Fyrinnae Jade Ghost Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Fyrinnae Jade Ghost Eyeshadow ($8.25 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “slightly shimmery pale white-green … “an iridescent glow of light green shimmer and a touch of subdued sparkle.” It’s a pale, aqua green with a subtle golden shimmer-sheen. I don’t really have anything quite like this in my stash. Lancome Fashion Forward is the closest, but it is bluer and less golden. Tarina Tarantino Wonderful #4 is greener, less aqua/pastel.

Jade Ghost has a very soft texture that really starts breaking away the moment your brush hits the surface, so be careful not to swirl your brush too much in it, as you won’t need to in order to get the powder onto your brush. It is slightly powdery as a result. When applied over Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy, it loses all trace of powderiness, and the powder smooths out. Applied dry, it is ever-so-slightly powdery but still has good color payoff. It is prone to sheering out when used dry, though. I tried it without any base, and then I also wore it over Pixie Epoxy, and with no base, it lasted seven hours well but had some fading after eight hours, while over Pixie Epoxy, it lasted eight hours without creasing or fading. Pixie Epoxy is not a primer, but it is so commonly used with Fyrinnae’s eyeshadows that I felt it imperative to test it underneath the eyeshadow.

If you prefer your eyeshadows loose, this shade began its life as one, and you can purchase it in loose form as well. The pressed eyeshadows should be restocked soon, per Fyrinnae’s website.

wow, this is gorgeous, but i don’t think i’ll get it because i can’t see this working on me the way it did on you and i don’t think i could recreate that eye make up look!

Christine, do you think it’s really necessary to use the pixie epoxy with the Fyrinnae eyeshadows? I want to buy some of them but don’t want to buy the pixie epoxy because I already have 3 tipes of liquids that have the same purpose: MAC mixing medium water base, lit glitter base and inglot duraline. Do you think some of them can do the same job as pixie epoxy? Thanks!

I haven’t used Duraline, so I’m not sure about that, but I think MAC’s Mixing Medium would work. Fyrinnae’s IS tackier than the Mixing Medium (which is a bit more watery).

Honestly, with the price point though? I might just grab it, just in case. You could just try the trial size, which is $2 (full size is $7).

I personally think it might depend on the formula of shadow you went with. From my experience with the one pressed shade I have, I didn’t feel like I needed the Epoxy, but the loose ones are so messy, I like having that extra tacky binder.

Pixie Epoxy is also good if you like glitter shadows at all, to help keep the glitter in place. I wear it over another Primer, then apply the shadow.

I like their colors. I bought several a few months ago. I just went to the website and of course all the colors you’re reviewing are out of stock! 😀

I have Jade Ghost as the loose eyeshadow and it is my favourite for inner corners and under my lower lashes. It really wakes up my eyes and hides the pink I tend to have around those areas.

Someone did mention seeing this colour from other companies, but out of all my stash, I really don’t have anything that applies as nicely, feels as smooth or is really a suitable dupe. This has a brightness to it – not a washed out green cast like most do.

It’s worth the wait if the site is down! (as they do, to catch up on orders)
