Giorgio Armani #406 Rouge d’Armani Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich, deeper red with a blue-base. It yields opaque color coverage in a creamy finish with a natural shine. It’s a beautiful red, though you’re bound to find shades similar in our red lipstick gallery. Of some more recently reviewed shades, it is close to NYX Chic Red, Guerlain Liu, MAC Ruby Woo, and Guerlain Garconne. This just happens to be a red encapsulated in an exceptional formula.

The Rouge d’Armani formula is a good one. It’s a long-wearing formula (supposed to be up to eight hours!) with intense color, comfortable to wear, no fading/feathering, and moisturizing. The intensity of this red wears for at least eight hours but, while slightly more matte by eight hours, could be worn without reapplication for a few more hours. It has a creamy texture that makes for effortless application and easy glide, but it’s lightweight and adheres well without clinging. I haven’t had it bleed or feather, and it is nicely hydrating. This formula is scent- and taste-free. I also like that it has a magnetic enclosure.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Why is my reaction to reading this that I must go out and get it immediately, along with Garconne and possibly Liu? Obviously, I have a problem. But this is a stunning red…

So agree with you…and I did; Garconne in hand, you beautiful little thing, even if you weigh a ton & cost a ransom, I can’t help myself. I am such a hog when it comes to cosmetics; lipsticks inparticular. You can never have too many lipsticks in my opinion. I may be broke on account of endless number of them but my lips are spectacular!

No, it’s not 100% transfer-resistant. The only kind that are dry down and cling to lips – like MAC Pro Longwears – not the lipcremes but the original PLWs, but they’re so drying, you have to use a gloss top coat on top, and the gloss part is not transfer-resistant.

I should also not the CAN retail price is $37.50 and the only store that carries the line is Holt Renfrew. I think it’s worth it to go into their store to test the shades if you can at that price point.

Oh, that is just gorgeous on you! Mine just arrived in the mail today & I can’t wait to wear it. I immediately opened it to check it out & you wouldn’t think to look at it in the case that it would apply with such a nice shine to it or have that blue cast to it (which I need) since it initially appears to be flat in color as you can see in the tube above but just one swipe shows you how lovely it really is…perfect!

Nope, I haven’t. It irritates and causes swelling of my lid when I do – I don’t think I’ve done it in a few months. Those are just my lashes…

Perfect score?? I might have to make this investment then.

P.S. I love the lipstick picture and the fact that you went for that angle to show the logo.
