Have you purchased from a brand collaboration even if you weren't in love with the products?
I purchase a lot of stuff I have no personal interest in, soooo, unfair for me to really answer. Generally, I don’t purchase just to “support” or to obtain particular packaging because I might have an affinity for the theme. Like if I want something from so-and-so franchise, then I’ll buy merch rather than makeup if the makeup product doesn’t seem good.
Nope. I don’t buy makeup I’m not interested just bc it has a picture on a piece of plastic or cardboard cover I like. That’s so wasteful imo
Nope, because as I said in earlier discussions about collaborations and collections, for me, it’s all about the products and so I’m after makeup that I like and will use rather than an association with some person or film, etc. Even if there were to be a “collab” with someone I like and admire, that wouldn’t be a factor in me buying the makeup. Closest I ever came (besides the GoT palette) was TRYING unsuccessfully to get Jealousy Wakes but that was as much for the glorious colour as for the association with Christine and Temptalia. Had it been a vibrant orange eyeshadow or lipstick, I’d not even have tried.
Sometimes I do purchase a collab out of pure curiosity, and because I know people who view my social media content will want to know about the collab. I have purchased a few Morphe influencer collabs this way, and because the concept was so cool, I bought a lot of the Wet n Wild Pacman collection. the collection itself didn’t excite me very much, but the packaging and concept was really cool.
I purchased the entire Hoodwitch/Smashbox collection because I like Hoodwitch and wanted to support a WOC creator.
Yes – the Safiya Nygaard lipstick collection from Colourpop. None of the shades looked good on me. I gave them all away.
Just did that. Haven’t in the past though. I saw a collab between Makeup revolution and the Friends TV show. I boughy the lipsticks, and the cute make up bags. Which I think I will be okay with. But I got one of the eyeshadow minis too and I don’t think I will like it much?
Nope! Because I have to love the actual MAKEUP inside the cute/beautiful/whimsical (or whatever it is) packaging enough to purchase the product. At the end of the day, it’s always what’s inside. Is it just passable? Or actually usable and well formulated? Do the shades speak to me and draw me into their color story?
No, I wouldn’t buy something knowing it will be a disappointment as makeup. I almost caved and got the Game of Thrones palette from Nordstrom Rack, but I’m so glad I just let the urge pass.
Yes ? I definitely didn’t need the blush/bronzer from the RiRi ❤️s MAC Summer release…but I got it anyway.
No. If I don’t like the makeup, I skip buying. I want to be able to use what I buy.
No I haven’t. I would never purchases beauty products I didn’t love and haven’t had a great review here on this blog.
The only collaboration I support is between I and my hard earned money. If I don’t like the product I ain’t buying it. If I don’t like the collaborator I ain’t buying it.
I bought a Mac Cinderella powder compact. i think it was meant to be a highlight but it was horrendous. chunky flaky glitter…I’ve NEVER used it. but i have no regrets. i love collecting limited edition compacts. I do wish i had gotten the eyeshadow palette in the collection but i think it was sold out by the time i made it to the store.
