Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Matte Lip Color Swatches
Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Matte Lip Color ($33.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a new take on the Rouge G format with a “semi-matte” finish that has “intense pigments” and is “hydrating” and has “blurring powders.” They’re exclusive to Saks in the US (at least right now; I don’t have any specific details) ane exclusive to Selfridges in the UK. I bought mine from Selfridges, but apparently two of the shades under the product listing (#17 and #18) were regular Rouge Gs (but that I didn’t see listed elsewhere) and I’m missing one shade (#80), which wasn’t available at Selfridges. Here are swatches of 11 of the 12 Matte shades, plus two regular Rouge Gs that I have no info on!

Christine, they are already available on Sephora Canada website, under Rouge G (you can choose the finish “matte”).
I’m a bit surprised by this launch, as Guerlain has already a good matte formula -KissKiss Matte Lipstick – of which I already have and love Crazy Nude and Flaming Rose. It’s not a pure matte, but rather a semi-matte, very comfortable on my lips. Perhaps they are discontinued and replaced by the Rouge G Matte formula.
I like the soft effect, but I don’t see anything here colour wise that would have me putting in the extra effort to import to Canada.
Wednesday, they are available in Canada, on Sephora’s website. If you go to “Rouge G Customizable Lipstick”, you will see 12 shades under “Matte finish”.

When I first read the copy I glossed over the “semi” matte and looked at the swatches and thought they didn’t look very matte to me. Lovely shades, several in my preferred colours but certainly don’t need any more lipsticks unless they are amazing and an unusual colour. I am pretty happy with my PMGL lipsticks so likely not going to get any of these but I am interested in how they review. I can’t say I would never purchase one in the future!!
Some very pretty shades here, but I find they are too expensive for me. But I hope they are good for those who love them.
Of the shades that I do like or that would look really good on me, I’ve got a feeling that I probably already have those as dupes. True, I won’t know that for sure until after your reviews of them, but I spot my usual favorite tones.
#26 is really beautiful , I wonder what the difference is between these and the Kiss Kiss Matte.?
