Brand Overviews

Now, when you browse a brand’s page, you’ll find an overview what we’ve reviewed, top rated products, popular products, as well as how the brand has rated across general categories. This was inspired by reader @nonamemary’s suggestion that she’d like to go to a page and get an overview of the brand, like their best/worst products. You can access brand pages by clicking the brand in a product badge or through the product database’s sub-navigation. Here are some of the popular brands, and you can see how they rank now (there are plans to aggregate this data in the future):

My Favorites

You can easily access my current and all-time favorites on all pages; it is located in the top navigation labeled as “Favorites.” Favorites are broken down by monthly (what I’m currently enjoying in particular), all-time favorites (typically formulas), and recently recommended products. Monthly favorites may include limited edition favorites, but for all-time, I have kept it to formulas that are permanent/currently available. Check out my favorites!

Last year’s best of compilation seemed to resonate well with readers, so we’ve created this year’s Best of Holiday 2015, which is automatically being updated as new holiday products, sets, palettes, and so forth get reviewed. It currently has around ten products, so it’s still very much a work-in-progress (it will eventually show a top 15). As it fills up, you’ll see this linked more prominently, but it’s fun to see how the rankings change. (Okay, maybe fun just for me, ha ha!)  Check out Best of Holiday 2015 so far!

Wow, this is by far the most brilliant thing ever! It’s nice to see where brands excel and to see a general overview of recommended products. Im really looking forward to seeing this feature. this must take a lot of time to set up!

I was wondering, earlier this year you had started a quarterly report card/best of the new launches feature, is that discontinued? I really enjoyed it, it allowed me to catch some things I’d missed the first time around.

I just haven’t had time (I think Q1 took about 12-14 hours to compile and format) – was hoping to get it more automated for Q2. Should hopefully get it going sooner rather than later as it is similar to what we did for the holiday 2015 set-up!

Wow, some nice upgrades to the site! So how do I find the top rated MAC shadows? I clicked on the link for MAC but couldn’t figure how to find the info

Can I ask what brand/palette those eyeshadows in the favorites panel are from? They’re gorgeous! The sea green is screaming my name. All of them are really.

Also, this was a stroke of genius! Absolutely brilliant Christine!

AHH they’re so gorgeous! I’ve already purchased a few but this photo makes me want to run back to sephora and buy a couple dozen more. Your photos are far better adverts than even the most outlandish and glamorous MUFE promos Christine! No one really makes me drool over products quite like you do! Well it IS the holiday season, and I’ve been reasonably good all year!

I love these new features!!! It’s perfect because when I see some sale or something going down for a brand I don’t know as well (like for Colourpop) I want to look at your reviews of the brand all at once.

The picture for the Temptalia favorites page is totally gorgeous. It’s definitely handy to check out your favorite brushes. I think this is going to help me wrangle my desire to buy so-so limited edition items and focus on quality items. (Basically, I’m not sure how to quit my MAC lipstick addiction haha).

Wow, Christine! That’s amazing! This website has improved so much already since the last major update and just keeps getting better and better. It’s like it’s heading to perfection.
