Giorgio Armani Beauty Kaleidoscope Collection for Fall 2013

The Armani world takes on multiple facets for autumn. It is a world seen through a kaleidoscope that augments tones and luminosity to create an intense collection of pure, sparkling, high-impact colors.

The black case, with its chic magnetic closure, conceals two tiers – one for the face and one for eye makeup application and is the perfect capsule for touch-ups at any time of the day. The palette opens to reveal a face powder in shades sprinkled with pearls for subtly metallic glints. The delicate eye shadow harmonies are then discovered: spellbinding colours that bring out the eyes in blue-violet and brown-green tones.

Not to be snarky but as I look at the pic of the model…I’m not impressed with the eyeshadow at all. The sheerness of being able to see the lid…not a good look. Maybe this was done on purpose?

Maybe sheerness is the new “black” this Fall.

I just saw actual product swatches on another blog. The blusher shades and the middle eyeshadow shades in the two palettes have an overspray. In the case of the eyeshadows, the overspray actually conceals the true color of the shadow beneath. The product, itself, is evidently quite good but anyone buying blind based on a promo picture is going to be in for a surprise. Just a heads up.

I saw the collection today in store (in Germany) and bought the green face&eye palette and 4 of the ETK: the middle color in the palette has an overspray but the color underneath is gorgeous so I didn´t mind – the palette creates a smokey green/brown eye with a Twist due to the greyish/greenish color on the left. June Beatle ETK is a shimmering light (blue leaning) teal/turqoise and will be returned soon (too cool for me), it reminds me a bit of Chanel Jade Store Stylo ES, which I like more. Next was Rose Popilia which is a warm light/medium rose tone, shimmering, leaning mauve/taupy on me – beautiful color I will use a lot. Then Gold Hercule which is a light greenish Gold and last but not least Silver Chaffer, which is a light neutral silver – I like it a lot as it fits perfectly #13 for a neutral/black smokey eye. What I liked most, was that this color was not overly cool or blueish leaning as most silver tones do on my skin. I skipped #34 Blue Beatle, for I just don´t use that kind of color. Beautiful collection for fall and def. worth checking out IMHO.

I love that beauty is so subjective-what one person hates, another adores. It leads to so much more creativity. I, for one, really like the eyeshadow application in the promo pic. The fact that it is a bit more sheer on the center of the lid adds an interest that would not be there if it was a solid block of color. I’m hoping I can even come somewhat close to recreating this look at home.

I hope to see these in stores soon. The palettes to me tend to have consistency issues.

The ETK are stunning in the swatch pictures seen around. Be aware that 34 (blue beetle) seems not to be available on the US site. It was there yesterday.
