Gucci Fair (01) Soleil Bronzing Powder Review & Swatches
Fair (01)
Gucci Beauty Fair (01) Soleil Bronzing Powder ($62.00 for 0.42 oz.) is an ultra-light brown with subtle, warm rosy undertones and a semi-matte finish. Alternatively, I’d consider describing it as a darker beige with subtle, warm undertones (it was lighter than most shades categorized as even the lightest brown).
The texture was incredibly smooth and silky without being excessively powdery, yet it picked up readily with even feathery brushes. It had rich pigmentation, which was more than described (“buildable”), though I’m sure most wouldn’t find that to be a deal-breaker. You can easily use a lighter hand to pick up less product for more buildable coverage if desired. The powder applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color that diffused nicely along the edges.
It looked more matte in the pan but had a semi-matte to satin finish as I blended the powder out on my skin. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$62.00/0.42 oz. - $147.62 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy" texture that is "buildable and feels comfortable all day" that "blends effortlessly" with a "healthy-looking glow." They disclosed that it is a scented powder--it has a floral scent to my nose, noticeable enough when the compact is open and for a couple of hours after initial application.
There are five shades in the range, though the first two shades are rosier, while the next three are warmer/more golden; while they may seem like they go in order from light to dark, 02 is darker than 03 (the rest are in order). The texture was very soft, finely-milled, and silky to the touch with a bit of a glide to it, without being overly dense nor too powdery in the pan. This resulted in an easy product to apply as the powder went on evenly and diffused well along the edges with minimal effort.
I wouldn't describe the pigmentation was buildable, though. I think you can use a lighter hand and pick up less product for a more buildable application of color, but the product itself was more semi-opaque to opaque in pigmentation. They seemed to have very, very fine pearl through most of the shades (one had more noticeable micro-sparkle, which gave them a more semi-matte to satin finish when applied and blended out on the skin. The formula lasted eight to nine hours on me before showing signs of wear.

Love this. It’s the rosy tone! Most pull yellow or muddy on me. But my non-bronzer self says do not fall for it. Aphrodisiac (maybe all time fave and d/c’d) is almost dead. I do have the Zoeva and will use it this week to persuade myself not to get this Guerlain. I see this as very ‘healthy’ looking.
Oops, it’s Gucci. Oh, well. I Was waiting >5 min then gave up on a computer download. A DD woman across the hall with 2 men in the same room stripped below the waist and was swearing, using her a Exorcist voice. No updated form after ~8 min. You can see why my attention was distracted and I thought Guerlain. This reopening business will not be easy.
Hope you’re doing okay, KJH! That sounds stressful!!
If I were the type who could block it out, it would not bother me. I no longer have to provide direct intervention. This woman needs the program desperately and benefited greatly prior to Covid. This is not totally unexpected at a behavior Day Hab. It arose over having to leave her backpack in another location. She inveighed against Walmart over the same issue for three months. We should all be thankful we have grossly functional brains. Life is not easy, when you do not.
It is a good time to be counting our blessings for sure!
I do like the coolness/lack of orange in this but considering how unimportant bronzer is in my makeup routine, I’d never pay this much for a bronzer (81 dollars in Canada, which would be a decent donation to a food bank).
I don’t wear bronzer enough to justify the price, but what a perfect color and finish! I’ve heard great things about this formula on YouTube. I have UD Video, but I think it’s more peachy on me than rosy undertoned.
Looks like a gorgeous option for those with very light complexions! Super pretty rosy tone makes it look like a more natural sun-kissed hue. Funny to see my beloved UD Jawbone listed as an 80% dupe, but it really is, just considerably darker. Rosy hues really replicate what a little sun and wind leave behind on ones cheeks!
UD Video has next to no staying power on me but I do have a pan of MAC Harmony. That said, this range looks worth keeping an eye on.
I’ve been on the hunt to find a replacement for my Tarina Tarantino Neapolitan Lane blush. This looks pretty close.
.
I’m vampire pale and don’t tan so bronzer in general looks unnatural on me. I originally dismissed this Gucci bronzer because it looked too warm and dark but, seeing that it has a rosy undertone, I may reconsider it. My favorite, the Guerlain Light Radiance bronzer in 00 Light Cool, has pink blush mixed in which gives a realistic post sunburn look. Unfortunately, it limited edition so I’ll need a new bronzer soon.
The shade is a really pretty blush/bronze hybrid and that compact is lovely, but it’s no to-die-for!
