Same here. 😆 I actually don’t follow that closely “celebrities” and if I like a look, I rarely wonder what they are wearing.
That being said, in the point of my life I was wearing nail polish, I was on the verge of buying those OPI shades the Queen of England wears. (I think it’s Ballet Slippers from Essie).

The only things Nigella Lawson is inspiring me it’s in the kitchen. Her recipes are so decadent in the most delicious way possible… now I’m going to waste some time on her website selecting a couple of recipes for the long weekend. 😆

I would definitely research the item if a celebrity whose features I admire uses products to maintain or attain that particular feature. The thing is, I remember researching, but I don’t actually remember buying.

I know I’ve purchased celebrity makeup artist recommendations from Lisa Eldridge and the last item I remember buying are Japanese lashes.

No. I’ve been made aware of a product because a celebrity used it (like the Besame red lipstick of Hayley Atwell); but if I ended up buying it, it was not due to the “stamp of approval” effect of being worn by a celebrity.

It wasn’t an intentional buy, it was an accidental gift. I’m a gub fan of the bassist Lindsey Way in the band Mindless Self Indulgence, and she wears the most beautiful shade of burgundy liquid lipstick, and I was gifted the shade from someone who didnt know I liked it! (Its Kat Von Disease’s liquid lipstick in Nosferatu. One if the very few products I own from her. It’s a good lipstick formula tho)

If a “lady of a certain age” actor has a MUA tweeting what products she/he used for a look I like (professional, understated), I’ll check it out for sure. I never would have tried an orange-y (at first glance) blush if I hadn’t seen it in use (Chanel “Frivole”) then checked it here, and it turned out to be perfect for me.

Yes, I bought the Nars Audacious lipstick In the shade Mona because Emma Stone wore it when she won her Oscar, and I thought it looked really nice. I also purchased Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Bombshell Red because I saw it on Gal Gadot, and I love Wonder Woman!

I think a long time ago I purchased some skin care off of an infomercial with a celebrity sponsor. I want to say it was Jane Seymour. Anyway, I haven’t purchased anything else that a celebrity either endorsed or wore. I can remember sitting in the movie theater watching Hidden Figures and wishing I knew what lipstick Janelle Monae was wearing!

Marc Almond mentioned using No 7 Lift & Luminate Day & Night Creams, and although he has access, as well as the means to purchase any products, these are the best he’s ever tried. He has incredible skin, and since I was looking to update my skincare around the same time that he mentioned it, I decided it was reasonably priced enough to take a chance. The Night Cream is amazing, as well as the Eye Cream, but the Day Cream is a bit too heavy under makeup, so I only use it occasionally…

No; I don’t think so. It’s usually the other way around. I use a product and learn that a celebrity likes and uses it, too. For example: Years ago, I used the La Mer facial moisturizer a lot. I subsequently learned that Jennifer Lopez loved it so much, she bought the whole line and nearly bathed in it. (Ah, to be rich and famous.)

Yep!!! And I almost burst out laughing remembering just now. When I was in my early twenties I read somewhere that Raquel Welch used Preparation H as an eye cream. She had very few wrinkles so I went to the drugstore and bought a tube. Didn’t rebuy it, but it wasn’t terrible. Didn’t like the smell, lol.

Haha, just the one: I got UD Gash eyeshadow because Gerard Way said he used it. That must’ve been ages ago. I still have the pan too! Never figured out how to make it look good on myself.

I have wanted to purchase a few different products that I saw stars wear in movies, so it wasn’t really the celebrity, it was the character that they played. One was an eyeshadow I saw in “27 Dresses” the other a lipstick that I now cannot remember the star, movie or character. (!)
I remember searching online to see if the info was available but I had no luck.
Other than that, no.

For sure. Back in the oughties, Paris Hilton wore MAC Prrr lipglass and so did I.

I’m sure there are many more cases where I was influenced by something they wore. I always did (and still do) check out the beauty and fashion pages of the weekly tabloids. I don’t care for the gossip so much but I like the inside scoop on the looks. But that’s the most clearcut case of a celebrity actually stating what they use and me grabbing it. I think it was my intro to MAC.

Yes once that I recall. Twenty years ago I liked the lipstick Monica Lewinsky wore during her Barbara Walters interview (Club Monaco Sheer Lipstick in Glaze). I had similar coloring: dark hair & fair skin so I thought it would suit me. I picked one up at the only place that carried CM cosmetics in my city & I did love that shade, the texture of the lipstick too. I bought a replacement as well before they discontinued the line.
