A New Nude for Fall

Giorgio Armani #111 Rouge d’Armani Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a subtly warmed over light-medium beige with a soft frosted sheen. MAC Japanese Maple is a bit darker, less frosted. MAC Naturally Eccentric is a smidgen lighter. MAC Pretty Please is pinker. MAC Marquise d’ is marginally lighter but very close. Guerlain Gabrielle is a bit pinker but similar.

It seemed sheer when I swatched it, but on the lips, it’s mostly opaque–you can’t really make out my lip freckle at all! While Giorgio Armani says these are supposed to last up to eight hours, with this particular shade, I was able to make it to six with a fair amount of color still on (no need for a touch-up yet). I can see up to eight hours of wear with some of their other shades, but this lighter shade didn’t make it that far–still, longer than average wear as compared to most lipsticks. The formula is hydrating, feels comfortable on, and wears away evenly. It has a thin, creamy consistency that feels lightweight on and applies evenly and easily.

One feature I like about Giorgio Armani’s packaging is that it clicks close with a magnetic closure, which means you won’t have to fret that the cap will pop off in your bag. The lipstick is also scent- and taste-free.

In my opinion this color looks to much like skin. And Christine, I admire you how beautiful you always smile with the worst shades of lipstick on 😉

I go with nude lipstick alot more than other shades because they are so effortless. The problem for me, though, is trying to decide *which* nude to go with because I have so many, LOL!

I’m a sucker for a pretty, nude lipstick, so although I’m pretty much on a “no-buy” on lipstick (for a while), I may have to take a look at this one. At least it’s not LE, so hopefully it’ll be around until the beginning of the new year.

Thank you Christine! I was looking for a dupe for Mac’s Marquise’D which I love. I hope this will be available in Germany too. Guerlain Gabrielle looks stunning too…

I have both and this one provides a more dense and matte coverage. Gabrielle is much more sheer and pinker. The Armani stays longer on my lips, but the Guerlain is more moisturizing and soft. I hope this helps. Buy both ;0)

I have very pigmented lips so nudes are such a nightmare for me, I can’t find one that doesn’t look like my mouth got erased or just funny. I might take a look at this one, maybe it can help me to achieve this Kim-Kardashian-type makeup that I adore, but never can get because of the nudish lips part :p

I don’t normally like nude lipsticks; they always seem to make people look dead imo. But I really like this on you; it’s the perfect nude shade. I doubt I could wear it, but you pull it off wonderfully!

I love the colour in the tube. On the lips…. not so much. I have to say, I’m a bit wary of the Armani formula. The Megan Fox red Armani is one of the very few lipsticks that made my lips not just dry up, but actually crack open and bleed. And I’m a person who wears the dryest mattes possible without any problems usually!

This is gorgeous! I was thinking it was pretty but no way would it would on me (because I naturally have very pale, dead-looking lips), but actually I think that would work! I like that it’s mostly opaque but it’s not heavy-looking. It looks SO so light and pretty!

Funny that so many doesn’t like this on you, I think it’s one of the best nudes I’ve seen on you! Really gorgeous! Wish it could look as good on me but doubt it because of my pigmented lips.

Christine, I really like this on you! But because you’re so dang cute, you manage to pull off a lot of different hues and colors successfully. Frankly, I’d buy this one. I have only 1 nude lippie so far (“runs”) and that is GA #102. But, I see myself buying #111. I guess I’m more plums, berries, and red person, but still love that nude look that so many cosmetic companies present to the public.
