JD Glow Lemon Lime, Sprung, Epiphany, Smooch Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Lemon Lime
JD Glow Lemon Lime Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a bright, neon lime green with warmer, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was smooth, very cream-like, despite being a powder eyeshadow, and adhered well to bare skin. It was incredibly pigmented to the point where I’d recommend using a lighter hand when working with it. This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

Formula Overview
$7.50/0.0952 oz. - $78.78 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" with a "built in primer." The texture was creamier, smooth, and more emollient without being too thick or too firmly pressed into the pan, so while it was denser and not at all powdery, I had no trouble picking up product with a dry brush. Using a wet brush or fingertip to apply helped to minimize slight to light fallout that was more typical with dry brush application.
The pigmentation was semi-opaque to opaque with good adhesion to bare skin, and the powders blended out well along the edges. Some of the more sparkly shades had light fallout when blended or the sparkles dispersed a bit more readily, so precision placement was harder. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading or lightly creasing.
The one thing to note, though, is that they had a heavy, sweet, fruity scent that I could detect periodically through the day. The empty palette I placed all of the eyeshadows in practically bursts with scent when I open.

Sprung
JD Glow Sprung Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a rich, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and faint lighter blue-fuchsia pearl. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges. The eyeshadow had a smooth, almost cream-like texture with moderate glide but wasn’t overly emollient. It lasted well for eight and a half hours and left a faint stain behind.

Epiphany
JD Glow Epiphany Metallon Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a light, golden bronze with strong, warm undertones and a shiny, metallic finish. The texture was very fragile and prone to coming away in chunks, which made it have decent fallout during application.
The brand noted that it had larger particles and was best used with an eyeshadow primer, but a primer didn’t really minimize the fallout for me; I found that it was better to apply with a fingertip or a small, flat dampened brush. The latter smoothed it out and minimized fallout the most. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading.

Smooch
JD Glow Smooch Metallon Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a medium, rosy pink base with subtle, warm undertones that was packed full of copper and pink sparkle. It had a metallic finish, but the contrasting copper shimmer/sparkle made it look almost like a duochrome.
It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well, though I had light fallout when I worked with it dry. The consistency was smooth, lightly creamy, and picked up readily with a dry brush. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before creasing on me.

Epiphany is my favourite shade and it was a little disappointing to learn that the formula was not that fabulous – flakier, with fall out. I can’t get that brands can do several shades really well and then have one that is tricky to use.
I also liked the look of Epiphany very much til I looked at the swatches and dupes and realized it was a bit too coppery/orange for my tastes (which also explains why I’ve so few dupes for it). The chunky fallout issue would also be a big issue for me! Smooch looks so pretty but it’s not a shade I wear often.
Lemon Lime continues to haunt me. I’ve acquired several JD Glow shadows since you started reviewing them but I just don’t know if this shade is one I can justify such a large pan..
I know, JD Glow pans are HUGE!
Smooch and Lemon-Lime are in-freaking-credible! I’m going to need those two for sure!
I noticed that about Smooch, too. It does seem to be at least somewhat of a duochrome.
Smooch for me, please! 🙂
I also like Lemon-Lime, but I think MAC Lucky Green is among the boldest I’ll ever go with this kind of green, and I have and love Lucky Green.
I’m so glad to own Lemon Lime and for it to receive such a high rating. I really find it stunning and it’s exactly my favorite kind of shade!
