Guerlain Gillian (14) Rouge G Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Something Everyone Can Wear

Guerlain Gillian (14) Rouge G Lipstick ($46.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light pink muted with brown shimmered with champagne sparkle. It’s mostly opaque, despite its lightness in overall color, with a high gloss finish (seems glossier than the average Rouge G). It’s such a your-lips-but-better kind of pink. Gillian is the complete opposite of Gigi!

This is a universally flattering shade, because it’s a neutral pink that’s light without being pale or pastel. It has the same lightweight texture and creamy, smooth consistency as found in the Rouge G line. (I have not had a single Rouge G disappoint me in terms of feel, formula, or texture!) I know for some, this is a “So what?” kind of shade that doesn’t justify the price tag, but for others, it’s a shade they’ll wear often and merit the cost.

This totally reminds me of the first lipstick I ever bought. I remember it was a Revlon in a green tube…. 🙂

I still love this kind of colour. Especially if you want to look “together”, yet not made-up.
Steep price though.

Your swatch of Rush is very different to how it looks on me (and also on KarlaSugar), I wonder why that is. Although having now seen your lip swatches it’s much frostier and a little darker.

My name is Gillian, therefore I just have to have it 🙂 Is Guerlain makeup available in the UK do you know? Loved the post, very clear and in depth. x

It is available! You can find Guerlain counters in bigger Debenhams, House of Fraser, Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, etc. You can also order online from Debenhams and John Lewis. I buy a lot of Guerlain make up from eBay, but you really need to know your stuff because there are fakes around! Hope this helps.

I have this and enjoy the pretty, natural look that it gives. Thanks for introducing me to the Rouge G’s. I love them. They are now one of my favorite lipstick lines (my wallet is not so happy though!)

This shade is really wearable and very fall-winter like !
It’s a good choice for people like me who want to follow the fall trends but hate the idea of wearing a dark lipstick !
The formula of this lipstick is brilliant !!

Christine–this looks lovely on you! For me (NC 15/ Chanel Intensity 1.0) this is an HG nude. I keep in my purse because it seems to look right with almost anything.

It is such a great go-to. Like part of me resonates with only buying unique colors at $46 kind of prices, but then realistically, don’t you want to use all of that $46 lipstick? So then a shade you’d actually wear regularly makes more sense!

I love your rouge g reviews! I think this is too brown for me though. I looked at the YSL Rouge Volupte today in forbidden Burgundy and I think I might get it next week. You have totally introduced me to lipstick, I never wore any before I started reading Temptalia a few months back and now i’ve loads! I love all the recommendation though!

Perfect princess pink! That would look good with anything from a bright purple or green eye (or blue, hah!), full on smoky, mod look or… just about anything.
I’d buy that in a heartbeat!

This reminds me of an LE MAC lipstick in Pink Apertif from years ago. I absolutely loved it and when I was running out, I bought 3 back ups. I’m now down to the end of my last backup and have been on the search for something similar in color and texture for a while and now I’ve think I found it (smiling yet crying at the same time). Oh why does it have to be something $46!?!
