while you can!
At my request, a friend did some retail shopping for me in London quite recently: I bought the Suqqu face/powder brush and the Suqqu blush brush. Also, I got the Burberry eyeshadow in Kahki (actually I got two!!) as I have not been able to find that shade in the US. I think that does it for me for quite a long long time. 🙂
I really didn’t need it so it definitely was a splurge, Bare Minerals Pressed READY Foundation!
The last beauty item that I splurged on was the Embryolisse Moisturizer. I received a sample in my Birchbox this month and after one use knew it NEEDED to be in my collection. I’m still waiting on it to arrive but I think this will be come a permanent part of my routine 🙂
The two Chanel spring nail polishes, three or the Zoya Naturel polishes, two Burberry polishes and Deborah Lippmann rehydrating base coat.
Butter London holiday lacquer sparkle collection ( and Naked 3).
I’ve been good really. My last splurge was the Hourglass Ambient palette included in my Sephora VIB sale haul. I got Naked 3 after that but I consider that a necessity 🙂
Hourglass Ambient Highlighting Powder
A tube of Sisley Express Flower Gel from Saks. Even with a discount, it was super spendy.
I’ve both spent and saved a fortune on lots of gift sets and palettes this holiday! My favorite splurge so far has been the Soleil Tan de Chanel! It’s a cream bronzer base and totally worth every penny. I’ve been using it for about a month — great for all over color and contour.
Made a small “Christmas present to myself” haul…restocked my LMdB Peau Vierge tinted Luminizer and Hydracreme Lipstick in One and Only, a Dolce&Gabanna eyeshadow quad in Smoky, Edward Bess Quad Royale in South of France, and YSL Youth Lib Foundation :).
Since there was free shipping, I bought Vex and Patina eyeshadows from the MAC website. I bought them in pan form so they were $10 each…but as a broke college student with a stash of almost exclusively drugstore items, themselves usually bought on sale, I’d consider that a splurge.
The full set of Urban Decay eyeliner pencils. I just love it. If I can swing it, I’d like to get the shadow set too. Also got Naked 3 and love that.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture #23 Corail Poetique. I’ve been wanting the YSL Rouge Volupte #26 Tender Peach but they didn’t have it here in NZ. The SA said it’ll probably be sometime mid next year before it gets here or it may never. So I settled for Corail Poetique, as it looks like a dupe for Tender Peach.
Tom Ford Blush in Flush and True Coral Lipstick. My first purchases from the brand! Love them both, but can’t make a habit of buying TF products 😉
Nars Kalahari e/s duo. Essie Lilacism. Angel Liqueur de Parfum.
A bottle of Diptique Philosykos E.d.P. I love it, even though is fleeting, no sillage.
Bought some Ellis Faas items for the first time. Her foundation, concealer and a blush. I’ve been using for two weeks now, and can honestly say I love all three. I’ve not had any issues with the bullet pens, and the formulations are wonderful. The foundation really does give a healthy natural skin finish. I think when the two bullet refills run out, I’ll buy the bottle version and refill the bullet inserts to save some $$$.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ladies!!
I just bought two Sugarpill eyeshadows. They’re from the new Sparkle Baby collection, which it isn’t released until August 2014, so I snapped these up even though they weren’t cheap. Can’t wait for them to get here!
3 YSL lipsticks,4 Dior addict lips, and 2 Givenchy lips!! (thanks to your swatches) 😉 There is definitely a difference in the formula compared to cheaper brands and im in love with em all! Lol
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils, and it was money well spent! Best eyeliners ever!
