What’s the Best Concealer for Under Eyes that you’ve tried?

Share your pick!  And don’t forget to share why 🙂

I love OCC, Cle de Peau, and Eve Pearl’s Salmon Concealers! I find they have good coverage without having to pile it on.

I actually have a few that I love! MAC Prolongwear is amazing, so is OCC Skin Conceal (I use R1 to cancel out any darkness and it’s perfect!), and the Maybelline Dream Lumi something or other because it’s pigmented and it sets really nicely! No smudging!

Dawn Avatar

Nars Radiant Creamy concealer is the best! Especially for our dry winters here in the midwest, but also it really worked for the summer weather too, just applied less. I wouldn’t be without this one, it is a holy grail product of mine for sure!

Avalith Avatar

It truly IS amazing! I love it for undereye, and it sets but doesn’t cake, feels too heavy or dry out looking terrible. It’s great for other kinds of blemishes on my face; it’s amazing. Looks like skin but has enough pigmentation to cover most of my breakouts!

I also have and love the Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer. Sometimes though, I find that I have to go over it with something else or my under eye area can take on an orange hue in bright daylight. I will use a setting powder or a tiny touch of Amazing Cosmetics Concealer to tone down the orange hue a bit. The best concealer for my dark blue/almost purple under eye circles is the Ben Nye Media Pro Blue Neutralizer NB1. I don’t remember what I paid for this little pot because I have had it for quite a while now and it is still going strong. But I do remember that it was a tiny fraction of the cost of the Eve Pearl product. It never creases and stays on all day and all night too if I forget to take it off! I am an NC20 and this shade is perfect for me. You only need the smallest bit on the end of the concealer brush. Less is definitely more with this concealer.

I like Diorskin Star concealer (for more coverage) and Dior Skinflash (for everyday light coverage) because these are about the only two concealers I’ve found that neither crease nor make the eyeliner on my lower lash line melt. I love the CdP one for other imperfections, but it doesn’t work for my undereye area!

For years its been Bobbi Brown for the fact that it gently brightens up the area versus looking like a reverse raccoon. Drugstore brand Maybelline FitMe because its a close dupe to NARS Creamy Concealer…quick and easy to blend. And most recently Laura Mercier High Coverage Undereye concealer has entered my life…a pin-size head amount and I’m good to go. It covers all my late night sins.

Janette Avatar

I have great success with Bobbie Brown corrector with concealer. I have tried and like Cle de peau, just not the color choices. Nars Radiant Creamy concealer is nice, I’m just fussy about the way it’s presented. I have extremely dark circles and am always looking for the latest and the greatest.

Nancy Avatar

I love the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer! I have been using it every day since May and I still have quite a bit of product left. I just ordered a backup with the sephora F&F sale 🙂

For me, it’s a toss up between IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye and Clarins Instant Concealer (with a slight preference for the latter). I also like MAC Pro Longwear. I had such high hopes for Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer but I hate it and wish I’d returned the 2nd one I got….there is nothing radiant or creamy about it – it looks dry and cakey no matter what I do.

Maggie Avatar

I’m a also a huge fan of the formula for IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye but unhappy with their color selection. If you actually have a slight preference for the Clarins I’m going to have to give that a shot.

I also like Tarte Creaseless Concealer, Bobbi Brown Corrector or Concealer, and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind.

septhyneriadi Avatar

maybelline instant age rewind and Nars Radiant creamy concealer. The maybelline one is great because its thin texture but still have decent coverage, perfect for days when I dont want to pile too much make up. The Nars one however is perfect if you want a flawless face

Marte Avatar

My favourite is Clinique airbrush concealer, not the heaviest coverage, but brightens the eye area and doesn’t settle in the fine lines beneath the eyes.

Sheena Avatar

I just LOVE the Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer Treatment. It’s a great drugstore concealer and has an orangey undertone to correct the bluish hue of the undereye circles. It’s a great price, the tube lasts a very long time and its a longwearing formula (and I have oily skin so this is an especially difficult task for most of my makeup).

PS Could you write a post about your top primers for long wearing makeup? (And possibly setting sprays also?) Ive been looking into both high-end and drugstore primers and can’t find much on the subject. I also recently learned that there’s a difference between makeup setting sprays and sprays that are made to extend the wear time of makeup. Any info/advice would be amazing!! Thank you!! <3

Nars radiant creamy concealer and mac mineralize concealer..both spreads easily gives full coverage and sets…but i need mac pure orange corrector first.

Bobbi Brown Corrector and Bobbi Brown Concealer have been the best 2 products to use together. I only wish I could find a single product to save a step. I have tried many, but, not CP or EP.

Diana Avatar

I haven’t tried the Cle de Peau or Eve Pearl’s concealers but I was thinking about it until I rediscovered my Benefit Erase Paste. I think for the winter that salmon tackiness of Erase Paste works really well with my super dry under eyes and I can set without haven’t too worry about it looking to crepe-y or eyeliner smudges

Donna Avatar

I have really dark purple under eye circles and the only thing(s) that work is Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach under Nars Radiant creamy concealer in Vanilla. I use Bobbi Brown’s Tinted Eye Brightner during the day for touch-ups if needed.

Edith Thurman Avatar

I use Mirenesse concealer, it only takes a small amount and once you set it it doesn’t go anywhere, plus it has diamond dust in it to defuse the darkness under eyes!

Rachel R. Avatar

I haven’t tried very many, as I don’t use them much. Usually, if I’m sick or I’ve had too many nights of severe insomnia in a row. If I do, I just use e.l.f.’s Studio HD Lifting Concealer in Brightening. I need use only the tiniest bit to cover the darkest circles, and it dries quickly without settling in my creases. And it’s only $3.

Lynne Avatar

After trying everything for my genetic undereye dark circles, I love MUFE. it’s got lots of color options, which I find other products lack; it’s highly-pigmented without being heavy; and isn’t creamy so it doesn’t crease; and can be built up as needed. Big fan.

Sarah Avatar

I have had major dark circles for the past few years and tried a ton of different concealers. Oddly enough, I find that the best solution is Missha Perfect Cover BB cream with a few light brush touchups with the Cle de Peau concealer. The Cle de Peau is amazing, but I have actually had problems with it caking up when I try to use it on its own – one layer isn’t quite enough to handle my dark circles. And it’s only really noticeable up close and in bright outdoor or stark indoor lighting, but I’ve sometimes been surprised to see that it looked so flat and cakey if I happened to catch a glimpse of myself.

kjh Avatar

Eve Pearl, IT Corrector (Bye Bye looked like gray putty…returned), or Erase Paste, over PC ultra light serum, then First Aid Beauty Triple Remedy as a primer. Sometimes set with MUFE HD powder. Some days i try the FAB with the PC wrinkle defense TM, but by midday, it’s not enough. Salmon tones needed! Yellow based concealers always look that way…yellow. That’s how i realize my skin is still cool toned, by the contrast with the uggo yellow concealer. i am going to pick up the age rewind, though. it’s always well reviewed/received + liquid is mildly easier than cream: less brushwork. creams require 2-3 brushes, even if finger app was used! I admit to having a concealer box of at least 20 others, though. RMS from beautylish was a good formula, but the color is too light/yellow.

Denise Avatar

I used YSL touche éclat for quite a few years and liked it but then I read your review on Cle de Peau’s concealer and thought I’d give that a go. Result? Love it. A lot. It does the job nicely without settling into lines or making my skin look crepey. Downside: The price. Living in NZ where everything is super expensive in the high end market – its ridiculous!

Katherine T. Avatar

I like Cle De Peau, but it is hideously expensive! Good thing I don’t have really dark circles, so that $ 70 tube will hopefully last me 10 years

Gillian Avatar

My two longstanding favourites are the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener (in Porcelain Peach) and the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (in Fair). These are the only two concealers I’ve used that don’t crease on me.They set and stay put! If you have problems with your concealer settling into fine lines then definitely check these out. The best way to apply these is to dab some under your eyes, wait for it to almost completely set then blend out the edges. The tinted eye brightener in particular doesn’t have as much coverage as I need but when applied in this way it covers really well. I highly recommend both of these concealers. 🙂

Kat Avatar

Specifically under the eyes, I love Mac Select Cover-Up. I actually hate it anywhere else, but for the undereye area, it’s perfect. It’s very lightweight and texture-free so it absolutely will not cake or crease, but for that same reason, if I’m severely sleep deprived, it won’t cut it. Frankly, dark circles look better than caked on concealer so whatever!

Taylor Avatar

Right now, I use Giorgio Armani Master Corrector in the orange shade, with MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 over that. I have horrendous circles and have tried SO many products. I love the Giorgio Armani corrector – it’s super pigmented and is liquid, so it never creases or cakes up on my undereye circles. You can put layer after layer of that stuff under your eyes and it will never cake up. MAC Pro Longwear is awesome and stays all day without creasing. I set it with a little bit of translucent powder and I’m good to go!

AmyBS Avatar

I love the Loreal Visible Lift Blur concealer. It doesn’t settle into my fine lines and has a little almost gel-like bounce to it, if that makes sense, so it sits nicely on my skin. I set it with a little of Wet n Wild creme brulee and it lasts all day.

Alison Avatar

I have darker pigmentation over the entire eye area. I use a By Terry primer on the eyelids. For the circles, for years I used a Ben Nye product which covered well upon application but disappeared during the day. My current favorite is Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Eye Enhancer because it has excellent truly neutral shades which I have never seen elsewhere and it lasts. Not yellow, not pink. Prob is that it’s quite heavy probably due to mineral oil and I wish I did not have to use that ingredient. So on days where I don’t have to look super-spiffed, I use the Eve Pearl and sometimes Cle de Peau. I also have a By Terry which is too dark a shade for me, but it’s very moisturizing, so I keep that in my purse along with another of the gazillion concealers I’ve purchased for touch-ups.

Mariella Avatar

Is NARS launching a new concealer???? I see several references to “Pure Radiant” concealer by Nars and I’m wondering if it’s a new release/followup to Radiant Creamy Concealer because I’d be willing to give it a try, after the lackluster results I’ve been getting with Radiant Creamy Concealer. Can anyone fill me in on this? I don’t see it at the Sephora Canada site but that’s nothing new!

Carly D. Avatar

I wear my MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter Pen in Radiant Rose every single day to color correct, whether or not I’m putting any other makeup on. I have been enjoying the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer but MAC Pro Longwear is my default.

Irene Avatar

As a super fair skinned girl with yellow undertones and very dark under eye circles, Benefit LemonAid is my holy grail. Most high coverage concealers don’t match my skintone, so it’s a relief to find a product that corrects the bluish purple color instead of trying to just cover it with tons and tons of product. After using it, I always put a bit of foundation on top to match it to the rest of my face.

kate Avatar

Tarte Maracuja creasless concealer! all you need is a tiny dot to cover up- its full coverage, moisturizing and free of strong chemicals. Love it.

Patricia Avatar

I really like Guerlain Precious Light in 02 – the peachy colour. I find it really cancels out the dark shadows without looking cakey. If I need a bit more coverage, I’ll mix it with Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC3 and blend with a fluffy eyeshadow brush.

It seems that I am ALWAYS on the lookout for the next best concealer. The concealers that I currently own: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer; Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer; L’Oreal True Match Concealer; YSL Touche Eclat; IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye; Becca Compact Concealer; Maybelline Instant Age Rewind; and DHC’s Rose Beauty Eye Zone Retouch. I have super oily skin that tends to dissolve makeup after a few hours and under eye concealers tend to crease on me, and powdering afterwards can make it look cake-y [sigh]. What I’ve found that works the best so far is a one-two combo of DHC’s Rose Beauty Eye Zone Retouch Q10 in “Peach” (which I find to be a near dupe for Armani’s Master Corrector in “Orange) patted in to neutralize the dark circles, and then topped off with Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser. My dark circles are erased and creasing is very minimal. I don’t know if this combo is “holy grail” but it’s the best solution that I’ve found so far, and I’m pretty pleased with the results.
