I just wrapped up testing two more shades from Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.), which has a staggering twenty-five shades to choose from. I haven’t spotted it at too many retailers yet, but Saks has it online now at least. You can check out my first review from earlier this week if you missed it. The KissKiss formula falls somewhere between Rouge Automatiques and Shine Automatiques; it has more of the slip and feel of the Shine (and also a glossier finish), but the color payoff is more in line with the Rouge. I don’t think they are comparable to Rouge Gs; they have a thinner, more emollient consistency and wear shorter (on average). They have a violet scent but no discernible taste.

Forever Brown (305) is a medium-dark, plummy-brown with warm, red undertones and a very subtle, gold micro-shimmer (it looks glossy but not really shimmery). It had mostly opaque color coverage–there’s a very light translucency that gives the formula a lighter look on. The color wears four and a half hours, and it was lightly hydrating on me. Estee Lauder Decadent (150) (P, $30.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Bobbi Brown Plum Shimmer (3) (P, $25.00) is cooler-toned, less red, more shimmery. Maybelline Untainted Spice (950) (P, $7.49) is more muted, cooler-toned. MAC Rusty (LE, $20.00) is redder, brighter. Too Faced Sweet Maple (P, $22.00) is much lighter. Givenchy Brun Cachemire (104) (P, $36.00) is lighter. Chanel Farouche (122) (P, $34.00) is slightly darker, more matte. MAC Sheer Plum (P, $16.00) is sheerer. Chanel Imperial (DC, $32.00) is more plum, less brown. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Starling (P, $18.00) is darker, warmer. Make Up For Ever #20 (P, $19.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Rouge Kiss (325) is a brightened, coral-red with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. This shade didn’t appear to have any shimmer, for those who prefer their lipsticks to be shimmer-free. It had mostly opaque color coverage that looked and felt lightweight and comfortable. It lasted for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating. Guerlain Geneva (48) (P, $51.00) is more orange. MAC Toying Around (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Dior Sunset (660) (LE, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Estee Lauder Defiant Coral (P, $30.00) Bite Beauty Crush (P, $28.00) is more matte, lighter. Givenchy Rose Dentelle (203) (P, $36.00) is more muted. Maybelline Shocking Coral (P, $7.49) is pinker. MAC Lady at Play (P, $22.00) is slightly more orange. MAC Hibiscus (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel (LE, $51.00) is slightly redder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I’m really feeling these rusty brows for this fall. I think Forever brown could work, but eyeballing the Estee Lauder dupe because I like the formula and it has fuller coverage. I think these red browns are a great way for me to hit this warmer lip trend for Fall 2014 without treading into the more orange brown territory which is wickedly unflattering against my skintones.

The second one is screaming out at me. That will pull me right into fall quite nicely. I asked my local Dillard counter and the mrg is waiting for her stock to arrive. They will have to reset the counter for it. Super excited. Something different as its been all about Chanel and Dior these past few months.

These look really good on you! I was a little iffy about the first color when I saw it but it looks so good! I think I might go with the second one…it screams summer! And I’m on watermelon-coral-orange color binge

They are both wearable and very pretty, I think. I prefere Rouge Kiss. I guess I don’t really want to think about fall just yet.
I still don’t think I’ll buy anything from this line as I find them on the expensive side, and the weartime isn’t all that long.
