Give Me Glow Juicy Olive Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Juicy Olive
Give Me Glow Juicy Olive 6-Pan Pressed Pigment Palette ($30.00 for 0.6 oz.) is all about olive green–shocker!–with four matte eyeshadows and two shimmer eyeshadows. They’re oversized, relative to most eyeshadows on the market, for those unfamiliar with the brand. All six shades were semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, fairly blendable, and lasted an average of eight hours on me.

Dry Martini
Dry Martini is a light, chartreuse green with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that applied fairly evenly to bare skin and blended out without too much effort. The texture was a little drier and more powdery, so there was light fallout during application. It lasted decently for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

The brand offers matte and foiled finish eyeshadows, though the descriptions are largely the same: "highly pigmented," "blendable," and "finely milled." The difference is with the foiled finish eyeshadows, the brand cautions to use less because they're that pigmented and going in with a heavier hand could cause flaking.
The matte eyeshadows are very pigmented with textures that ranged from soft, velvety, and blendable to soft, more substantial but not as silky or as finely-milled that had true-to-pan pigmentation but were not as blendable. The deeper shades tended to be a little harder to diffuse, especially along the edges, for a seamless blend. Ideally, one would use a mid-tone and lighter shade to soften the edge of a darker matte shade rather than counting on the matte to diffuse perfectly on its own.
The upside is that the deepest mattes are really intense--they're rich with lots of depth and have opaque, even coverage; it's just that edge can be harder to navigate. I preferred using smaller, more precise brushes, especially for areas like the deeper crease, to darken and then build up as necessary, and I'd use a lighter hand with shades that were harder to work with. They are also harder to dupe as many brands lack the intensity and depth, so some might be willing to trade-of blendability for intensity and uniqueness.
Some of the matte eyeshadows--often lighter and more mid-tone--were very blendable on their own along with having full coverage. There were a few of the darker and richer mattes that were slightly more effort to soften along the edges but not truly difficult. There was just some inconsistency in the ease of application with the matte finish. They tended to wear between eight and nine hours before fading noticeably.
They come in oversized pans (relative to average size) at 37mm, and they contain double the product (0.10 oz.) the average eyeshadow does (0.05 oz.).

Cocktails
Cocktails is a deep, olive green with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that could be built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The texture was soft, velvety, and substantial, so I’d recommend using a lighter hand and/or less-dense brush to apply and diffuse as it was more blendable built up than applied heavily and then blended. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Shaken Not Stirred
Shaken Not Stirred is a medium, olive green with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was smooth, almost emollient and cream-like to the touch, as it felt silky but wasn’t powdery or too thick in the pan. It had rich color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before creasing faintly on me.

The difference is with the foiled finish eyeshadows, the brand cautions to use less because they're that pigmented and going in with a heavier hand could cause flaking.
The foiled eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented with a very smooth, creamy consistency that was dense without being too stiff or too firmly-pressed into the pan. I didn't have any issues picking up product with a dry brush, and they also worked well with fingertips or a dampened brush an even more intense, metallic finish that was ultra-shiny.
I found this finish to be more consistent, too, and it was rare to run into major issues with the shades in this finish. There were a few with a touch of fallout or that might have creased a bit faster over time, but by and large, they hit all the high notes for those who love pigmented, metallic eyeshadows. They wore between eight and nine hours, often creasing more than fading on me.

Garnish
Garnish is a brighter, light-medium green with moderate, warm undertones and warmer, greenish-gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. The texture was soft, more loosely-pressed, so it was best used with a lighter-hand when picking up product to avoid over-applying and getting a bit of fallout. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff that adhered evenly and lasted well for eight hours.

Dirty Martini
Dirty Martini is a light-medium green with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a soft, smooth consistency that was a smidgen powdery in the pan but substantial, which gave it good adhesion to bare skin without losing its intensity. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Not sure if there’s an issue with my laptop but I’m only seeing 5 of the 6 shades here. Beautiful palette though!
Fixed!
As much as I love olive greens, I really don’t like this palette at all. There are no contrast or subtle shades here – you would definitely have to use another palette. The matte to shimmer ratio doesn’t work for me either.
It would have been better to include an olive brown shade, rather that the yellowish one I think.
I have this palette and it’s lovely! Love seeing you review indie brands in addition to the usual brands! :o)
I’ve owned this palette for a longish time and I love it. It’s just so easy to work with and I feel like it works like magic for me.
A lot of people love this palette! I also noticed that Glamlite recently released a “Dirty Martini” palette that looks like an expanded version of this. Hmm.
oooooh I WANT this. WOW.
I don’t need it I don’t need it I don’t need it… 😍
Wow, this palette is very well done! The theme, the colors, the quality!
Hey Christine, I think the picture for Garnish is missing, right?
It’s fixed! I messed up the code.
I love this.
It’s actually a green palette without a trace of brown or beige or any other colour. It’s green!
It’s not for me but there are shades I’d love to have, going to check the dupes for those.
Cocktails is probably my favourite in the palette.
I can’t see the review for Garnish, but will check the link to it. It looks lovely.
It’s fixed, I messed up the code! Sorry
Nothing to be sorry for!
This one has interested me for awhile, but I just haven’t snapped it up so far. Now, I just might!
