Hands down, Wet N Wild MegaLast lipsticks. Very pigmented, long wearing, and only 2 bucks! I prefer some of them to my higher end lippies. Cherry Picking is my absolute favorite!

Elise Avatar

L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows are a favorite. But I think the drugstore item I reach for the most are Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable balm stains. They’re easy, well packaged, and the colors are perfect.

Liz Avatar

I love almost everything Revlon that I try. The Colorstay foundation and the lip butters, obviously!

Physicians Formula has great bronzers and highlighters. Milano Luminoso is one of my favorite blushes. And the Wet n Wild Megalast polishes wear FOREVER and come in lovely shades.

Sasha Avatar

I’m bad in that I don’t use as many drugstore products as I should for budget purposes. However, I find myself quite happy with maybelline mascara and the define-a-line eyeliner (I hate sharpening eyeliner).

L’oreal infallible eyeshadows are pretty good and I’ve been using revlon lip butters and balm stains because I don’t wear lipsticks often and MAC lipsticks dry my lips out.

I’ve also been happy with eco-tools blush and powder brushes and drugstore flat lid brushes.

OPI and Essie make good quality nail polishes at a fairly reasonable price. Though I often find myself saving up for fewer HG polishes than a rainbow of cheaper polishes so ymmv.

Gabby Avatar

I do that with polishes too 🙂 Love Butter London so I use them as a sort of reward for myself. I find myself buying one really gorgeous color every few months instead of a bunch of cheaper ones from other brands.

t_zwiggy Avatar

I honestly haven’t found I single drugstore product I’ve been satisfied with so far with the exception of nail polish so I’m curious to see what everyone else recommends.

Malinda Jane Avatar

I’m currently obsessed with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks and the Kate Moss for Rimmel matte lipsticks. I think the quality and shade range is fantastic and at a price low enough you can try a ton of shades for the price of one high end lipstick.

Geneva Avatar

Milani Eye Tech Extreme liquid eyeliner, Revlon ColorStay liquid foundation, Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion mascara, Real Techniques buffing brush, L’oreal HIP lipgloss in Ingenue (discontinued but I called their headquaters a few years ago and purchased all that were sent back from various stores around the country), Maybelline Color Show nail polish and NYX Matte Lipcream.

Emi at Project Swatch Avatar

So many it’s hard to list!

A few of my all time favorites are Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners, Rimmel Scandal Eyes liners, L’oreal Infallible eyeshadows, Black Radiance Perfect Tone lipsticks, ELF studio line brushes . . . there are so many more though, especially when I think about specific shades rather than whole lines of products.

I think I use about 40% drugstore makeup and 60% mid/high end makeup. I own a lot of both, and use drugstore items every day.

I love CoverGirl products! Especially ClumpCrusher mascara and LipPerfection Lipcolor in Hot. It lasts FOREVER. I wore it to dinner last night, washed my face before going to bed, and when I woke up this morning, there was still some on. Oh, and I never reapplied it. It’s the bessssst.

Karen Avatar

Just about anything that Milani makes. Their eye pencils are wonderful; great colors, superb formulation. Also tried their new powder…absolutely as good as prestige brands.

joyce Avatar

For skincare: I’ve used the salicylic acid gel by Clean & Clear for years. It’s a good mask and exfoliant, since my face reacts badly to scrubs.

For makeup: my favorite gloss is L’Oreal Le Gloss (in the squeeze tubes). It’s such a comfortable, moisturizing formula! I also love the Revlon Lip Butters, I’ve already finished up and repurchased several colors.

Mathilde Dubé Senécal Avatar

Rimmel Stay Matte powder

Covergirl stay fabulous foundation ( FLAWLESS and costs 12-13$ I think)

L’Oreal infallible eyeshadows

Maybelline The falsies mascara

sophie Avatar

For lips its definitely revlon balm stain… awesome color and sooo moisturizing. Next would be covergirl clump crushers mascara! Awesome product!

Julia B. Avatar

L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. The mascara is super black, separates the lashes really well, builds volume, and doesn’t clump or flake.

Maybelline Color Tattoos. They are amazingly long wearing cream shadows that blend really well and stay put.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It mattifies the skin without looking cakey or powdery. It is not purse friendly though, for those who need to touch up during the day.

Revlon Lip Butters. They are really moisturizing while still imparting an even and sheer to full coverage of color.

I cannot attest to any foundations in a drug store range because none of them make any light enough for me.

Somayea Avatar

Probably the wet n’ wild megalast lip products + nail polishes and eyeliner! They last well and are really pigmented without trying.

As well as the E.L.F mineral eye primer, studio brushes, essential Zit Zapper, studio translucent powder. The zit zapper really works and it helped to get rid of pimples. The brushes are just amazing.

I also love the Maybelline falsies mascara, best one ever.

I’ve just started using the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer[since it’s in the states], and I love it. I like the Match Perfection concealer as well.

admmgz Avatar

The Rimmel Wake Me up products are in the US? Where did you find it? When I tweeted them, they said they had no plans to release it here yet..? I can’t find it anywhere

Faith Avatar

Most of my collection is drugstore, bolstered by a few carefully chosen high end products. I have too many favourites to name to be honest! Some current favourites:

– Rimmel Apocalips. Long lasting colour that applies beautifully
– Sleek blush. Some of the most long-lasting, highly pigmented blushes out there in a great range of colours
– MUA Undressed palettes. Pretty good dupes for UD Naked palettes and amazing in their own right
– Barry M Gelly polishes. They apply beautifully and come in such lovely colours
– Maybelline Colour Tattoo. Everyone raves about these so I don’t have anything new to add but the bronze shade is SO perfect for blue eyes

Alisha Badillo Avatar

My favorite drugstore beauty product has to be the new Cover Girl nail polishes. They are by far the best ones I have ever tried from the drugstore. They last long without chipping and are really glossy. I also love the Revlon lip butters!!

Aida Avatar

Nail polish: I love the Wet N Wild Megalast line. The formula is perfect most of the the time (I have 10+); I like the wide brush; they dry very fast to a very glossy finish; they are 3 free; only $1.99 or less on sale. I think they are a fantastic product. I also enjoy the Sally Hansen Salon Effects line.

Eye liners: Out of all the brands I’ve tried (high-end and drugstore), the Physicians Formula eyeliners (the trios) are consistently great. They always last in my water line all day, which is what matters to me the most, as I rarely use liner (pencil, liquid or gel) on my lash line (I prefer tight-lining); they are inexpensive (around $3-4 a piece), they come in enough of a color variety for myself (i.e. I’m not interested in hot pink or neon colors liners). A great product overall.

Eye shadows: I don’t really buy any drugstore eye shadows. I know there are some great ones out there, but I’m always put off by the packaging. I admit it, I’m a bit of a snob… I prefer high quality eye shadows that come in beautiful packaging, because if I am to use them everyday, I want to enjoy the experience… That being said, I have been purchasing and enjoying some of the L’Oreal Infallible eye shadows. I only have a few of them, but they are really beautiful; they don’t feel cheap at all; over a primer they don’t crease, don’t fade, they blend easily, a great product.

Mascara: Recently I purchased a drugstore mascara, which I think is FANTASTIC. I know a lot of people know of it, but it was new to me. It’s L’Oreal Voluminous in the gold tube. It rivals my HG mascara, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes, but I had to stop using it because my lashes were falling off excessively during the period of time I was using it. Apart from that, I think it gave me amazing looking lashes. Maybe I should give it another try…

Brushes: one of my most used blending brush is from Target (would that be considered drugstore?) and it’s Sonia Kashuk’s crease brush (not the long, fluffy one, I think it’s called the medium crease brush). It works great for blending out edges; it washes really well; it never sheds nor bleeds; it’s great little brush.

Brush cleanser: Dr. Bronner Peppermint Bar Soap. I LOVE this soap to deep clean my brushes (I pretty much wash them after every use, particularly concealer and eye shadow brushes; I rarely use foundation, so I have no dirty foundation brushes to clean everyday). It’s great, it cleans perfectly, it conditions the bristles and because of the properties of the peppermint oil, it’s also anti-microbial.

Sherrie Avatar

I am going to have to try the Dr. Bronner Peppermint Bar Soap to clean my brushed as well. I get the best suggestions/ideas from Christine and the comments. Thank you.

Dominique Avatar

Bourjois, l’Oréal maybe ? I don’t see any in fact, I don’t buy at drugstores very often. I prefer brands like Kiko or sometimes Yves Rocher or whatever. L’Oréal has much improved I think ( the nail polishes look great ), I have a L’Oréal lipstick I worship so there is no best drugstore brand, products are good either drugstore, middle-end or high end.

xamyx Avatar

I buy quite a bit of products in the DS range, particularly the more “disposeable” ones. Here is a list of favorites:

Mascara: L’Oreal Voluminous

Liquid Liner: L’Oreal Lineur Intense

Lipstick: I’m a fan of Revlon, Rimmel, & L’Oreal

Foundation: Max Factor PanStik

Powder: Coty Airspun (loose) & N.Y.C. Mosaic Powder Wheel Transluscent Highlighter Glow

Blush: Revlon & L’Oreal True Match-these are not super bright, highly pigmented products, but that’s what I actually really love about them

Brushes: Sonia Kashuk & Soho

Nail polish: Sinful Colors; I just discovered an *amazing* remover, which is the Up & Up Dip-it (Target house brand)-it takes of anything, very fast

Skincare/cleanser: Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Foaming Face Wash, Jojoba oil, & Witch Hazel

Eye highlight: Revlon Pure Pearl (I’m not sure if this has been DC’d, but I have 5 backups, LOL)

I have several other fabulous products, but the above are items I have bought many times over, and they just really work well for me.

Kalli Avatar

Revlon’s Colorstay retractable eyeliner in black. I have been using this probably for over 10 years. It’s just a great, basic black liner for everyday. It smudges easily (in a good way, I don’t like a sharp line on my lash line) but stays on all day. I hate sharpening pencils, so the retractable part is awesome because I feel like it get to use all the product. It doesn’t dry out either.

Alli Avatar

I am in actual love with Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain lip pencils. Every color I’ve tried has applied beautifully with buildable color. They’re fairly moisturizing and you could buy two for the price of one Clinique Chubby Stick. And Romantic has become my go-to red!

This Nikki is a NC30 Avatar

Ponds cold cream
Revlon Colorburst Lip Glosses and Lipsticks
ELF Blush/bronzer combo (for the bronzer, not so much the blush)

I’m undecided on Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliners.

Nicoco Chanel Avatar

Sleek and FashionistA powder products are generally brilliant – love their eyeshadows and blushes/bronzers to pieces.
Max Factor Masterpiece mascara is still the best drugstore mascara I’ve tried. And one of the best mascaras I’ve tried full stop (may be beaten by DiorShow Extase though).

A lot of drugstore brands are making amazing products lately, but especially lip products – there’s so many good lipsticks for lower budgets I couldn’t even begin. Loads of brands are knocking it out of the park, but I’d give special mention to the Maybelline Vivids collection (Pleasure Me Red is my favourite/power red at the moment).

Elle Avatar

I think it’s strange that the cheaper drugstore brands (NYX, Sleek, Wet N Wild) are better for most products to me than the higher end drugstore brands (Revlon etc) are. And the prices of the latter are just too high to me. I pay less than $20 for MAC Face & Body foundation. Why would I pay $13 for drugstore foundation?

For eyeshadows, Wet n Wild are amazing. For blush, sleek are ridiculously good for the price. NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils are fantastic. On the flip side, Covergirl lash blast is great mascara for a great price.

alyson Avatar

anymore i feel the same way.. drugstores have went up a lot in quality since i was a teenager.. i use almay clear complexion foundation, it blew away any other brand for me. i also like wet n wild anything and milani, nyx, etc

Kim Avatar

I love my MAC but the drugstore does have great offerings. I really like my maybelline vivids my rimmel stay matte powder and my revlon nearly naked foundation just to name a few. Btw on iPad so sorry for the lack of punctuation. 🙂

Carrie Avatar

It’s a tie! Revlon ColorStay foundation–it’s SO perfect for me and never breaks me out. And the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters! They are smooth, hydrating, and have excellent color payoff. I have about 9 different shades!

Nina Avatar

I’m sorry, but could you tell me how the lightest shade of the revlon colorstay foundation compares to Mac nc 15? (Is it lighter/darker, more yellow/pink?)

Shelley Avatar

I wear MAC NC15. In colorstay (I use oily/combo) the lightest shade is too light-it’s lighter and more pink than NC15. I wear the second lightest 150 buff. It looks kind of gray in the bottle, but looks fine on the skin for me.

Nina Avatar

Well this sounds (nearly) perfect to me since MAC nc 15 is too dark for me, but I guess it will be too pink for me 🙁 and I would have to buy it online, because revlon isn’t sold were I live and I don’t want to take the risk so I have to skip it :/

Mariella Avatar

By beauty product, I’m not sure if you mean skin care or makeup but for skincare, it’s a toss up between Vasanti Brighten Up exfoliator and Eucerin face cream (it’s the one for sensitive skin, I think). For makeup, it has to be Maybelline Colour Tattoo eye shadows but I also love Revlon Cherry Tart Lipbutter and the L’Oreal Infallible Cream eye shadows. Oh, and GOSH eye liner pencils.

Mariella Avatar

I dunno – it’s sold in drugstores only where I am and when you compare it to Kate Somerville ExfoliKate, it’s downright inexpensive.

Shelby Avatar

I’ve only found it in Rexall as well, but they also sell thebalm which definitely isn’t drugstore. Its just like Shoppers, they have high end and normal drugstore items. Drugstore exfoliaters are like under $10. I use St. Ives green tea scrub and that’s like $4

In terms of quality, these are the best and even rival some HE items in my book:
Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters
Milani Milani Liquif’eye eye liners
Maybelline Color Tattoos
Sonia Kashuk Brushes
Complex15 Therapeutic Face Cream
Say Yes to Carrots Tomato Clearing Mask

Milani Liquid-like and Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners

NYX nail polishes

La Femme and Jordana blushes

Wet N Wild eyeshadow singles (Nutty and Creme Brulee are favourites)

Sleek BB Cream and Rose Gold/Sunrise blushes (AH-MAZING)

Christina Avatar

Without question, I must have every Maybelline Color Tattoo, L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow, and Revlon Lip Butter that is released (especially those hard-to-find Limited Editions!). Physicians Formula Eyeliner Trios (both pencil and gels in Hazel Eyes and Brown Eyes) are my fave eyeliners; fave blushes are Milani in Corallina and Red Vino.

oh.no.pepper Avatar

I have recently tried the Eco Tools eye shadow brush set and I have found that they are very nice, softer and some what easier for me to use than the MAC brushes that I have (granted my MAC brushes are getting a bit old and probably should be replaced).

Jennifer Avatar

Everyone has already listed them but the Revlon lip butters and their balm stains. I wear them everyday and have a handful of them in my bag everyday. Revlon really hit out of the park with those two!

Lisa Avatar

Most Revlon lip products (except the ColorStay ones), Maybelline Color Tattoos & Vivids lipsticks, Rimmel ScandalEyes liners, Prestige Total Intensity liners, NYX Slide On eyeliners, cream blush & lipliners, Sonia Kashuk brushes and lipsticks, L’Oreal Telescopic mascara and several Neutrogena skincare products. I haven’t had the greatest luck with drugstore foundations, concealers or powders, but I think that’s because I’m just too pale.

MIrely Maldonado Avatar

LOVE:
Milani Milani Liquif’eye Eyeliners
Maybelline Color Tattoos
L’oreal Nail Polishes

I wanted to like the Revlon’s lip butters (I love the colors) but I found myself reapplying too often.

Brittany Avatar

-Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Foundation. Medium-full coverage, long lasting and flawless!
-Maybelline Plush Lash Mascara. LOTS of volume and length without the clumps.
-Covergirl Lipsticks. Opaque colour, lasts a LONG time.
-Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin. Best cleanser EVER. Very gentle, removes makeup and works on all skin types.
I used to work at Sephora for many years, so I own and have tried tons of high end products, but sometimes drugstore products just can’t be beat!

amanda Avatar

I really like Maybelline’s Fit Me powder, Color Whispers, and Color Sensationals. I also like Elf’s lip exfoliator and cream eyeliner. I don’t typically reach for these things though, I still gravitate toward my HE products 😛

Taylor Avatar

I am a makeup artist and I have used or still use all of these myself and in my kit:
Milani Liqui’eye Eye Liners (pigment, longevity, awesomeness, the gold is to die for) Maybelline Color Tattoos (Bad to the Bronze should be in everyone’s makeup drawer) Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks (better than Revlon Lip Butters as far as moisturizing goes IMO) NYC Liquid Liner (i use this every day!)Maybelline Gel Eyeliner (best alternative to MAC and Bobbi Brown) , WnW Color Icon E/S, WnW Megalast Lipstick (LOVE), NYX Blush in Taupe (contour classic), Revlon ColorStay Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss (AMAZING), Milani Color Statement Lipsticks and Lip Liners, Loreal True Match Foundation and Blushes, Maybelline ExpertEyes Brow and Eye Pencils (amazing for brows, not so good for eyes) , NYX Matte Lipsticks (Shocking Pink is my fave and a good dupe for MAC’s CYY) , NYX Extreme Lip Creams, NYX Butter Glosses, CoverGirl Eyeshadow in Mink (SUCH A GOOD CHEAP DUPE FOR ALL THAT GLITTERS!) aggggh there are so many that i love, i can’t remember them all lol 🙂

Ilona Avatar

I really like the Maybelline Color Tattoos as well. What would you say is the best way to apply the product to the lid? I also have the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Eggplant but don’t find it as creamy and easy to use as Bobbi Brown. Did you experienced the same thing with Blackest Black? Thank you!

Jessica Avatar

I have a few drugstore products that I really like… okay, more than a few!
1. Loreal telescopic extensions mascara – the first Loreal mascara that has ever worked for me.
2. Loreal infallible eye shadows in “blinged and brilliant” and “strawberry blonde.”
3. Maybelline color tattoos – my favorites are “barely branded” and “bold gold.”
4. Maybelline waterproof eye makeup remover.
5. Maybelline falsies flared waterproof mascara.
6. Revlon just bitten balm stain in “charm.”
7. Revlon lip butter in “peach parfait.” It makes me think of Donkey from Shrek… “Parfaits are delicious!”

Sarah Avatar

I would have to say that Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is a favourite of mine because it’s worth so much more. It beats out so many of my high end foundations. I also love the colour tattoos by Maybelline. Almost exactly like Paint Pots and a great range of colours too.

Foundation: Love love love Revlon Colorstay Whipped, I know that it’s pretty much love it or hate it but I love it and Revlon Nearly Naked. I don’t think I’ll ever try a high-end foundation, it’s something you use so often that if you find something cheaper that works for you, you should stick to it, I think.

Blushes: Wet ‘n Wild Color Icon Blushers! Everyone raves the Color Icon eye palettes, but these don’t get enough love, imo!

Mascaras: This is another instance where I can’t justify going high-end, tried before and was very disappointed compared to drugstore mascaras! Especially Maybelline One-by-One & The Rocket, both in Washable and Blackest Black.

Ellie Avatar

Wet n Wild shadow trio in Silent Treatment is super pigmented and is perfect for daytime for me… neutral color but rich enough to be dramatic. Also love Revlon Colorburst lip butters (especially in berry smoothie), Maybelline baby lips balm, and L’oreal infallible shadows (in bronzed taupe and golden emerald).

Meiya Avatar

-Clean & Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Treatment – I love this product. It’s a salicylic acid BHA treatment that works like a dream to exfoliate the skin, clear blemishes and unclog pores. This little $6 product has to be one of the best skincare finds I’ve made recently. And it’s not irritating to the skin. NOTE: if you’re looking for this, the cleanser is not the same thing – the treatment is the thing to get.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Foundation – loving this lately!

Ardell Lashes – the best

Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain – I’m new to the lip stain biz and took a chance on one of these. The pink color I chose really stained my lips, so much that it was hard to get off. Thumbs up.

Revlon Lipsticks – love them

Rimmel Lipsticks – loving them

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara

L’Oreal Voluminous Smouldering Liner in Black – really creamy & intensely black, yet the pencil holds its shape for defined lining.

No 7 Perfect Light Loose Powder

Taylor Avatar

You are so right about the Clean & Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Treatment!!!!!! I have sensitive, combo skin prone to breakouts and clogs and this stuff helps SO MUCH. The pH is just right for the salicylic acid to work properly as an exfoliant. I use it every day and even though it does have fragrance (annoying!) it doesn’t irritate my skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Actually the best pressed powder I have tried both high-end and drugstore. Wish it had better packaging though, although I just popped it out and into a ZPalette anyway.

Milani Blush – Love Love Love the baked blushes. Luminoso is my fave, also have Dolce Pink and Rode D’oro. I really wish they had more shades!

NYX Matte Lipsticks/Pencil Lipliners – I really like these lipsticks as I hate the feel of gloss, you can’t even tell you’re wearing anything. No faults on the packaging here. I actually think they’re prettier in all black than MAC packaging because I hate the rounded top on MAC lipsticks. Doesn’t work when you store in lipstick holders.

Taylor Avatar

my favorite powder too! I def need to put mine in a Z palette, but for now i just wrap a rubber band around the packaging (which is awful, please Rimmel fix it!!)

Kaitlyn Avatar

Revlon lip butters and BalmStains (as most people have mentioned.)

Revlon Naked foundation IF my skin is behaving. It’s perfect to just even out my skintone and make my skin look flawless.

Milani pressed powder (cheaper than most powders, great quality, and has the pretty design on the powder itself)

L’Oreal Infallible shadows (they don’t crease on me, and EVERYTHING creases on me)

Maybelline Color whispers

Jordana matte blushes (beautiful, not powdery or chalky and blend like a dream!)

Jordana lip liner in baby berry (looks great alone or under any color lipstick I’ve tried it with!)

Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color sticks (amazingly light on the lips and last pretty well too)

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster bronzer (the blushes are nice too) (I’ve tried plenty of bronzers, HE and DS, this one works the best for my fair skin. [for actual bronzing, not contouring])

Maybelline’s baked blushes (we should all start a petition to make them permanent. it’s really annoying that they only come out every once in a while)

Sonia Kashuk blushes

ELF $1 squeeze tube glosses (they’re the only DS glosses I actually care for, I’m not the biggest lipgloss fan and I typically only like HE lipglosses)

Hard Candy baked shadows

Wet N Wild eyeshadows and the ‘bronzer’ (*cough* highlighter) in Reserve Your Cabana (It took me a few days to fall in love with the latter, but now it’s a close second to Lorac’s Perfectly Lit powder for me)

Sheila Avatar

Maybelline has been winning lately. I really like their Color Tattoo Eyeshadows in Inked in Pink, Fierce and Tangy, and Tough as Taupe. I just picked up the new blush in Coral Burst and I plan on trying ColorSensational Vivids Lip Color in Hot Plum. And because of this site, I discovered Full and Soft Mascara, one of my new favorites.

Myriam Avatar

I LOVE the Rimmel Stay Glossy glosses, I have several shades. Endless Summer is my favorite, though, I have 4 or 5 tubes of this shade alone and I use it all the time.

Michelle Z Avatar

Great question! I love reading everyone else’s choices and deciding what to pick up on my next trip to the drugstore 🙂

My favorite drugstore beauty product is the Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner (mine is in Blackest Black). I’ve had this since last year (2012) and it has yet to dry out. I use it 6 days a weeks and store it upside down. For me (everyone is different!), the staying power is pretty awesome. I apply it at around 7 in the morning and take it off at 10 at night. That’s fifteen hours, and the creasing is minimal. I’ll definitely be buying a replacement when I run out. Love it!

(Hope someone found my mini review to be helpful!)

Brianna Avatar

The drugstore has been killing it lately! Some of my favorites are:

-Maybelline Color Tattoos are absolutely amazing. They could easily charge more for them, but I’m glad they don’t!
-Anything by Milani.
-Maybelline Vivids lip collection
-And my tried and true favorite, Wet n Wild’s Mega Liner liquid eyeliner

Wwendalynne Avatar

I do not have a lot of exposure to DS products and usually will only pick up something after hearing a specific recommendation. Drugstores here in the small towns around me are definitely no part of the drugstores I used to frequent in the city..so I’ve learned to avoid. I have to say I was recently very impressed by the Maybelline Vivids. I’ve heard raves about Maybelling colour tattoos and obviously read same here today. This will probably be the next DS product I explore.

Face: Elf Blushes (coral, mauve, tickled pink)
Milani Baked blush in coral
Elf HD powder (I use soooo little and it sets perfectly)

Lips: Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting finish (not matte, they had a terrible smell in my opinion) 08, 10, 01.
EOS lip balms (sweet mint and summer fruit, yum)
Revlon balm stain in ROMANTIC, honey is a decent shade too
NYX glosses

Nails: Essie, WnW, NYC are all good

Brushes: Real Techniques is lovely and ELF studio line is a 2nd runner up.

HOLY GRAIL!!!!!!! Nude Drugstore palette!!!! Got your attention yet?

ELF 32 in NATURAL! BUY IT. It has 99% perfect dupes for my entire Naked 2 palette even the matte shades. If I had the original Naked I bet it would dupe a couple of those shades too! I love it so much I bought a backup. Total cost for both = 5 bucks!! Gotta love when they have their 50%(or more sometimes) off sales.

Hands down, I have yet to find a powder I like as much as Maybelline’s Dream Matte Powder. I’ve used tons of high end products, but this drugstore find tops them all for keeping my skin shine-free. I’m also a big fan of NYX Lipgloss… colors like Beige, Tea Rose, and LaLa are in constant rotation for me. Revlon takes the cake in lip color though – 90% of the time my lip color is one of their lip butters or lip stains. Revlon’s base coat and top coat for nail polish have also drawn me away from more expensive products – nothing works better for me! While the whole line isn’t great, CoverGirl’s single shadow in Tapestry Taupe really is worth the $3. I’m also in love with their LashBlast Volume – such a great mascara!!!

Kayla Avatar

I think the drugstore has lots of great things to offer, I find some really great things that make it in to my rotation. I would say my collection is somewhere around 60-70% higher end and the rest being drug store. Some of my regular products:

Revlon Colorstay
Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette
Maybelline Age rewind in brighten
Maybelline Color Whispers in Lust for Blush, Oh La Lilac and Petal Rebel
Maybelline Lipsticks in Nude Nuances and Pink Pop
Rimmel Liners in Taupe and Nude
Maybelline Illegal Lengths
Jordana Fabulash
Maybelline Define-a-Brow
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
Revlon Nearly Naked Powder
L’oreal Primer
Wet’n’Wild Trios in Walking on Eggshells and Silent Treatment
Wet’n’Wild Palettes in Nude Awakening and Sparkle til Morning
Revlon Lipstick in Soft Nude
Revlon Gloss in Peach Petal
NYX Gloss in Sugar Pie

Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser. Maybelline Color Tattoo, in particular Bad to the Bronze (even though they need a little prep to keep from creasing). L’Oreal mascaras. EcoTools and Real Techniques brushes. Rimmel and NYX pencil eyeliners. Revlon Nearly Naked powder. Garnier Oil-Free BB Cream (but I wish it was a touch lighter).

I’ll chime in with everyone else about the Revlon balm stains. I like some of the lip butters but I *love* the balm stains. Also Milani eyeliners, the ones that were called LIquif’eye and are now LIquid Eye.

Also, I don’t think anyone’s mentioned it, but Cover Girl’s new 3-in-1 Outlast foundation is *amazing*. It beats out my Chanel foundation for wear time and appearance (haven’t tested them together though so that may just be memory). Highly, highly recommend it, especially if you have combo or oily skin.

Nikki Avatar

I have a few:

– Facial Moisturizer: Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin
– Primer: Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel
– Eyeshadow Palettes: Wet n Wild Silent Treatment Trio; Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette
– Single Eyeshadows: NYX Single Eyeshadows
– Blush: La Femme Blush on Rouge Powder blushes
– Tools: Sonia Kashuk brushes
– Hair: Shea Moisture shampoos and conditioners
– Nail Polish: China Glaze

These are all products I use on a regular basis, and I am quite satisfied with them.

So many great items lately 🙂 I love my high end items of course but it’s wonderful how many excellent DS items are out there…it’s leaving much needed extra space in my wallet for those can’t resist luxury purchases!

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows, Maybelline Color Tattoos, Milani Shadow Eyez Shadow Pencils, Milani Liquid Like Eye Pencils (the Black is absolutely perfect for tight-lining – just as amazing as my UD Perversion), Rimmel Scandal Eyez Liners in Taupe & Nude, WnW Coloricon Blushes, & Essie Polishes.

Gabby Avatar

Ooh and I really like the Real Techniques brushes 🙂 I don’t use them for what they are suggested to be used for but they definitely work really well and last if you take care of them.

Laurel Avatar

Maybelline master drama eyeliner in midnight master is THE BEST BLACK EYELINER IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!! I’ve used more black liners than I care to admit and this is more intense than the most expensive liners out there. Put down the UD perversion and go check this cheap baby out!

I use a lot of drugstore products because I’m cheap. Haha!

Skincare:
-Purpose Face Wash (HG status!)
-Thayers Alcohol-Free Unscented Witch Hazel with Aloe Toner

-Now Solutions Sweet Almond Oil 100% Pure Moisturizing Oil

Makeup:
-Maybelline Dream Matte Powder (I’ve already gone through 3 of them!)
-Maybelline Dream Liquid Foundation
-L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream (I was a fan of Asian BB creams before the BB Cream fad hit the states, so I was not expecting this to be worth anything. I got it out of curiosity. Surprisingly it has an amazingly light feel and actually covers really well. Obviously not the same as a thicker Asian BB cream, but good in its own right as some kind of cover product)
-Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Cream Liner
-Milani “Luminous” and baked blush in “Luminoso”
-Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in “Rush,” “Fairytale,” “Hot,” “Smitten,” “Divine”… basically the whole line.

L’Oreal Evercreme conditioning cleanser for curly hair. Works just as well as the $30 Ouidad version for only $6-$8. Not loving the smell but the one from Ouidad is just as bad. I can’t believe bargain hair products work on MY hair!!! Never before happened so thanks L’Oreal!!!!

For some years now, 99% of what I use is High end, however I use very often the jordana lipliner in 14 Rust, I find it´s a very neutral color that I can easily use, it is only good for lining the lip though it´s too hard to use on the entire lips, and I also like the concelear from Zan Zusi, it looks ok on me. I do also have about 4 drugstore nail polishes, one from jordana and three from no name brands that I like…but those are really all the drugstore products I have I really am just a loyal High end makeup worshiper lol 😛

I’m pretty sure almost none of you are going to know what I’m talking about but Face Of Australia makes the most awesome liquid eyeliners with a dip-brush; they stay on like crazy and they only cost like $8 (which is cheap for Australia, believe me!). Also I have this really great flakie topcoat from Australis that was really cheap and will generally extend my manicure by like 3 days.
I don’t really use many drugstore products at all since Illamasqua costs the exact same as Revlon here, to be honest. Oh, except I’m obsessed with Burt’s Bees lipbalm, I go through one like every month.

I am currently loving a lot of Rimmel products, including their Wake Me Up Foundation, MP concealer, eyeliners, Kate Moss lipsticks and setting powder in translucent! I am also a big fan of Loreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black and don’t forget about Revlon lip butters and Maybelline CS Vivids lipsticks!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Combination/Oily) is really good. It lasts all day. Unfortunately, even though there are a lot of shades, none match me. However, if you CAN find a match it is a great low cost foundation for oily skin.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good drugstore powder foundation, or just powder? I currently use bare minerals, however sometimes I would like something a little more accessible (I live close to an hour from the nearest sephora/ulta/dept store) and am looking for an alternative that is a little more budget friendly that I can keep for a backup!

I feel like everything else I have tried is dusty, chalky looking!

Nubian Heritage Body Washes: they come in great hydrating combos like Goats Milk & Chai, Coconut & Papaya, etc. Cetaphil face wash, lotion, moisturizers (face & body). HG product for my sensitive skin.

Lipsticks: revlon lipsticks (love them!), maybelline color sensational, NYX round lipsticks / glosses, wet & wild lipsticks – too numerous to mention.

Foundation: Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. My weekend foundation if I need makeup. So sheer, yet long lasting.

NYX lip liners are the best! I also like some Wet & Wild e/s palettes, particularly the vanity palette. Classic.

I love a lot of the products already listed by the replies before me. Some products that I LOVE that I generally don’t hear about online a lot are:

Palladio Eyeshadow quads (smooth, buttery–I think the formula is similar to theBalm Nude’tude shadows),

and Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine lip glosses (pigmented, no lipstick needed underneath, and sleek packaging).

reena Avatar

eyeliners :Annabelle cosmetics

mascara: loreal voluminous and covergirl lashblast

blush: milani(luminoso) and nyx (mauve)

lipsticks: lots of great drugstore brands! maybeline, revon, milani!

As for makeup I really liked the sonia kashuk blushes which sell at target, oh and of course my favorite thing right now is the Kardashian Bronzer at cvs which is $14.00/kinda cheap for the size you receive.

Maybeline color tatoo eyeshadows: work very well alone but make incredible bases for eyeshadows. In fact, I no longer buy MAC paint pots because of them

Lip liners: I’m particular about my lipsticks so I only wear MAC. Lip liner on the other hand, I’ve transitioned to Rimmel. Their consistency and color payoff is the same if not at times better than MAC. Needless to say the price point makes it that much more enticing, $3.47 at Walmart vs. $15 for MAC

mascara: loreal telescopic. I’ve tried all price point and was left just as disappointed with the $40 product as the $5 product. Loreal has the best pay off with lifting, expanding, and thickening lashes. Price point is around $8-10 at Target…depending on sales

Tools: I wanted an eyeshadow quad for the 4 shadows I use the most (1 for highlighting, 2 different ones for blending and 1 to color my eyebrows. I looked up the cost of the MAC quad palette and said ugh because it’s $10. Id rather spend that on new product. I Planned to purchase it over the weekend when I ran into the elf display at Target. They had a pallet there for a whopping $1! Yes, the top is not see thru but who cares! I just wrote the names of the colors on a label and put it on the back. It saved me $9 bucks and now I have my fave products all in one place.

I’m a pretty big makeup snob… I almost always feel that money spent on drugstore products is wasted, because I never like them enough to use them, with the exception of Maybelline mascara.

But, I’m so glad I found this thread because it motivated me to give a Revlon Lip Butter a try. Wow! It’s got to be the best texture I’ve ever felt in a lip product, high or low end. And while many of the shades did seem to me to have that not-quite-in-style feel there were still quite a few that work. I’m a convert!

I agree with the many readers that mentioned Revlon Lip Butters and Glosses – I believe these products can compete in quality and color range with high end brands. I also love Maybelline The Falsies Mascara and Ecotools brushes :)!

Other drugstore products I love are Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Oil Free Makeup Remover and Cleansing Towelettes and Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
