Kaja Mocha Spritz Beauty Bento Eyeshadow Trio Review & Swatches
Mocha Spritz
Kaja Mocha Spritz Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio ($21.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a new, deeper neutral eyeshadow trio featuring two matte shades and one shimmery shade. All three shades performed well; they were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing without being prone to fallout. I felt like the three shades worked well together, too.

Dazzling Bronze
Dazzling Bronze is a light-medium taupe-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was finely-milled and blendable on my skin. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "uniform shimmer in every swipe" that is best applied "with your fingers." They have a dimethicone-heavy feel (unsurprising given it was typically the first ingredient in each shade), so there's a velvety slip that is lightly emollient but not truly wet or cream-like to the touch. I found them to be more powder-like than cream-like, but they had the binding and hold of a creamier formula. They applied well to bare skin without the need of primer, adhesive sprays, or glitter glue for pretty stellar wear--they often lasted between eight and 10 hours on me with slight fallout. I more often saw faint creasing after eight hours than much in the way of fallout.
Fingertips will definitely yield the most pigmented the quickest, but I didn't struggle to use brushes (my preferred method for precision) and found that brushes often packed semi-opaque or opaque coverage as well. I also tried them wet and didn't find that to cause issues to the pan, and it did give some shades a smoother, shinier finish but wasn't necessary to use them (more like a bonus). I didn't have issues with fallout whether I used my fingertips or brushes to apply; I pressed and gently pulled the brush across my lid area to distribute the product (same technique I use for high-shimmer/metallic shades). They were impressive; they were magical--if you love sparkly, shiny eyeshadows, they're well worth a look!

Rich Espresso
Rich Espresso is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture felt smooth, velvety, and substantial with a smidgen of powderiness present in the pan but not during application (so not fallout nor did it sheer out too readily). It had full color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Deep Jam
Deep Jam is a deep, reddened-plum with warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, velvety consistency that was more substantial without being too powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan. It was easy to pick up with a dry brush, applied evenly, and diffused well along the edges. It stayed on well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Dare I say I find these uninspiring, after all the Clionadh?
I think this is a perfect little trio – although I do wish the Deep Jam shade had been a soft shimmer. These shades can easily be utilised with any others too.
Has anyone tried using these with just fingers? That’s supposed to be the “unique” thing about this formula right? I find this idea intriguing but not sure how to go about it in the real world…
I don’t see why you couldn’t! 🙂
I love this! I really appreciate that it doesn’t look glitter overloaded like some of the other trios of theirs have been. Pretty, but not something I would wear often because I don’t like wearing glitter to work and having fall out. This little trio looks perfect for travel and would look cute just sitting on my vanity.
I have the same thoughts, Lauren! The glitter was what stayed my hand on some of the previous trios but the colors and finishes on this particular trio are spot-on for me. I’ve been curious on the whole “bouncy” concept. I don’t think I’ll be doing too much traveling this year but this would have been fun to take with me on a trip.
