Giorgio Armani #4 Antique Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

Giorgio Armani #4 Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($27.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as an “antique gold.” It’s a muted yellow gold with bronze-brown tones, so it appears a little brighter than true antique gold but not extremely brassy either. Surprisingly, it reads differently to these gold eyeliners. This kind of color does an excellent job of bringing out the warmth in eyes, especially if you have green or hazel-hued peepers. The color coverage is fairly opaque in one pass, which is always nice.

This formula is supposed to be waterproof/water-resistant, long-wearing, soft, creamy, and intense. It is insanely soft; don’t keep it in a warm place, because it’s close to pushing the envelope by being too soft! The softness lends itself to great glide and application; it will slide across the lash line like hot butter on a skillet. There’s no tugging, dragging, or skipping with these formula! With all of that creaminess, I was afraid it was going to smudge and migrate all over the place, but in a completely impressive move, it sets after twenty seconds or so, and it stays put quite well. There’s minor but noticeable fading after eight hours of wear, so it’s not the most impressive eyeliner I own, but it holds its own.  I took a shower with this on, and water didn’t cause it to run or smudge.

After trying Hard Candy’s gold eyeliner … I’m defo going to try a few of these. The gold is just beautiful and looks very creamy (which may not work for my oily lids).

hey christine – beautiful color, but how do you use a gold eyeliner? on your waterline, on the upper lid like a regular eyeliner? i’m stuck in a world of black eyeliners…

Thanks for the review and the link to your previous reviews (I’m on a major gold eyeliner kick). So far, I’ve only tried the Milani Gold eyeliner but will definitely have to swatch the GA to see if it’s better with my peach-toned skin and blue-green eyes.
