How does glitter fit into your makeup routine?

I really like glitter on the inner tearduct/inner lid, center of the lid, or underneath my lower lash line… I tend to like it for brightening/highlighting in eye looks. I also enjoy a good sparkly/glitter lip as long as it’s not too textured! On cheeks, I will reach for it occasionally but tend to prefer a shinier/more metallic finish if I want it to be OTT!

It’s funny you should be asking this question today as I purchased a new Lise Watier cream-to-powder e/s in the shade Jet Set, which I was thinking was that sludgy grey/green/bronze shade I love so much but it is a WAAAAY more glitterly taupe/grey and I almost put it back (put me in mind of a LE MAC Paint Pot from that Cham-Pale collection years back – the only MAC product I’ve ever returned). But then I decided to get it to use as either a base or topper for some shadows where I’d like to bring out their own glitter or shimmer a bit more. Generally, while I love shimmer and sheen, I’m not a fan of that loose sort of glitter that can fall into my eyes and be quite uncomfortable. And I don’t like glitter falling down from where I’ve placed it.

Every morning I dip into a 55 gallon drum of glitter.

But in all seriousness I love packing it on my lids and sweeping light shimmer on my cheekbones because glitter is great and it can turn my entire mood around.

I tend to stay away from glitter. I’m okay with shine and sheen, but I hate being covered in actual glitter particles. The one exception is my scattered light eyeshadow from hourglass which is like a pared-down glitter. I like this one because the fallout is minimal and it’s a more wearable look that I can get away with wearing to the office.

I’m a belly dancer, glitter IS my beauty routine 😉

Ok, so I don’t always wear glitter, but I’m very drawn to it. I like it on my eyes, on my lips, on my checks, on my body. Usually not all at once, but sometimes.

I wear gas permeable contacts, and already have to battle frequent watery eyes from stuff getting underneath them, so I fear glitter and stay away from it at all costs! I like shimmery or metallic, as long as the shine isn’t big chunks of glitter that seem like they’ll transfer and move around easily.
On the face glitter is no bueno. I’m almost 50, I don’t need my aging skin highlighted like that!

I am definitely not glitter-adverse! Not with 2 larger eyeshadow palettes that are entirely glitter formula. But it’s a more fine or microglitter as opposed to the dangerous or irritating looking chunky glitter. So, yes, at nearly 60, I still wear it. It actually reflects in such a way as to draw attention away from any very slight texture I may have on my lids. I also enjoy using glittery eye pencils, too. For cheeks, only more refined flat-lying microglitter is acceptable to my personal preference for a highlighter or possibly even blush. Having just bought 2 PMG Blitztrance lipsticks and having other glittery lipsticks and many such glosses, pretty obvious that I don’t mind it! I just don’t want to *feel* it on, though.

I WANT to be that girl who loves the glitter, but sadly I’m not. With my hooded Asian eyelids, it’s very difficult for me to pull glitter off in any eye look. I’m not comfortable with actual glitter on my cheeks, and I don’t like the thought of possibly eating glitter so I stay away in my lip products.

How doesn’t it? LOL I try to avoid really chunky glitter, but that’s about it.

*I use glitter shadows patted on the center of the eyelid. Glittery shadows or eye-safe glitter over glitter glue primer go over the entire eyelid, or on the inner corner of my eye.

*Glitter eyeliners, both pencil and liquid.

*I occasionally use glitter shapes on the outer corners of the eyes, or as an accent on one cheekbone (kind of like a beauty mark).

*I sometimes use highlighters with a little glitter in them, but just on top of my cheekbones, not on the rest of my face. I have a few blushes with fine gold sparkles, but I use those less often.

*I love glittery lips, as long as the lip product doesn’t feel too gritty.

*Glitter nail products are my favorites. I have glitter NexGen nails or glitter nail polish on at least 90% of the time.

*I usually try to avoid glitter on the eyes, lips, and cheeks all at the same time.

I love it! I’m 61 and I love anything shiney. I mainly just use it on the eyelid but not too often as it’s not work appropriate. Wish I knew more ways to use it on the eyes. I got carried away and bought a bunch from lit. I use glitter glue so no fall out. It will stay with me awhile tho here and there. Love it on lips occasionally on the cheeks.0

In my simple everyday life I don’t wear it but I do love it! Still I’ll hardly wear it only on especially occasions Christmas is a perfect excuse I guess. I love Super shock eyeshadows and have plenty I’ll notice some falls off under my eye but is is very small particles and I’ll just pretend I’m turning into a mermaid. Don’t like big chunks though and only on eyes not on cheeks although yes to highliter! Not on lips either but on eyes, maybe on hair, shoulders, breast bone a bit can be so fun except I’m getting old for all this fun stuff but I will wear on eyes love my super shocks/Coloutpop. I also love glitter eyeliner have a few of those! . .
