Guerlain Cygne Blanc (11) Ecrin 2 Couleurs Eyeshadow Duo Review, Photos, Swatches
Guerlain Cygne Blanc (11) Ecrin 2 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Guerlain Cygne Blanc (11) Ecrin 2 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.14 oz.) includes a light warm pink paired with a warm, metallic white. Neither shade was great; they weren’t total misses, but they should be more pigmented and smoother in consistency. They apply and look better on the lid in practice than merely swatched, which is always nice, but they’re still a little disappointing.
Cygne Blanc #1 is described as a “silvery ballerina pink.” It s a light pink with warm, yellow undertones and white shimmer. It had so-so color payoff with a soft, silky, but slightly powdery, consistency. On me, the color wore well for almost eight hours before fading. LORAC Blush (LE) is similar. Too Faced Kindness is Free (LE, $16.00) is darker. Ulta Pink (P, $10.00) is lighter. MAC Sweet Allure (P, $15.00) is similar. Too Faced Taffy (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Minor Sin (LE, $18.00) is similar. MAC Cheryl Chic (LE, $15.00) is darker. MAC Sensibility (LE, $15.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Cygne Blanc #2 is described as a “frosted white.” It s a brightened white with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was very soft and dense, but it didn’t go on quite as smoothly as I expected. It will blend and even out, but the texture made it seem like it was going to be perfection. It wore well for eight hours before creasing slightly. Make Up For Ever ME122 Snow (P, $21.00) is similar. Make Up For Ever D200 Crystalline Mauve Turquoise (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. Make Up For Ever D124 Crystalline White (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. theBalm #11 (P, $6.50) is similar. Tom Ford Beauty Ice Queen #1 (P) is cooler-toned. theBalm Envious Erin (P, $16.00) is warmer. MAC White (P, $21.00) is less metallic. Inglot #453 (P, $6.00) is cooler-toned, brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

These are not my colors anyway, so I’m not too bummed out that the quality is just so so. Love your eye look though!
Phew! 🙂
Pretty, but it’s a no for me. grades not nearly good enough to buy. I could see this as a quad with the other duo, and better performing products. Then I would have loved it.
I really thought Guerlain wouldn’t get as bad grades as these got.
I’m not a huge fan of their eyeshadows – most of the time they’re good but not great. There are a few they’ve done that I really like, though.
For nigh on 50 bucks, not only does this not deliver quality wise (I’ve got a pink shadow from Wet n Wild that is better than this), but it’s also just not very exciting at all. Maybe as part of a quad with 2 more dramatic colours, I’d be interested but like this – snore!
Yes, it is an odd pairing, IMO! I quite liked it with the Cygne Noir duo, but I didn’t think either alone was as interesting.
That is disappointing at this price point but the shades look really pretty on your eyes!
Thanks, Agata!
I’m a fan of this color combo – I’ll use ballet slipper pink and a light gray on a quick & easy kind of day – but if you’re going to do basics like these, they need to be spot on at this price. Too many better options for cheaper out there!
So true, Carrie!
Nonononononooooo. This is a luxury brand… I think it’s fine to expect consistently good quality! Especially for an eyeshadow duo at $50. Guerlain can do better.
Agreed!
Oh… REALLY not worth it.
🙁
The palette is meh but I love the look you created!
Aw, thanks, Fancie!
Don’t like the pink/frosty white color combo or the grades. Guerlain can do better.
I wish it had more contrast!
I like the blanc shade.
LOL! That’s 50%!
This duo is very soft and pretty, but not enough to pay the price. I was thinking the same as Helen, these would be nice in a quad with the Cygne Noir, and of course higher quality.
Yes, the two duos work really well together, but standalone… neither has enough contrast (for a duo).
Exactly.
Gorgeous on you Christine!
Thanks, Sue!
What strange colours to put into a duo. It was like the last one – two very dark colours and this one is too very light colours. I don’t think anyone would buy this because of a very pale pink and white. Most quads or palettes (Naked Vices, Smashbox etc) nearly always contain a white and/or a soft pink, so I don’t think this is a winner at all. And I love Guerlain – the fact that the quality is very meh is so, so disappointing.
They work well together, so it seems like Guerlain should have done a quad!
Reading through the comments, it seems I’m standing with the majority! the look you did with the two duos is fantastic, and I think they would make a good quad set. However, for the price you’d be wanting a little better in the quality department!
