Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick: Grenade

Guerlain Grenade (65) Rouge G Lipstick ($46.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a brightened raspberry pink with soft pink micro-shimmer and a glossy sheen. True to the Rouge G formula, the color itself is opaque without being heavy. With such a rosy hue, it works well with cooler skin tones, but since it doesn’t have strong blue undertones, it flatters warmer skin tones, too. It applies evenly and smoothly, with rich color delivered in a single pass.

The first dupe I could think of was Dior Raspberry Serum de Rouge, which is more muted and less pink, but I think it may be close enough for those wanting a more palatable price tag.  Chanel Rouge Orage Rouge Coco is also similar but pulls almost coral in comparison.

Rouge Gs are pricey, mostly due to the fancy packaging, which includes a heavy metal case, with a top that slides off and flips open to reveal a mirror. Though I’ve heard about refills “coming soon,” I’ve yet to see them come through (it would be nice!). The lipstick formula is one of my favorites–so soft and smooth, rich in color, moisturizing on its own, and lasts four to six hours (lighter shades closer to four, darker shades closer to six). They do have a fruit-floral scent (but no taste), which is a bit heavy-handed, so for those who are more sensitive to scents, you may want to see if it is one you like first.

I love bright raspberry! Second from pinky-peach ,though! lol
I think this kind of color looks ‘red’ but yet not too bold or intense that makes it more wearable for me.
And it’s sure looking GREAT on you!

Thank Guerlain if refils will be available soon!

*not related to the post* I’m not sure if I missed it ,but I haven’t seen you rating Cle De Peau lipsticks. It’s not been in “lipstick comparisons” series ,too. I wish to see its grade point from you someday if you have time. 🙂

Ooh, I would LOVE it if Guerlain offer refills.

I’ve been waiting for this review, not to decide on buying it or not, but to see if anyone is as crazy as me on this shade – I’m absolutely in love!
..And it does flatter the warmer skin tones. (I’m NC30 – NC35 with yellow / bronze undertones)

this is lovely. appears a little lighter on me. i got a lovely everyday pink today – rouge dior in devilish pink. it just brightens up my face a little

This color looks beautiful. I might check it… I do like the idea of refills, and will like to see how it develops and works. The packaging is good enough for a couple (or a lot) of uses 🙂

Holy crap, that is GORGEOUS! (adds to wishlist)

I’m constantly amazed at how fantastically wearable the whole Rouge G line is – usually with a lipstick line I’ll find one or two colours I fall in love with and just have to have, but with Rouge G’s I’m at 7 and counting…

yeah i love several of the colours. BUT i think overall they suit warmer skin tones. There isn’t really a cool medium pink – most of them are warm or neutral. I have gaela which is neutral slightly warm pink. its lovely but in some lights it can look a little yellow on my lips

My boss gave me a GC from Sephora for my birthday last week and I wanted to use it,taking the opportunity to finally get a Rouge G. I was considering this color seriously, as it is so beautiful and I am a fool for LE shades. I am quite fair (NC15) and tend to do a smokier eye look so I ordered Gentiane instead, but seriously this is so gorgeous on you!

That is a beautiful colour on you.

I have yet to invest in a Guerlain Rouge G but will definitely get my man do pick one up when he’s overseas next (he’s my makeup mule hehe) because these beauties are priced around AUD70 here *ouch

H’mmm, I don’t know… It’s listed in your post from March 10 last year when it was launched…

I thought there were only 3 LE Rouge G’s, Gems and Grace and the gorgeous red Giovanna for Christmas last year? Though I may well be wrong because I seem to remember two LE releases, but only 3 names, so you’re probably right – I mean, you ARE the beauty guru – if any knows, it’d be you! 🙂

I had a gift certificate for a luxury department store in my country and I decided to go big and spend it on this shade. Soooooo happy with it. 😀
