Kaja Beauty Chocolate Dahlia Beauty Bento Eyeshadow Trio Review & Swatches
Chocolate Dahlia
Kaja Chocoalte Dahlia Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio ($21.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a new, neutral-hued trio that features two matte browns (lighter and mid-tone) and one, sparkling peach. I could definitely see this working for a quick, everyday eye for some! All three shades performed well and consistently with the other shades in the trios.

Crushed Pearl
Crushed Pearl is a deeper peach with strong,w arm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had good color coverage in a single layer (applied with fingertips as described, though I used a brush for applying to my lid and was still able to achieve good coverage and adhesion!). The texture was smooth, denser and firmer in the pan, but it wasn’t stiff or difficult to work with. There was a touch of fallout when I blended out the edges with a brush. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading a touch.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "uniform shimmer in every swipe" that is best applied "with your fingers." They have a dimethicone-heavy feel (unsurprising given it was typically the first ingredient in each shade), so there's a velvety slip that is lightly emollient but not truly wet or cream-like to the touch. I found them to be more powder-like than cream-like, but they had the binding and hold of a creamier formula. They applied well to bare skin without the need of primer, adhesive sprays, or glitter glue for pretty stellar wear--they often lasted between eight and 10 hours on me with slight fallout. I more often saw faint creasing after eight hours than much in the way of fallout.
Fingertips will definitely yield the most pigmented the quickest, but I didn't struggle to use brushes (my preferred method for precision) and found that brushes often packed semi-opaque or opaque coverage as well. I also tried them wet and didn't find that to cause issues to the pan, and it did give some shades a smoother, shinier finish but wasn't necessary to use them (more like a bonus). I didn't have issues with fallout whether I used my fingertips or brushes to apply; I pressed and gently pulled the brush across my lid area to distribute the product (same technique I use for high-shimmer/metallic shades). They were impressive; they were magical--if you love sparkly, shiny eyeshadows, they're well worth a look!

Cool Khaki
Cool Khaki is a soft brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, blendable, and velvety with a smidgen of powderiness in the pan, but the eyeshadow applied well to bare skin without sheering out too readily while still blending out nicely. It had opaque color coverage that lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Brown Sugar
Brown Sugar is a medium-dark brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, silky consistency that was finely-milled without being too powdery in the pan–but it wasn’t too firmly pressed in the pan either, so it picked up easily with a brush. The eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out with ease. This shade stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

So these are creamy powders? Or cream-powder finish like colour pop super shock shadows? I don’t understand. I did read the overview and am still a little confused.
They are powder eyeshadows – the sparkly shades have more dimethicone in them, so they have a creamier feel, but they are all powder-based.
Thank you! The packaging threw me for a loop. I was like…why does each shade have its own enclosure? Maybe the “cream” needs to be airtight to keep from drying out? Now I see that it’s probably more gimmicky than practical.
This type of packaging also prevents powders mixing together, so there is functionality to it! I think it’s more to standout but not so much as gimmicky; like it’s not bad packaging since it’s not choosing this style at the expense of something else. It may be more durable, too, because of its shape (instead of being thin and flat) and I’d expect it to survive falls better!
Fabulous pigmentation and they really seem to apply effortlessly! Not that I feel I need this particular trio, as I can pull these shades from within my shash. Catch is, they aren’t in the same place!
Maybe not the most exciting of these little trios but I really like it compared with some of the more difficult to wear shades. This would be such a neat little disc to have for overnight trips or to keep at work in a desk drawer, etc. But my collection is replete with dupes and thanks for reminding me to use that great little Tartelette Tease 6 pan that I’ve neglected for more than a year!
I really like the shade choices in this one, very practical. And a beautiful eye look too Christine.
This is such a perfect brown trio, and so compact. It’s so tempting to get it for our upcoming camping vacation, where I don’t need a lot of makeup and luggage space for the four of us will be really tight.
