Giorgio Armani Lip Power Satin Lipstick Swatches (x17)
($38.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a new formula that launched a few weeks ago. There are supposed to be 25 shades available, though I haven’t seen all 25 carried in the US, so here are 17 of the shades I was able to purchase when they initially launched. The formula is supposed to be long-lasting, lightweight, and have buildable, vivid color in a satin finish.
My favorite shades are Brave, Independent, Desire, and for this time of year, Attitude. What I did notice was that several of the shown above shades definitely don’t have the brands claim of “vivid color” and appear to be very sheer.
There are a few lipsticks here that I can’t actually see….so pale they are and some that seem quite patchy too. Hmmm. Maybe Attitude and Tempting will be nice.
I wanted to love this lipstick but just didn’t! Left my lips feeling dry after a couple of hours. The color did last on my lips but ended up coming off sooner than I would have like as I had to add lip balm to help the dryness. Ended up returning the product to Sephora. Not worth keeping for the high price tag.
This formula looks fail for me. The reds aren’t bad, but I will not be shelling out.
There are a few I like, but I think I’ll have dupes for most of them. The lighter ones, 100 to 104 looks very much alike on the lips, maybe there’s a difference in undertones that will make them more or less flattering but I can’t really see it.
Still, it’s be fun to read the reviews, and who knows, maybe I’ll want them all.
Dear Armani marketing team, there’s nothing wrong with admitting that at least 6 of these are soft sheer shades, not vivid and buildable ones.
Shit. Those nudes are really sheer. I got excited seeing the bullet initially, but I don’t mess around with sheer lipsticks. My eternally dry lips always have balm on them so lip color tends to be softened/sheer out on application anyway.
