Guerlain Peach Satin (540) Kiss Kiss Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Guerlain Peach Satin (540) Kiss Kiss Lipstick
Guerlain Peach Satin (540) Kiss Kiss Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a softened, medium tangerine orange with fine gold pearl and a luminous sheen. MAC Style Approved (LE, $22.00) is pinker, less glossy. Givenchy Corail Signature (317) (P, $36.00) is darker, redder. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Kimber (P, $18.00) is more muted. Paul and Joe Beaute Once Upon a Time (081) (LE, $17.00) is similar. MAC Tart & Trendy (LE, $16.00) is darker. MAC Sounds Like Noise (LE, $16.00) is darker, more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The Kiss Kiss formula is supposed to be hydrating with a “fine, even, and rich creamy texture” with “impeccable hold.” For me, they are in-between the Rouge and Shine Automatiques in terms of feel and color coverage. They tend to have a bit of translucency to them, so they’re not as pigmented as the Rouge Automatiques, but they’re more pigmented and less glossy compared to the Shine Automatiques. Rouge Gs are creamier and more hydrating, and they’re typically a little more opaque. Peach Satin is mostly opaque with some translucency where the natural lip color will come through. It was creamy with noticeable slip and glided on easily, but it was a formula that would show “lines” if you press your lips together and could have applied more evenly. It wore well for four hours on me and was hydrating, but it’s not particularly long-wearing. The formula has a violet scent but no discernible taste.

I saw this and wanted it.. This from the person who can’t wear orange. Something about this shade appeals to me. It’s not my favourite Orange on you, curiously enough which makes me wonder if it might actually be something I can wear. All the oranges that look fantastic on you wash me out.. hmm..tempting. I like the lightness and slight sheerness of the KissKiss formula (I bought my first in this formula with that recent Red either this fall or holiday season that had a hint of shimmer in it..really super pretty)
Perhaps the stronger yellow tones (vs. red tones in most oranges) will work better on you!
Pretty color for spring but for the price, it shouldn’t show lip lines
I wish it was a bit more event!
I LOVE this color! Peach and coral are my go-to for spring/summer. I can’t wait for spring to break these out!
Yayyyy! 🙂
Very pretty. But too pricey for just ok!
Agreed!
Very pretty Christine!
Thanks, Indya!
This post reminds me. I should pull out OCC Kimber more often…
Kimber 😀
I like the colour in the tube, but I don’t know if I would like it on me.
It is an interesting color!
I think it looks great! I actually love that it’s not super opaque.
I like the coverage of the Kiss Kiss range – I think it can be very pretty when it works well.
SO pretty! The texture looks delicious (lol :P)
Haha!
For weeks I lamented about missing out on Rosy Silk (just based on how it looked in the tube, I hadn’t looked up any swatches or anything). This made me look for your review on Rosy Silk…which made me feel better about missing out as it doesn’t come across in person the away I thought it was. Peach Satin, on the other hand, is quite a nice, soft peach..but I already have similar in my collection. 🙂
Thank goodness you have something similar! 🙂
Too orange for me but it’s sure pretty!
It is a fun pop of color!
Is this a new color to the range? Bring on more colors, I love this formula. This color might be too bright and yellowish for me but I am really drawn to it for some reason.
It is a new & limited shade for spring!
What a unique shade of peach. Probably too yellow-orange for yours truly, but I do like how it looks on you.
Thanks, Rachel!
So pretty. This is the perfect orange lipstick imo
Happy to hear it 😀
this color is surprisingly flattering on you, despite it being ORANGE
Thanks, Jessica!
I think this is way too orange for most people to wear – and I do wear orangey-red lipstick at times.
It’s certainly a more unique color – most oranges you see are orange-red!
Awww, darn it! I was doing so well too with not wanting much this year but this lipstick just broke one of my New Year’s resolutions because I covet it now! Looks really pretty on you, Christine. A little part of me is worried though that if I do somehow manage to gather enough money to get it, something tells me it won’t fit my complexion. But I guess that’s what the almighty lip pencil is for.
Awwww!
For sure, a lip pencil will always help tweak a color to be more flattering, I think!
There is… a lot of yellow in this orange. Oddly, though, the sheerness and softness (haziness? I can’t quite describe it) of the colour kind of save it. I’m still convinced I’d look ill in it, but like chartreuse, that doesn’t stop me kind of really liking it 😉 The colour though. Liplines can take a hike, LOL!
The perils of having such a luminous finish!
I’m really digging this shade of orange. It looks vibrant and fun. Like the perfect summer lip!
That’s so true, Fancie 🙂 Nice for spring or summer!
Absolutely beautiful! Almost like a peach creamsicle is those even exist. Looks like I’m going to need more than just Baby Rose. 🙂
Creamsicle definitely comes to mind!
I how guerlain fragrance everything with violet. It’s such a nice touch.
Glad ya like the scent!
Pretty! I might have to try my first Guerlain lipstick for this one, I don’t have any shades like this and I’m a big fan of oranges/corals, this looks soft and wearable to me.
