Guerlain Tangerine Vlam (441) Gloss d’Enfer Maxi Shine ($30.00 for 0.25 fl. oz.) is a bold, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a hint of gold shimmer. MAC Ablaze is redder, brighter. MAC Electric Edge is a smidgen darker. MAC Riviera Life is more shimmery. MAC Morange is brighter.

If you were crossing your fingers that some of the shades in the new formula were going to be opaque, you’re in luck–this one is very nearly opaque with just a smidgen of translucency. The gloss has such a thin, non-sticky texture that still spreads really well, so the color still applies evenly and with good color payoff. Tangerine Vlam lasted for five and a half hours on me, which is better than the average gloss (four hours). It never turns sticky, and it’s nicely hydratnig and always leaves my lips feeling better after than they did when I first applied.

I quite like this shade! Not sure if it would like me back seeing as I have a light cool toned complection but it looks stunning on you!

I have this one and I do love it. I was nervous that it would be too shimmery, but it’s pretty understated on the lips. It’s going to be my go-to color this summer. I absolutely love the formula too.

Not my color–Christine, it’s absolutely gorgeous on you *g* I went to Sephora to see about buying one or two, but they seem to be missing some of the colors, including Cherry Swing, which was the one I really wanted.

I have a birthday check I need to deposit and I was going to buy myself something special with it, but I can’t decide what. I could get two Rouge Gs, or three of these glosses, or a LMdB kaleidoscope…anyone have a suggestion for something special around $100?

I have two Rouge Gs – Garance and Garconne. I’m thinking about more, maybe. I have yet to see a kaleidoscope that has four shades I completely love, though. Maybe. We’ll see. Or I could buy a couple really good makeup brushes – any you’d recommend there? Sorry for all the questions!

I love MUFE’s #17S crease brush. NARS’ smaller crease brush is nice, too!

I just feel like at $95, even if it’s a good value compared to buying LMdB eyeshadows individually, has to have all shades you’d use and love and so on. Maybe even just like for one of the four is OK but yeah. If you DO see one though, don’t wait too long on it since those tend to go fast and get really hard to track down!

Totally agree! And I don’t even use eyeshadow that often so I’d *really* want to love it before I paid for it.

I was thinking maybe of a couple Bobbi Brown brushes, like her blush brush and powder brush, too. That seemed like a good investment.

This shade is perfection on you, Christine. I’m yhinking it would go well with my brown skintone. For Ra few years now, I have sort of been browsing for a new orange gloss yhat has great pigmentation and lasts long. Back in 2009, at Sep hora, I bought Givenchy gloss in #13. And Korres Cherry Lipgloss in Orange. Both are a gorgeous sheer orange, that I loooved, and both were discontinued! Ugh! BUT, this orange gloss looks like a true WINNER! I’ll need to stock up as I would hate for it to be discontinued on me! Even my fave lipstick, Lancome in All Done Up was done away with long ago. I have to get them on ebay now. Christine, do you know of any lipsticks or pigmented lipglosses in a lovely pinkish plum shade for caramel/brown skintones? I need to update my make-up! LoL Thanks in advance!
