How do you organize your cheek products?
I keep my go-to shades in a drawer in my vanity (which holds a fair amount of stuff but not anywhere near what I have). I cycle through some – so I might bring in highlighters from one brand for a month or so and “retire” a brand in that time. For everything else, I sort by brand > formula. If there’s a lot of formula (say MAC blush), then I alphabetize.
I use clear byAlegory acrylic organizers (amazon) for my blush, bronzer, and highlighter shelves. My blushes are still in their original packaging so they’re alphabetized, and for bronzers and highlighters, I can tell what they are by the packaging so I don’t alphabetize those.
Umm…not very well, I’m afraid. For one thing almost all are in the bottom drawer of my 3 drawer Sterlite in a tray that comfortably stores roughly half of my cheek products. The rest? Are overflowing from the top! Some are in two highlight palettes. What I’m going to try and do is put something, maybe a low table, underneath the Sterlite so that I don’t have to bend so far over and will actually be able to SEE labels on my stuff. I know that I need a much better organizational system than what I’m currently doing.
I keep my everyday blush (Urban Decay Rapture) in my go-to section of my make-up drawer.
All my other cheek products are used more sparingly, so I keep those towards the back of my drawer. Those products are separated into highlighters, blushes, and bronzers. Then, each of those categories is organized by brand.
I don’t have as many cheek products as lipsticks or eyeshadows, so they all fit in one drawer. They’re organized by type of formula (pressed powder, loose powder, cream, liquid) and then brand.
I have maybe three or four in my everyday drawer and the rest sorted by color family in my vanity. Most of my blushes are powde anyway, so I don’t sort by type.
I have alittle plastic basket and I keep my blush ( powder and cream) and highlighters in there.
As I have said here before, as much as I love makeup I don’t have tons of it. I have five blushes and one highlighter I use, so they stay together in a drawer. It doesn’t take much searching to find the one I want. 🙂
I have a drawer for blush. I keep a few on my vanity.
I have all my makeup (minus eyeshadow palettes) in one drawer, and all my blushes in one tray, highlighters and bronzers in another. They’re not in any particular order, although I do have all the Becca highlighters together because they look good that way!
I keep my slimmer powders in a compact organizer, the bulkier powders behind that, and my cream products behind that. All my face products share a large drawer.
The most recents are in a basket, with the smaller ones in a tin in the basket..like the cheek pops. The MUGs are together in a Z, as are many depotted ones…the Zs are together with a label on the end. Older ones are less accessible, but at least those are in drawers divided into cool vs. warm. Certainly not very systematic. I can find what I want, but I have to think of it first, rather than be able to pull out similar colors and choose. When my memory goes, I’m dead!
I use two byAlegory organizers. I don’t have a lot of blush-I like what I like and I don’t experiment much. I keep my 2 UD blushes in the 8 slot compact holder. They share space with a pressed powder compact and my 3 highlighters. The rest of my blushes are Clinique Cheek Pops, which fit in the single eyeshadow organizers alongside my MAC eyeshadow singles. They fit next to each other in my IKEA dresser drawer, with my palette collection.
You should try the byAlegory products. They are on Amazon. The lipgloss organizer is fantastic too.
I have reviewed byAlegory organizers extensively on the blog already! 🙂
I have knock-off Alex drawers for makeup storage so I have one drawer for bronzers and highlighters and another drawer for blush. Most are stored in plastic makeup storage containers from the container store (kind of like the by Alegory ones). But I have A LOT of blush so what doesn’t fit in the plastic containers is just kind of stored within the drawer wherever they fit lol. I do have one small area within the drawer for cream blushes but I only have about five of those. Blush palettes are kept on the sides or stacked in the back of the drawer.
I depot most of my powder products and keep them in magnetic palettes. What I can’t or don’t want to depot (ColourPop products, baked formulas, super cute packing) I have organized by product into plastic bags (I only do this for blush and highlights because I only have 1 bronzer that isn’t depotted). All of my makeup (except lip products) are stored in one of the drawers of my little dresser, which is not ideal but that’s dorm life for ya
I keep all of my makeup in an acrylic organizer I purchased from a company called Glam Beauty Box (medium size). It was expensive, but absolutely worth every penny. It is made of high quality, thick, durable acrylic that doesn’t bend or warp and I expect it will last me a lifetime. All of my blushes and highlighters are kept in their own pull out drawer in the organizer; I haven’t filled up the drawer yet so they’re not really organized in any fashion.
It’s not too hard for me, since I basically I use the same one most days; I keep that one in my purse with another in the drawer of my most-used items in my master bathroom. There’s one I use as alternate #1, and that will be either in purse or that one drawer. All others are in the bottom (“not used often, on the bubble” ) drawer.
I also have a byAlegory organizer in the shallow drawer of my IKEA desk that I usually do my makeup on. It houses all of my more expensive department store brands blushes.
For all the other blushes, I’ve either only bought refills (Nars, MAC), or depotted them (tarte, theBalm, Benefit). They’re organized in their respective magnetic palettes, by brand. All these palettes are placed in a acrylic magazine rack on my desk that I also purchased from amazon. The palettes have different colors and sizes so I know which one to grab quickly.
I store all of my highlighters and bronzers in a miji drawer.
ByAlegory trays for the win! Those house my single compacts, then palettes are behind them in my “face products” drawer in repurposed letter organizers. I have them grouped by brand.
I keep all of my cheek products in a bin in my makeup drawer. But I keep like 3 seasonally appropriate blushes in my every day acrylic organizer that I keep outside of my drawer!
I currently have a nude blush, NARS Sin, and Clinique Cola pop in my organizer!
I keep favorites in an acrylic container on my vanity and the rest in an acrylic drawer under my sink. my goal after moving was to organize all my makeup.
I only have 2 I use regularly, a creme and a powder. They stay in my makeup bag. I never take them with me, unless I’m traveling.
I don’t have enough to warrant major organizational structure. My foundations, cheek and powder products are in a large Tory Burch makeup bag I keep under my sink. I can easily go in, grab what I need and then put out of sight before leaving.
I have one of those IKEA Alex 5-drawers and the 2nd drawer is for cheek products. I have some glossyboxes (it can fit three) and some narrow acrylic bins from the container store running along the side. The front-most glossybox is blushes, the 2nd one is highlighters, the back one is extras like samples and such. The two side acrylic bins are bronzers and my one contour (Kevyn Aucoin) as I only have a few bronzers, and my Tarte blush palette and two NARS cheek palettes in the bin behind that.
The upper left drawer of my vanity contains all my blushes. I keep the highlighters in with the foundations in the middle right drawer, but I have a LOT of highlighters so they’ve migrated to the drawer above (concealers, primers, tools) and into my smallest traincase under the vanity. I …have a highlighter problem.
I keep my makeup in an antique wash stand! It has 3 drawers. The top drawer I store my foundations, powders, blushes, highlighters/bronzers. I have kept the boxes that TooFaced sends their cosmetics in the mail and I have foundations and powders in one (divided), blushes in one and the highlighters/bronzers in another.! The second drawer is full of eyeshadow palettes and the bottom drawer is hair care products. I have all my lipsticks in organizers on top of the washstand!
I have two Ikea dark shelves forgot what they are called is been a while. They have three glass shelves and three drawers on the bottom. Love them so practical. I use them to store my eyeshadows on top shelf, blushes and highlighter, bronzers on the middle shelf, and lipsticks on the bottom. My drawers I use them for headbands, sponge foundation applicators, rollers, pms pads and such, cotton, makeup bags and other beauty/women related things. On the second one (my daughter moved with boyfriend we use to have one drawer for each so there’s that, another shelf to fill with yet more exciting things I use the cute cardboard cases from all family members iPhones and have there most of the Physians Formula new purchases most are so light colored that I like to have within easy reach for daily use especially running/walking since they have spf and again are so natural looking. Also big jars of Bhorgese mask, foundations, tons of eyeliners in every rainbow color and tons of chapstics and lip gloses, perfumes. I love pretty boxes with flowers and pretty designs have it all organized to the max. Those iPhone cases are awesome! Lol! Cheap! Cheap! But love it. 🙂 We have two kids one graduated my daughter, my boy one more year so yes, I cut corners here and there loans are ridicusly high from universities these days.
I keep all my cream blushes together and then I arrange the rest by shade (darker colors in one drawer and lighter more summery colors in another drawer). This works better for me than doing it by brand.
I would imagine you would have a lot of blushes and highlighters Christine.
It’s all easy for me: one blush and one highlighter. I have enough trouble sorting through my lipsticks and eye shadow palettes, quints and quads…
Most are palettes so not much to organize!
I mostly have MAC blushes so I’ve depotted them and put them in palettes. I try to only buy blushes that are in a blush palette. I have a few random ones that I hope to depot soon lol
Most of them are depotted into Zpalettes, and sorted by product type and some also by brand (if there is enough of them). Blushes are together, highlighters are together, etc. For loose items or pans that can’t be depotted, I have them organized by product type and brand in a drawer.
Overall, the cheek products that I am using that week (blushes are really the only ones I rotate through, I have fewer bronzers and highlighters so they stay in the ‘currently being used’ spot) sit on the right side of my top makeup drawer (that also houses concealers, brow products, powders, and makeup sponges.) In the three-section organizer, I keep bronzers in the back, blushes in the middle, and highlighters in the front.
The blushes and face palettes I’m not currently using live the bottom three drawers of my desktop acrylic organizer that I got Amazon.
Top drawer of my Helmer is for face / cheek stuff. Blush palettes, powder compacts, brushes, blushes, bronzers, highlighters.
All my blushes, bronzer, contour and highlighter are in one Muji drawer.
I travel a lot so I have a roll up makeup organizer. One pouch for eyes, one for face including brushes, one for primers-setting spray-moisturizers, the big porch at bottom holds mini hairspray, new razor, small deodorant, body cream, q tips, tooth brush and paste, etc. those are my go to’s. All my other products go in a three tier shelf for makeup. Top-eyes, middle-face, bottom-pencil sharpeners, eye lash curler, etc. Ah, then there’s my back up go to that’s on a three tiered table in my bathroom I have my second favorite of everything listed in my roll up makeup organizer.
I just keep my blushes in one drawer and highlighters in another! I don’t think I even own a regular single-pan bronzer…
Cheek products? Oh you mean eye shadows! ? I can’t wear much blush, only a tiny bit of highlighter. My cheekbones are so high, they stick out especially as I age and my face changes shape (exactly same bone structure as David Bowie, different features, higher forehead & like him, my jaw is getting squarer as I age, when younger it was more angular…kind of miss it). I don’t buy cheek products anymore, so use them on my eyes. So while I still keep them separately, but they’re next to eye shadows). I separate highlighters more distinctly since those get used on my cheeks. ⚡️Jet
