Guerlain Bee Rouge G Le Brilliant Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Guerlain Bee Rouge G Le Brilliant Lipstick

Guerlain Bee Rouge G Le Brilliant Lipstick

Guerlain Bee Rouge G Le Brillant Lipstick ($46.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a stunning shade of lightened wine-berry with subtle fuchsia and pink micro-shimmer and a glossy finish. This is a gorgeous hue that works well on cool, pale toned skin to warmer, deeper skin. The subtle glimmer of the shimmer and shine give lips a fuller, rounder look while de-emphasizing lip lines.  The color itself is nearly opaque, which is a bit surprising given the Brilliant line, but with a color like this, it works.  If it were sheerer, it may have looked blotchy.

The Rouge G Brilliant formula is like a lipstick and lip gloss hybrid in the way it looks and feels; it holds on and wears like a lipstick (three to five hours) but has the shininess of a lip gloss. It’s also moisturizing and doesn’t emphasize lip lines. Like the Rouge G lineup, though, these have a rosy-fruity scent to them.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The way the color flatters a variety of skin tones, the general feel of the Brilliant formula, and the smoothness and quality just really make this one of the best shades I’ve come across from either the Brilliant or original Rouge G line-up.

I picked this up and put it down so many times! I really liked the colour (though it looks darker and more purple on me, damn pigmented lips) but as its quite vampy I couldn’t justify the fact that I would only wear it a couple of times! I have only wore my rouge g in gigi once and then I bought tom ford pure pink which is a very similar shade 🙁

I completely agree!
The Rimmel looks close enough for me to want to go for that, it’s much more affordable and that’s better to me than an exact dupe.

I’ll definitely go for this one. You introduced me to this lipsticks and I have bought some of the shades that you have recommended. I do save up to get this lipsticks but I love to use them for special ocassions, nights out and this shade is gorgeous and pigmentation looks great 🙂

Do you recommend this shade to blondes? I love dark or intense lipstickson other girls but i think that they look awkward on my pale skin… This one looks fantastic!

i think dark shades with some pink in them look great on blondes – avoid those that are dark browns – mac rebel, ysl rouge volupte forbidden burgundy, chanel rouge coco byzantin or tom ford bruised plum are good candidates!

Rea, I am super-super pale and cool-toned, and I bought this and got so many compliments when I wore it over the holidays! The key is to wear a neutral eye with it. And it is probably more an evening look than a day one, but honestly, it does not look garish or anything.

Rea, forgot to say that in addition to being very pale I’m also blonde (albeit darker/honey blonde), and the lippie still looked great. Guerlain outdid themselves – the color is fav, pigmentation is terrific, it lasts, and it feels so smooth on the lips.

Gorgeous! I recently bought Rouge G Brillant in Bianca, and I love it. It’s helping me get back into real lipstick after a long stint of just balms and glosses. I’ve been wanting to get back into richer/deeper colors, and your post inspired me to order Bee as my next Rouge G! (I’m also eagerly awaiting the new shades for Spring 2011 — Fuchsia Delice looks amazing.)

Would you wear lipliner with Bee? If so, any recommendations for a good nude or matching lipliner?

This is my absolute fave of all lipsticks ever made. As I have written Rouge G has become a huge addiction to me but this shade is just simly amazing. Interestingly it does look a lot more dramatic on me, I mean it is much darker on me. That could be because I have allmost porcelain skin (dark eyes, hair, etc.) and the shade is more of a violet-plum on me, which was what I wanted. I do love it on you but very interesting how different lipsticks can look depending on the person. I agree that it is a shade that looks good on many different people though. Adore this and too bad it was limited. As I have also said I am in love with the packaging of Rouge Gs and this one is even cuter because of the bee imprinted on the mirror and the gold G on the outside of the compact. Rouge Gs in general are worth their weight in gold and though I had never thought I would spend so much on a lipstick once you try these you know why they cost so much (Ok the packaging is part of it too :)))
