Tom Ford Firelust illuminator. It looks so pretty, but I know I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the price so I’ve never bought it.

Yen.Lin Avatar

Tom Ford Bronzer Brush. With tax, it’s nearly $150 CAD.
I wonder if retailers in Canada raise prices more often than retailers elsewhere, because when I checked Holt’s website, price for said item had increased by $5 since I last checked a few months ago.

Erica Avatar

It really isn’t. It is $100 for mineral oil, lanolin, glycerin. Pure hype and the cheapest, most basic of ingredients. Drunk Elephant is pricey but actually has good skin communicating ingredients. La Mer is not worth the price tag.

Marieke Avatar

The new Urban Decay foundation, properly color-matched. I will only be able to purchase online and I’m very unsure about my color… but I want it.

Virginia Avatar

I’m about NC20-25 with warm-neutral-sometimes olive undertones. 3.0 fits me very well. I darken it with a bit of bronzer because it’s a tad light but it’ll be better come winter time. It’s the foundation that I’m finally settling for, which is saying a lot! I’m Warm Ivory in Hourglass Vanish, 1W2 in Estee Lauder Double Wear, and Light Sand in tarte Rainforest of the Sea. UD All Nighter foundation does not oxidize to a darker color on me, rather it settles into its true color. Hope this helps if you’re anywhere close to my skin color!

kjh Avatar

‘Course I have to go all semantic over the question, so, if a single product is meant, probably Viseart bridal satin or Wayne #2. If sets sold as a unit count, then WG collection or the Zoeva Story palettes set. Don’t think I crave anything UHE.

Julia Avatar

Ohh actually I want that SUQQU brush, too! Not only is it pricey, but it seems just hard to get here. Every mention I have ever seen about it is a rave. I can’t help but believe I need it, haha!

The first thing that came to mind for me, though, was the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Palette. I skipped it because I don’t need it, but it would be fun to have.

kjh Avatar

Yeah, maybe scent would be a good option. Just found out it would cost 305USD to repurchase Creed Erolfa. Omg, better use that one sparingly.

Carolyn Avatar

That’s not simple, it’s smart! If it has to be a single item, I’d take the Chanel Bois Des Iles in parfum concentration ($200). If we can treat a set as ‘one’, it’d have to be the 15th Anniversary Frederick Malle fragrance coffret ($590, ouch)! Fragrance is always tops on my list.

Grlnxdor Avatar

I’d love to get Tom Ford’s Honeymoon eyeshadow quad. It’s on my someday list because of all the wonderful things people are saying about. I have green eyes so it would probably really make them pop.

Joyce Avatar

Definitely Marc Jacobs Lines and Last Night Air Blush. Although the name is questionable, it looks so gorgeous. It’s just difficult for me to rationalize spending over $40 for 0.28 oz of blush.

Or the new Viseart Bijoux Royal palette. I haven’t ever even entertained the idea of purchasing a Viseart palette, no matter the exceptional quality, because $80 is just so much money for me! But the Bijoux Royal does have a lot of jewel tones I’ve always been a fan of and haven’t ever had in one place.

Joyce Avatar

By the way Christine, I love your answer! Whenever I come across Suqqu’s Cheek brush, I think of Lisa Eldridge describing it gliding across the face like a kitten’s paw. So cute! Even though I don’t like cats 😛

Kimberly R. Avatar

probably whatever foundation I’m really wanting to try at the moment… samples just don’t cut it, and don’t seem to be indicative of the way the product truly performs out of the bottle (for example, I tried tarte rainforest of the sea… got the sample home and tried it with my skincare? oil slick. so while I wanted to love it, now I’m scared). I’m fairly new to actually caring about makeup, and have been trying to find my perfect base for months now! yes, I know ulta and Sephora take things back, but I just feel bad :-/ also, being so new, I can’t justify to myself spending so much money on one item…

Erica Avatar

Serum formulas are really good for normal skin types. If you are prone to oily-ness those type of foundations are not for you. Same with cushion foundations. Not for oily skin. Unfortunate but true

Alexis Avatar

I would love a full sized high end foundation. I don’t know which one it would be – perhaps Guerlain or Armani? As much money as I spend on makeup I’ve managed to hold back from trying these, out of fear that once I like it I’ll have to have it!

Bonnie Avatar

Wow there’s only 10 in there! I just looked on Ebay and the cheapest they have it is $319. Last Christmas I spent 300 on a Kat Von D Collection of 20 lipsticks, can’t remember what it was called. I am not sorry – it’s awesome.

MissJae1908 Avatar

Hands down, the brand new CoverFX Customer Enhancer Drops. I just can not justify paying $42 for a product that is half an oz. But I really want one!

Anime Avatar

Tough choice. I would have to say the Hakuhodo S105. That gorgeous vermillion brush is like, the HEIGHT of luxury for me. I don’t know if I will ever try have the capital to throw at Suqqu’s brushes, but I do hear they’re AMAZING.

Shira Avatar

I would love the Artis oval 7 or 8. I’ve been wanting it for a while but obviously it isn’t cheap haha. I also want a few of the new Smashbox liquid lipsticks but can’t justify buying because I bought 4 from a different brand a month or two ago and I have a couple hundred lipsticks. I also want the ABH or KVD contour kit, Too Faced Sweet Tea bronzer, but again, justifying more makeup…. Oh and one more thing haha, in the summer, my usual Dior airflash shade is too light for me but the next one is too dark so ideally I need two for the the right color. But 2 $62 foundations I just can’t stomach!

Erica Avatar

I’ll take almost anything considering it is free. Lol. Otherwise, MAC can send me their eyeshadows. All the ones I want and don’t have. I have a palette to fill up:)

Kelzy Avatar

That $2,000 16 oz La Mer cream on Nordstrom.

I really want to try it because I just turned 30 and have a complex about getting old… But that price tag. Omg.

Erica Avatar

Hype. Spending more doesn’t mean quality. For a pricey brand they really use cheap as ingredients like lanolin and glycerin nor do they take advantage of the latest technology. If you want to take care of your skin, use a good sunscreen. Drink water. Your skin is already aging and seeing effect from sun exposure. A fancy lotion and potion can help minimize damage but it cannot erase. You’d be better off using Play, Philosophy or Drunk Elephant. They don’t rely on hype, over-inflate their prices and actually use great ingredients worth their price tag!

Kelzy Avatar

Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll definitely look into Drunk Elephant. I use the Philosophy “renewed hope In a jar” eye cream but I didn’t think the moisturizer was moisturizing enough.

Katherine T. Avatar

I tried La Mer and think it’s over-priced, prefer Paula’s Choice retinols and creams. And for $2,000 you can get some professional treatments that are more effective

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Kelzey, I’m turning 67 this week and wished for La Mer too but just because I got a small sample. I have no idea if it works. I have very good light medium skin, no wrinkles. I didn’t tan often bc I didn’t get tan. I also had to work too much. Most products I used when I was younger were by Neutrogena and Olay. I like Paula’s Choice very much now as she has researched her products well. Cere Ve is another good skin care line all with reasonable price tags. Sun screen is most important.

AB Avatar

Viseart Minx eyeshadow palette. The only reasons I’m don’t have it yet it is because it’s relatively expensive and I don’t need it (but I want it!). Close second, several Tom Ford eyeshadow quads, especially Honeymoon and Nude Dip.

Nichole Avatar

A Sunday Riley face oil. I make my own face oil with affordable jojoba and tea tree oil. The price of one Sunday Riley bottle would garner a year supply of the oils I mix. I can’t justify the price for such a small bottle that I would have to constantly repurchase. But free? Please…and thank you.

Katherine T. Avatar

Sisley Black Rose Oil – the bottle is stunning and I’m curious about it, but no way am I paying $235 a bottle unless it erases years off my face. But if someone gave it to me for free, I wouldn’t mind! Or one of those holiday UD shadow vaults would be nice too

HeavyMetalJess Avatar

I’m with so many others here. I really want to try a Viseart palette (would probably go with dark matte). It has that beautiful mustard color I am dying to get my hands on.

thirteen Avatar

Viseart Paris Nudes. I am totally lusting after it but I can’t justify the price, especially considering that I have absolutely no need for any more eyeshadows.

I might get it when Sephora has their fall sale…next year. I doubt my eyeshadow situation will be different any time sooner!

Stephanie Avatar

A Tom Ford quad like honeymoon or Tom Ford Blush. They are just so expensive and I could not justify purchasing one without seeing it in person. The nearest retailer to me is a good 3 hour drive into a large city. Maybe when I am in NYC in the fall. Depends on the Cdn dollar at that point.

Marie-Estelle Avatar

I see that the Suqqu cheek and the Tom Ford’s quads are really populair! That’s also what came first to my mind!
But, a friend should bring me a suqqu from London soon… and the quads well… I could use those gift cards I have! 😀

Thus, I would go a a gelish kit (lamp + polishes). Still trying to figure out how to get one for a good price in Europe!

Sarah Avatar

Well, me being me, I saw “for free” and immediately launched into my high-end wishlist. Student budget–I’ll take free whenever I can! That said, I’d probably pick either the Viseart Boheme Dreams or Dark Matte palette. I want both for different reasons!

Kylie5 Avatar

The nordstrom exclusiv Laura mercier Palette you have already reviewed. It is so beautiful but it is Quite expensive and I have nothing from Laura mercier yet.
Or the Classic Face cream from la mer which is sooo expensive to give it As a present for my mum. I think it was also at nordstroms Website where I have Seen a Huge bottle for 1000 $ When I remember it Right. I Do not Know if it is worth the Price but my mum Likes this cream and we just Do not buy it because of the Price.

Dua Avatar

Kylie Jenner Birthday Edition Bundle .. It has different new products I’d like to try. Too bad the items sell out in 60 seconds!!!

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Just one thing???? There’s a Cole Haan bag I really want and it is beautiful but I don’t think that’s what you’re going for. I think I want the Chanel eyeshadow quad for Autumn and I’ve fallen in love with the La Mer face creme. I could probably continue. I do need to replace and improve makeup brushes too.

Sondra Avatar

La Mer skin care. Especially The Concentrate. I use it on my dog too. Wait! Before you think I’m crazy using my 1 oz $360 serum on a dog, he will occasionally get hot spots. If you’ve ever seen a puppy suffer with that, you might try it too. It clears it up so quickly. 75% faster than his prescription The tiniest bit heals it in days.

Chacha Avatar

If this dream come true 🙂 i will ask for…
*HOURGLASS: All powders and blush
BECAUSE: we cant buy this brand in France and online its becomereally expensive with postage and taxes and because im sure that ‘s very good products

*BITE BEAUTY: Lipsticks
BECAUSE: also not available in France and im dying when i see all this pictures on Temptalia with this beautifuls colors and texture!

*TOM FORD: Make up! Make up! Make up!
BECAUSE: Finding only in Paris and alson because if the price! I can buy 2 foundations from Guerlain,Chanel or Armani for the price of only one product in this brand! I have only one cream blush from Tom Ford and i’m really not blush cream (except this from Chanel) and i dont like it so i dont want to stay with this feeling about this dreaming brand…

So…if some Brand want my postal address now, Just ask! 🙂 lol

susan Avatar

I love the Laura Mercier repair creme. It is around one hundred dollars but it is absolutely worth the price. I sometimes fear on my limited income that I will not be able to get. So I would say that would be my fave.

Maria Avatar

I am with you Christine I own two Suqqu cheek brushes and a couple of the eye brushes but I don’t own the Face Brush and all the rest of the brushes. I would love to own all of them and two of each. I think they are the Best Brushes. Selfridges sells them for the lowest price but I think shipping is 40 dollars. Sometimes they will offer 25% off of everything in the store but it is a random sale no set date. I tried to pin them down as to when they have that type of sale but they told me that they don’t know if or when they will offer it again.

Yenners Avatar

Oooh I like this question! A few years ago I would have said the Suqqu cheek brush too! In fact I was in Japan last year and it was slightly cheaper there but I couldn’t bring myself to do it as I hardly ever use powder brushes anymore preferring the glow that cream blushes impart.

I would have to say Tom ford lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes. With the amount of make up I already have, I just can’t bring myself to spend that much but would love to try those products.

Yenners Avatar

I’ve noticed a few people have posted that they would like high end skincare. Has anyone else here tried NIOD? It’s a Canadian brand, I have used their products for about 14 months now and I can hand on heart say that I would not use anything else. I have seen so much improvement to my skin it’s incredible. Their pricing is reasonable compared to many high end brands and in my opinion their products far superior. I get compliments on my skin from random strangers!

And no I don’t work for them or own shares in the company (I wish I did!).

Teresa Avatar

CoverFx Cover Drops because it is hard to decide what color you are and they do not really do samples sizes. I plunked down $44.00 for what I thought would be my color, but it is a little too dark. Unforunately, right now I cannot afford to drop another $44.00 to try a lighter shade.

georgina Avatar

the Tom Ford bronzing brush because everybody raves about it but I wouldn’t spend over $100.00 in one brush
or BECCA rouge eye palette because I think the colors are great but I can’t justify buying it since I probably have a dup of every color. But having them in a palette would be great 🙂

Lys Avatar

Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance serum, because it’s one of my favourite, most-used skincare products and I’m about to finish my current bottle any time now so a free backup would be nice. Such a boring answer, I know haha!

RMW (Rose) Avatar

I would love the whole MAC Skincare line and Cosmetic’s line! One of everything Please! ?? Oh Yeah… That would DEFINITELY make MY Day!!

Joyce Chitwood Avatar

I would like to have a set of the new CT lip sets I saw on a site on emails. There was 8-10 I think. I would love to be able to get a nice skin care line from Ulta or Sephora for oily skin and aging. In extra large set. I’m late 40s need all the help I can get. I would even like the Anastasia Palette. Too Faced sweet Tea bronzer. Usually all I can get is drugstore makeup or on sale Lorac palette or Tarte very on sale. Lol like the Nordstrom sale. I got the Romance palette. I would love a Great foundation for my skin to Great. Being oily and older. I also need a pair of dentures. Having so much chemo over the last almost 14 urs. Steroids have cause my bones to fall apart both hips replaced and a shoulder. Well now the teeth. I don’t have ins and on disibility. Husband just left after 30yrs. Raising a 16 yr old boy. And can only pay rent with help of my sons. Since ex to be isn’t working and hasn’t. Oh new glasses and try contacts. Having problem with lashes rubbing on cornea and causing blurriness. That’s all for now. Lol.

Cat Avatar

Definitely the Chikuhodo GSN Series 9-Piece Brush Set! I’ve heard so many good things about Chikuhodo brushes and I would love to try them. But if WG ever put all of his brushes together in one mega-set, that would definitely be my first choice!

Lea Avatar

Either byTerry bronze and highlight palette or smokey nudes eyeshadow or my go to Luna oil. Since I buy the Luna regularly, it’s probably the byTerry palettes. I love looking at them, but have managed to not justify purchase. Yet…

SparklewithcharmforGrace Avatar

Honestly, I would think that Jaclyn Hill would like a good representation of an honest opinion. I choose her products for the upcoming product line to try for free

BonnieBBon Avatar

The free part aside, I’d want the Hourglass Luminous Light palette that was exclusive to the Nordstrom sale. Omg you guys I wanted it SO BAD!! When the sale opened to everyone I planned on being right there ready to scoop it up. It sold out right before. My heart was so broken. I can’t stop thinking about it, if anyone here got one and decides you don’t want it please let me know! I’m happy to buy it from you.

BonnieJ Avatar

Estee Lauder’s new foil mask sets with hyaluronic acid in them. You smooth it over a cleansed face and leave on for ten minutes, pull the foil off, and then massage the liquid into the skin. The next morning my lines are dramatically softened, and the skin looks plumped. The masks are $22 apiece individually, and sets of four are $80, so they are expensive, and I use them only for special occasions.

Heather Avatar

I would want a set of nice brushes, I think. I have some lovely makeup already, but fewer than a dozen brushes (most of which came in eyeshadow palettes, so there’s not a lot of variety in shape either). I wouldn’t even know where to start with brands, though!

Alternately, I’d like the pretty Atelier Cologne set that comes with a full-sized bottle + 1-oz purse spray, complete with monogrammed leather case. Sud Magnolia is a gorgeous fragrance (albeit a little sweet), and Mandarine Glaciale is such a true, bitter, cold citrus.

Cory Avatar

You should totally treat yourself to a new brush once a month, or however best works for you. Brushes made all the difference in the world for me.

Cory Avatar

Either a Loub lip gloss/lipstick (I’d love to have one in silver but that price is insane!), or the purple/blue Natasha Denona palette. My friend got the green/brown one, & I love the packaging & that you can remove the pans. The price tag is hefty tho.. Even w/Beautylish cutting it into 3 (bless them for doing that!)
..or a Viseart palette..

lizalea Avatar

My biggest regret is missing Kat Von D’s mi video local remix eye-shadow palette this Christmas now if your lucky yo find it its about 600 dollars and I can’t justify that price, I would die if I got it for free though.

Gamze Avatar

Lancome Teint Miracle, Lys Rosé: maybe the only shade that matches my skin tone perfectly!

I actually finished a bottle years ago, but had to switch to drugstore brands. Now I have so many drugstore shades that I can’t justify purchasing another Lancome. Maybe for a special occasion…

Kayle Avatar

A new Bareminerals loose powder foundation! It’s one of the few perfect color matches I have but for some reason I can’t bring myself to drop almost $30 on a new one. That or the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. They’re both things I could easily buy if I saved up, but I just keep hesitating so I wouldn’t be opposed to them just magically appearing on my doorstep lol.

Alecto Avatar

If they didn’t have such noticable fragrance, I’d be tempted to say one of the Guerlain meteorites. But I’d rather say Serge Lutens Beauté Water Lip Color in Black Bordeaux, since it’s something I’m very interested in, but unlikely to ever get for myself.

ffjm1978 Avatar

There’s so much from MAC that I would love to try but scared to dish out the money and it not work for me. Like several of their lipsticks and their Studio Eye Gloss looks really cool on people but not sure how it would work on me.
Then there’s a new (at least to me) line of makeup called Lunatick, they have some really neat looking colors I would like to try but their lipsticks are $15 and palettes are about $35, I can’t afford that, especially not knowing how good it is. If I got it as a gift though that would be great!
