MAC Toying Around.Too bad it’s a LE shade!
Just so you know, MAC’s Mineralize Rich lipstick in Lady At Play looks exactly the same on me as Toying Around, and I actually think the formula is more forgiving for how it looks on the lips and seems to be a little longer lasting than Toying Around.
the best COLOR is mac vegas volt…however, it is nowhere near the best formula. i can make it work for a few hours by putting a ton of lip balm on, lightly applying, blotting, powdering through a tissue, and then reapplying. definitely not ideal. i actually returned this because i hated the formula and then bought it again because i couldn’t find anything else with a close enough color.
What exactly is the issue with the formula?
it sinks into my lip lines a bit. if feels kind of creamy, but it turns a little flakey (especially towards the inner lip so it looks like a have a bunch of gunk on my lips). it also makes my lips feel dry, so i can’t explain why powdering helped, but it did. i don’t get a long with mac lipsticks in general (not nearly as bad as nars though). if you don’t have a problem with their lipsticks, it might be fine for you.
No, I’m not the biggest fan of MAC lipsticks either. They catch on every flake so I need to exfoliate before. The inner lip gunk only happens with my lip crayons though. Bourjois’ peach on the beach and Revlon’s mischievous. It makes the product such high maintenance.

Mac sea sheer because it has right amount of color with warm undertones which makes it wearable for me without any effort 🙂
I think YSL rouge volupte shine in #16 orange impertinent is an amazing color!
Tough call as there are so many quality coral lipsticks. So I will go with an oldy that still gets rotation: Tom Ford True Coral. Classic!
I love the Lipstick Queen Endless Summer lipstick in Stoked! Normally I like bold, opaque lipsticks, but this one is a nice semi-sheer wash of coral with SPF and a glossy finish. My perfect summer lip.
Ooooh tough! I really loooove MAC Love Beam and Be A Lady. So those are two that would definitely be on my favorites list.
I agree with Be a Lady. I also love Eager and Cockney, also by MAC.

Guerlain Gipsy Rouge G is amazing and I’m totally loving it this summer. I also really like Bite Beauty Cin Cin, it’s not as bright and in your face since it leans more red on my lips.
MAC Coral Bliss, it’s the only one I’ve tried that goes with my skin tone. But it’s really pretty!
Chantecaille Lip Chic in Sunrise is till my standard go to coral. I have been wearing Dior Fluid Line in Rieuse,( which is a great coral) lately quite a bit also!
Bite Beauty Chablis! Not the most in-your-face colour, but still has that coral element!
I’ve been loving Givenchy’s Rose Dressing, especially for spring/summer! It really brightens the face!
I’m also a big fan of Rose Dressing as it has a good balance of pink and coral for me. Lovely.
Probably my rimmel london lipstick in 110. It’s non drying, high pigmentation, opaque, and smells like watermelon candies.
MAC’s Ever Hip! it just so flattering on my fair skin. LE of course so I’m still hunting for a proper dupe.
Coral lipsticks are among my favorite shades to wear. Right now I am loving “Classic Coral” by Southern Magnolia Minerals. It is hydrating, opaque, not too bright and only semi matte. It is a great color for summer.
Maybelline Shocking Coral is a favorite. Also Silk Naturals B-52 is a lovely juicy coral and Jane is a more floral coral. Both are bright without being overpowering and the formula is lovely.
Anyone have any suggestions for a flattering coral on very cool toned, very fair skin?
I’m in the same boat. Not really sure if it’s considered a coral, but MAC Peach Blossom is a favorite. Also, someone mentioned MAC Flamingo. I’ll have to check that one out

Take a look at MAC See Sheer. It’s very wearable if you don’t want something soft.

Great question. I’ll keep checking any recommendations. Any I’ve tried look hideous on me, simply hideous. So far I’ve only been able to go with a light peach.
I like Maybelline’s Shocking Coral if you like the very bright shades, but my NW10 skin definitely pulls the pink tone to the forefront. I feel your pain, though – I love coral, and it is just not NW friendly. ;-;

I have over 50 coral lipsticks alone so I have a ton of favs lol. MAC Vegas Volt is one of my favorites, but I think my #1 would be YSL Peach Passion. I’m looking to find YSL Rose Paris too because the color is absolutely GOOOORGEOUS. But I can’t find it anywhere…same with MAC Betty Bright!
I live on the pink side of coral, but my favorites are Guerlain Attrape-Coeur for a pop of color and Dior Addict Charmante for just a wash of pinky-coral.
Does Bite’s Blood Orange count as a coral?
I love mac see sheer for it being soooo wearable yet being slightly dressy. I love mac vegas bolt as well if I have to go for a bolder look..

not very common brand but my oh my those matte lipsticks are the best i’ve ever tried and #6 is gorggg. look it up online and on ebay.
I don’t particularly love coral lip products, but I do like Revlon’s Smoked Peach (wearable) or MAC Sushi Kiss (fun)!
So many to choose from! For summer, I’ll go with Mac Costa Chic. It’s a frost – rubbed into the skin, it is not visibly frosty and an inoffensive but bright coral. If applied full on, it’s gorgeous, frost in a good way and very bright pink-coral, medium dark. Amazing with a tan!
I’m loving Estée Lauder’s Defiant Coral too Christine. It’s so pretty and it’s the first Estée Lauder lippie I’ve bought in years. I also love how the magnetic bullet snaps back together when you close it (lol).

My favorite is MAC Hibiscus Kiss (LE), it’s bold without being too bright, highly pigmented and just looks so summery.

Been dying to get this one but I moved away from the Sephora I used to go to all the time. (sorta better for my wallet, at least in the cosmetics regard!) Next time I go, I’m definitely grabbing it. That and Stila Liquid Lip Colors in Carina and Tesora!

My picks would be MAC Crosswires or Vegas Volt, NARS Niagara, and Tom Ford True Coral 🙂
The only one so far that has worked with my cool toned fair skin is MAC Flamingo. It’s a light milky coral that isn’t too orange for my skin.

I wish the Estée Lauder Pure Colour line had worked for me, I had heard so many good things about the formula but when I tested several colours, including defiant coral, they were patchy on me. 🙁 Been loving YSL #33 – Rose Neilia.
YSL Rouge Pur Contour-Coral Poetique orange pink coral with satin finishes. I love many coral lipsticks but this YSL never make my lip dry 😉 it’s super moisturizing and the color stays for so long

I like Maybelline Shocking Coral but it pulls almost neon pink on my skin tone which is pretty tan.

Ohhhhh, Mac Ablaze is the same EXACT color as Watch Me Simmer but it’s a Matte finish so I’m love that one a little more….

How to choose?! I’m obsessed with coral lipstick. I love the wearability of MAC See Sheer and Bobbi Brown Carnation. For texture it goes to Givenchy Rose Dressing. My favorite brights are MAC Vegas Volt and Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral. See, I can’t pick just one.
My all-time favorite is MAC Toxic Tale. My favorite this year is MAC Teen Dream Patent Polish pencil.

MAC CB96 is a hugely underrated colour. It’s my first, and ’til today, remains my favourite coral.
Coral is a color I love but don’t wear extensively due to the fact that my undertones don’t let it stay coral. I generally only wear it in the summer months, and in my collection, I really only have two – Bobbi Brown Party Alice and Maybelline Shocking Coral. The former is great for a more muted coral and it’s just warm enough to avoid going pink. The latter is just fun and bright, though it definitely pulls pink on me.
Tom Ford in True Coral , its the prettiest shade ever out of my coral lipsticks . So strong and brightens my face .
My all time favorite has been MAC Crosswires, but recently I’ve discovered MAC Vegas Volt and Milani Flamingo Pose. Now, i can’t choose only one of them.
I’m a true NC42, I have medium dark/tan with golden-olive undertone and I loooovvvee… Dolce & Gabbana Cosmopolitan for true coral or Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral for pinker coral!

The best by far is for me Lip Stick Queen’s Stoked from the Endless Summer collection – sheer but still with absolutely visible color payoff, perfect non-drying texturen and SPF. But yes, the color is just plain amazing and suits my pale winterskin as well as my summery golden tan.
I love MAC Toying Around, MAC See Sheer for a more subtle look, or MAC Crosswires for a work appropriate coral.
