Have you ever had a moment when you fell in love with a brand a second time?

Have you ever had a moment when you fell in love with a brand a second time? What made you fall in love all over again?

Illamasqua when I tried their Intense Lipglosses — I didn’t know lipgloss could be that opaque, and it made me fall in love with the brand again!

Yes, but that love was short-lived the second time around. I used to love Lancome in the 1980s but got away from that brand. I tried several products in early 2009. By the fall of that year, I was “over” it. Still like the Black Coffee Khol eye liner pencil, but I’ve heard that shade is being d/c.

Oddly enough, I’ve come full circle on Wetnwild. I started off using their products because they were the cheapest, and eventually moved on to more expensive drugstore brands, then eventually high end brands.

But, it turns out that WnW actually carries some of my very favorite products – some of their eyeshadow palettes are really, really great, and worth a whole lot more than what they cost. It’s pretty common for me to use high-end makeup on my face, and WnW eyeshadow these days.

Bare Escentuals (aka Bare Minerals) – their foundation was the first “high-end” makeup I had ever tried and it was literally life-changing to find a foundation that covered well but also felt very lightweight (it also taught me to buff my makeup in rather than pat into the dusty/powdery mess I made on my face back when I was a makeup noob). I have recently received one of their Buxom lipglosses with a Sephora 500-point bonus and I am in love, it reminds me very much of MAC Dazzleglass and is the same price for nearly three times as much product – and they smell amazing. :3

A drug store brand, actuallly – Maybelline. I used it when I was younger, bypassed it for more expensive stuff later on, but now I use their mascaras almost exclusively. There’s just nothing I’ve found out there that does for me what Stiletto does for my lashes. It’s the only mascara I’ve ever used where I actually went through entire tubes within a six month period. 🙂

I’d have to say L’Oreal and Revlon! I used them a lot when I was younger, just starting off with makeup, and then I moved away from drugstore brands. Recently I’ve started trying out more of their products, and been really surprised and pleased! I don’t like everything they put out, but I like L’Oreal’s Infallible lip glosses and powder, and some of their mascaras. I also really like Revlon’s lip glosses and nail polishes. They both do versions of foundation that I can wear, but they won’t stay on my face the way higher-end foundations do, even with a primer and powder. Boo!
