I have two favorite concealers for acne: MUFE Invisible Cover Concealer and Hard Candy Glamoflauge. With Glamoflauge, I can just dab and go, whereas with MUFE, I have to do some extra work to layer and blend. But MUFE looks less obvious. MUFE is thinner, buildable, drier and has less coverage than Glamoflauge. I prefer Glamoflauge on more stubborn, pigmented spots (dab and go!). I do notice that Glamoflauge separates on days when I get oily. Both work well on flaky spots as well, and they both do a good job of color correcting to match my foundation.

Glamoflage has lanolin and mineral oil in it and it broke me out like crazy. I guess that’s why it’s advertised as being for tattoos. The coverage is really good though.

I like Mufe’s full cover because it lasts all day! I also love Mac’s studio fix powder foundation, it covers really well and you don’t have to cover every spot individually!

Definitely Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. I love this stuff! Being able to mix colors is so helpful. And the coverage is great and lasts all day for me.

I love the coverage and lasting power of Cle de Peau! It’s expensive, but a little tiny bit goes a long way, and it really looks flawless.

Lauren, it doesn’t necessarily mean that MUFE is conducting animal testing. MUFE just sells in China now, where it is actually required by law to test on animals at the government’s discretion — Which means the Chinese government may or may not conduct animal testing with MUFE product, and by selling in China, MUFE is allowing them to do so.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Concealer!!! It’s 100% vegan and cruelty free, and (having tried both and owning both) I greatly prefer OCC to MUFE.

I got the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage a couple months ago and I like it but I have trouble covering specific blemishes with it. I warm it up with a hairdryer and then mix to get my shade and apply it with fingers, and that covers redness/hyperpigmentation well but can’t get the swing of blemishes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙂

High end: I really like Mac studio fix.
Drugstore: Maybelline fit me is my FAVORITE concealer for anything, but Revlon PhotoReady is a close second 🙂

I realey love MAC’s pro longwear concealer – it covers well and lasts quite long, but it does oxidize a little when it dries…

I’ve had moderate to severe acne for over a decade (finally clearing up now), and these were my favorite concealers to use:

+Physician’s formula green concealer treatment (i forget the exact name, because it’s changed)
+Kat Von D’s tattoo concealer (this will not cover tattoos, but it’s pigmented enough to cover blemishes)
+Too Faced Absolutely Flawless concealer (a recent discovery. If you have dry skin, this may not work for you, as the texture is a bit thick and sticky– it can be very visible on dry patches.

I have very problematic skin too and I second the Physician’s Formula concealer… I currently use the ones in the tubes (the green one & the regular concealer). My main gripe is that it seems to run too light. I need to find one where you can mix your own shade or something–don’t know if they still make that.

Other concealers I’ve used have had a nicer feel to them but this one is great at NOT causing more breakouts.

The Balm TimeBalm Concealer. I don’t normally have dark circles, but this stuff covers acne spots and angry bug bites like no one’s business. Very pigmented formula, which means I need a dab or two to get the coverage I want. I love the fact it doesn’t melt on me. I use a little bit of powder on top to get it to blend a little better with my skin.

I do not get many pimples, a few bumps here and there or the odd ingrown hair around my brows so foundation usually does the trick. Why do I find concealer seems to just draw attention to the area more so than if I just leave the darn thing alone. I personally do not reach for concealer for pimples for this very reason. It draws my eye in, but that could be me simply staring at it too. ha! I think if anything, I would be reaching for a colour corrector to put under foundation to keep a more uniform look.

The best concealers I’ve found are Nars Radiant Creamy concealer and Maybelline Age Rewind concealer. The Nars covers any blemishes I have, blends out great while staying opaque, and looks like skin. Since the Nars is so expensive, I end up using the Maybelline most days. The Maybelline packaging sucks with the sponge tip because too much or too little comes out at once. But I love the product. It layers well, blends out well, and is pigmented enough to cover most blemishes.

I have been loving lately the NARS radiant creamy concealer. And I have kind of bad acne and I can get away with using that and some MAC mineralized skin finish natural over it!! But if anyone from the UK is reading this, does Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection work good for covering acne?

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage & BECCA Dual Coverage Concealer. I prefer the latter simply because it’s the perfect color for my skintone & don’t have to trial & error with color-mixing like I do with the LM one. Both are excellent.

mac studio finish spf35 concealer. this covers everything, it’s very pigmented, lasts forever, stays on, and there are many shades to choose from. I especially like it for spot concealing acne because it doesn’t make the area look dry and crusty. It also doesn’t give me more acne than i already have.

My favorite for covering acne is hands down Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. First, I warm it up between my fingers then apply to the general area/ spot on my face. I use Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Concealer Brush or Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57.

My all time favorite concealer though, is Cle de Peau. So worth the money – lasts a while too!

Revlon Colorstay blemish concealer is one of the few products I repeat buy. I always have it on hand. The medium shade is perfect, not too yellow or pink, it covers well, and it stays on all day. I won’t use anything else, and I’m kind of a makeup snob!

Mac Pro Longwear is great cause nobody wants their zit to shine through only part way through the day. Stila Perfecting Concealer is another favorite and I’d say the coverage is a bit fuller and it’s more moisturizing but you can’t beat how long lasting the Mac one is. The Nars stick concealer is a last resort when I’ve out-paled the other two it’s the lightest I’ve found though I don’t like how dry it is.

MAC Select Cover-Up is the best one I’ve tried so far. I agree with MACs description of it as “Liquid camouflage for the skin”. It covers incredibly well, but it sets fast so you don’t have as much time to blend it as you do with, for example, the Studio Finish concealer (or any other cream concealer). But it stays on all day.

I tend to use MAC full coverage foundation or Cover FX cream foundation to cover blemishes! Partially because of the pale shade (NW10 and E0) and also because the thicker creamy formula really helps disguise the texture of the blemish as well as the colour. Vichy Dermabland Stick foundation is another one thats good but a little too dark for me unfortunately.

If I am using a concealer I’ll use Cover FX concealer (Extra Light) or a Quo Mineral Concealer in Light (Dual ended with stick and liquid sides which is nice, multiple uses!)

MUFE Full Cover is amazing for super pigmented spots. For drugstore options, I find that the Revlon Photoready stick concealer is decent – the coverage is quite good, but it just doesn’t last all that long for me. Lise Watier’s Porfolio concealer wheel is another one I own that I bring out sometimes – it’s a bit heavier and drier than MUFE, so you really need to warm it up and blend it out, but it’s got great coverage.

I’ve been using the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer for many years. I love it. I don’t use it on other areas of the face because I’m afraid of it being too drying; but I almost wish I could! It really covers and matches my skin well. Helps to heal the blemish too. 🙂

I’m using Kat Von D concealor now and recommend it to everyone with normal-oily skin. It’s waterproof and long long lasting. But if you’re looking for a cheaper option, try hard candy glamoflauge concealer, it’s comparable to Kat Von D, but costs only 6$!
