Haul/Rediscoveries: Haul: Dose of Colors Sleepless (this is a very pretty living dead girl color and I really enjoy the formula, surprisingly), tbd Sephora sale shopping trip, although I think I’m going to pick up the Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo which is a major splurge for me, I usually use Batiste. Rediscoveries: Colourpop Fame Palette. I was almost tempted by the UD OG Naked palette’s sale price, but dug this out and figure I can come up with some similar looks that I like better. Money saved.
Weekend plans: finally going to see Crazy Rich Asians and then attending a horror movie convention
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: Orange is the New Black’s latest season, although I’m hoping to start Disenchantment soon!

Haul: I went to Macyās to find a large-sized everyday bag for work and bought a CK tote for 60% off…and received $20 in Macyās Reward Dollars! So I used it to picked up a backup of EL Double Wear, and received a great gift that included a highlighter and two full-sized lipsticks in Decadent and Nude Cult. So even though Iām on a makeup no-buy (other than replacement products), I STILL wound up getting two new lipsticks this week! Lol

Weekend plans: finalize some accommodation details (our son in the military is on a long training course in the Maritimes; we’re picking him up and all going to Halifax for a weekend – he’s asked if a friend can come along, making it all more complicated; after we get them back to base, husband and I will drive around New Brunswick; so we have to pin down some places to stay and SOON)

I partook in the Sephora Rouge sale! I used $175 in gift cards from redeeming my credit card rewards points. I got:
– Viseart Theory Palette in Absinthe
– Natasha Denona Camel Palette
– NARS Velvet Lipglide in Paradise Garage
– Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm
– Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper
I have a bit more so I might pick up the Bite Liquid Lipstick in Chai or the NARS Lipglide in Xenon.
Paradise Garage, Xenon, and Mars. That’s one big three. I got Roseland from the Ulta extra points thing. It’s a bit pinkish for me. These are all similar. Roseland leans pink; Mars leans brown; Paradise Garage is the most mauve. Xenon is great, too. I’m so into VLGs that I get colors that are a tad out of the comfort zone, and always can wear them. What a great formula.

I picked up Roseland at lunch, though I’m regretting it a bit because it’s so close to Cozumel from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale VLG set. But I know I’ll use it so I’m keeping it. I’m going to pick up Swing and Xenon eventually (Mars looks stunning, but is too dark for my NC15 complexion).
Haul: I’m not sure yet but there is a Sephora sale so I might spend a shit ton of money.
Weekend: Meeting up with my husbands ex-boss for dinner, shopping, and steam cleaning the carpets again.

I fell into the hype and grabbed the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault (so far I’ve used the purple and green palettes and they’re good enough). While I was there I grabbed their setting spray b/c it has pretty good reviews. I also grabbed two lipstick pencils and two bullet lipsticks. I feel terrible about myself b/c I spent $90 on Morphe make up. What is wrong with me?

Last TV series I binged: I think it was Brooklyn 99 but that’s been some months so I’m not sure. Very funny show, but I’m still not caught up, lol.

I would recommend a Pat McGrath palette. Her formula is really stunning.
Haul: Nothing this week but I’m hoping my glamtech palette will ship soon and I’m waffling on getting the Too Faced berry tutti frutti palette.
Weekend Plans: My favorite restaurant (a small farm-to-table) is having a community dinner this weekend collaborating with a local tequila company to have a 4 course dinner with drink pairings on Sunday. It’s really cool they put everyone at these big communal tables and have a family style main course, and a person from the collaborating company gives a short talk about their company and what green/sustainable efforts their company makes.
Last tv show binge-watched: I just finished (well, caught up on) Shooter and Pose, currently watching Moonlight (the vampire show from 2007), and next is Birds of Prey and Blade: The Series. I pretty much always have the tv going when I work and do chores lol so I blow through shows really fast.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Kathleen Lights x Colourpop Dream St Palette, Makeup Revolution ABH Subculture dupe (I forget the name), and the Warrior palette by Juvias Place. I’m such an eyeshadow palette sucker!
Weekend plans: Wildfires have filled our city with noxious smoke, so mostly just staying inside.
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: Sugar Rush on Netflix, a reality baking series. Good food fun!

Haul: Orders for backups of my favorite Sephora Contour Pencils are still trickling in as certain shades have become available. So far: 2 Fairytale, 2 Go For A Ride, 1 Diving In Malaysia, 1 Surfer Girl (always wanted to try that one!) and now I’m waiting for 2 or 3 Purple Stilettos. Also, Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream, because I didn’t think the teensy bit left would last till the VIB event. Today, I’m going to Sephora on a haul of Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid & Retinol eye serum, *possibly* Drunk Elephant Retro Lala cream, and probably a Too Faced 20 Years lipstick in either TF20 or Hot Flash. Deciding whether to order PMG Executive Realness or Bobbi Brown Razzberry?
Weekend plans: If I can just get out of this deep rut I’ve been in and get out of the house! I’m tearing up as I write this. I’ve been sooo stuck. So blah. But I HAVE to go out to the food store, to Sally’s for t/up dye so that my hair looks good for next week.
This coming Wednesday, Evanescence w/ Lindsay Stirling are performing in town, and I bought 2 tickets. One for me. One for one of my grown kids. My daughter is also a fan. Neither has given me an affirmative answer, and it’s down to only 5 more days. I realize that either one would have to put in for a day off, it’s just that I bought these 2 weeks ago, and told them immediately after. I almost feel like reselling these tix.
Last TV series you binge watched? None. While I can watch maybe 2 episodes of a specific show, I just don’t have the attention span to just stay glued to my tube for hours on end!
Haul/Rediscovery:
Got a new application sponge by StansOut (my Beauty Blenders are getting gross). I like it very much. It does apply foundation faster than the BB and the finish is really nice. After the 3rd use, wetting it is optional, and that’s a plus in my book. I like it.
Using the current Sephora sale to get a backup for my EL DoubleWear which is coming up on emptying, a backup Art of the Shave Oil for hubs, and a PM lippie in Sorry, Not Sorry.
Weekend:
Presenting my new projects and recent results at a client’s annual meeting tomorrow for about 45-minutes, attending their clambake which should be fun, then collapsing. Sunday should find me face down on a lounge chair after a swim on Sunday.
Binge:
Orange is the New Black, the current season. Not loving it, I have to say.
Iām not loving the new series either of Orange is the New Black. But, will watch the whole thing, I guess
Haul/rediscoveries: Marc Jacobs Glitz Blitz highliner. Love rosy peach pink color, so-so on the glitter/metallic effect, but since it’s such a unique and pretty color I expect I’ll use often anyway. Also picked up another MUFE Artist Color pencil in Wherever Walnut, which I use as eyeliner; I misplaced mine, figured since I use is very often, why not buy another; better than waiting for mine to turn up. (p.s. — thanks for opening this to rediscoveries, as I’ve been on a super low buy and haven’t felt I had much to offer this weekly roundup over last months).
Weekend: There’s a gems and jewelry show in town that I do not see myself being able to resist. Pretty shiny things are a weakness of mine. Otherwise, a fairly routine weekend of pilates, errands, etc.
Binge watching: I can’t sit still for long, so it’s like I may keep something running and do tasks during commercials. It’s been awhile since I’ve done though. Probably the Dr. Who marathon on BBC America of a few months ago, when they were leading up to the last episode of last season.
Haul/rediscoveries:
Haul: From Nordstrom Rack, a Nyx eyeshadow quad called Full Throttle (peach, berry, warm red, cream) and UF Meltdown Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil Stick. I am getting ready to travel. Also a friend returning from a trip to Spain brought me a night cream made in Spain called MEL13. It contains melatonin, which is not an ingredient I have heard about in skin care. Itās a nice cream anyway.
Rediscovered Living Proof Leave-In Conditioner. I didnāt think I needed this in summer but it is making my hair a lot shinier.
Weekend plans: Nothing. My husband injured his shoulder and doesnāt want to do anything..
Last show I binge watched: A British police procedural called No Offence, featuring some women officers. In the past I have binge watched Orange Is the New Black but this season seems very dark to pile it on at once.
Haul:
Pat McGrath Labs Lust Mini Matte Trance Lipsticks set: I was so happy to get this set! I had not previously tried any of the Pat McGrath lipsticks and had one of these colors in my Sephora shopping cart when this trio became available. I prefer mini lipsticks as I have so many lipsticks I will barely ever use. I got three colors for less than the price of one, yay! They are all great colors. Too dry on their own but lipgloss cures that problem immediately.
Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. This cleanser just makes me happy. It is less harsh than my previous acne cleansers but still good at cleaning my combination skin (those gentle cleansers donāt quite do it for me). After Beste my skin feels like nothing at all, not dry and tight or dirty…just clean and normal. Definitely a good purchase for me.
I went into the store to see Biteās Pink Salt in person (all their new colors are very pretty and beg to be mixed to create unique combinations), and I had to have their new Agave Lip Mask in Maple. It is going to be lovely on top all my warm fall lip colors and give me the added benefit of protection against the cold weather. I have had chapped, peeling lips my whole life. I started using the Agave Lip Mask in May of 2018, and have not peeled dead skin off my lips since that time. I plan to pick up the pretty LE violet Agave lip mask too, soon, maybe at the VIB sale (I have to wait until Sunday to place my order).
Weekend: My son passed MEPS, swore in, and is now scheduled to go to Air Force boot camp on December 1. He is my last child at home and I was surprised at the intensity of grief I felt when I realized he was going to enlist. There have been several other issues in my life recently, with work and menopause, and altogether these things have pushed me into a period of reflection and pain (and as often is the case with pain, growth). I recognize there are things I have to change in my life and I am starting the process of making those changes. I have finally seen a gynecologist, had my hormone levels taken, and will start hormone replacement therapy (my testosterone was so low it was almost nonexistent). I have made some changes in how I approach work and coworkers, and am working through internal changes that need to happen, such as addressing perfectionism, people-pleasing and shame. Now that I donāt have the excuse of children in the home I am going to purposefully seek to develop and grow friendships with other women (I have already accepted an invitation to a wine party in September). Iāve had the healthy and active lifestyle gig down for most of my adult life, now i need to focus on other aspects of my well being.
We are currently watching Shetland, as recommended by LindaP.
Haul: did not do Sephora yet, though I preshopped the m/u. U>> Ofra Mai Tai blush, bec it is like nothing else I have. Lt to med yellowish orange. Not bad, for all you CP Felix fans. Nars VLG Roseland and Powerematte Spin It. The rest was bath. Plans: manager messed up my alternating w/e stuff, so I have 10 hrs of 2 jobs today and off tomorrow. Cut the lawn and go in the ocean. Do Sephora order and maybe Beautylish, bec the Deciem is being d/c’d by them. No drama comments here, though there are plenty to be found…. Binge, well not straight binge, but polished off Sneaky Pete on Amazon. I need comedy in my life.
Time for me to order backups of all my favorite The Ordinary skincare gems, I suppose. This actually makes me terribly sad.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Getting back into Nivea “Kiss of Care & Color” in sheer berry since I’ve restarted work. I’m getting sad because I’m not finding it for sale online, anymore.

Temperatures are definitely down, but I’m trying to find decent forecasts on the air quality. I’m terribly allergic to smoke and asthmatic, so I have to be careful. Here in Oregon, I’ve had to mostly stay indoors this weeks.
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: Season 13 of Supernatural.
I’m also really asthmatic (and allergic to lots of things, but smoke isn’t one of them) and I found the air in BC (Vancouver area) really nice to breathe. It feels like it comes right off the ocean, all clean and bright. I guess it all depends on the wild fire situation š
With the wildfires, it literally depends on which way the wind blows. Right now, it’s really iffy as to whether the smoke levels will stay out of Vancouver enough that I can go outside. Today is the last day we can cancel our motel without paying penalties. I have to wait for hubby to wake up before we make the final decision, but we’ll probably end up canceling.
I think Mellon is hoping that he is going to smell some food, not eyeshadows!
Haul – nothing beauty related, just a lovely burgundy water proof jacket at half price!
Weekend plans: Last week we did find some snow up in our nearby hills and it was so exciting. But this weekend it’s going to be sunny, which will be a lovely change.
Friday – we have Lachlan for the day, with the Brio trains set up in our family room. He is mad keen on trains and construction at the moment.
Saturday – perhaps lunch up in the hills, followed by shopping.
Sunday – a steam train journey, starting early, and we are taking our grandchildren along. That should be fun. We are going to a country town where they are having an August festival, so plenty to do when we arrive.
It’s great that your parents are visiting Christine and I hope you get to spend quite a bit of time with them.
Binge Watch TV. – I tend to watch to them in stages – a couple of episodes at a time. The last one was the Australian made drama Mystery Road – which was excellent.
Haul: Today I bought a LāOreal Paris Color Riche Shine Lipstick in 470 – Map To Nirvana. It’s a deep plum with fine holographic glitter. Opaque in one swipe and lightly moisturising. Anything I buy over Ā£5 is most likely a palette but someone next to me swatched it and I fell in love. I swatched a few other shades and liked the formula feel and opacity so I may buy more in future if there are offers!
Weekend plans: =( I have a rat problem and last week it chewed through the hoses of my washing machine so I’ll be replacing those then trying to find and block the point from where it entered. I’m also concerned it’s damaged some pipes in the ceiling cavity so that’s going to be a few hours of carpet and floorboard removing. Damn rat >.<
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: The Fate/Zero anime. It's now in my top 5 all time favourites!

Weekend plans: We arrived in Seattle today and will see Ed Sheeran in concert tomorrow and will spend Sunday making final excursion arrangements before flying to Iceland on Monday.
T.V. binge watching: I am not a binge watcher when it comes to things I haven’seen before but I do like to binge watch movies or shows I have seen already and know I love. My daughter and I watch BBC Sherlock, all four series at a sitting, BBC productions of Jane Austen books, etc. For television shows I have all the Law and Order Criminal Intent seasons recorded and will watch whole seasons at a sitting.
Haul: No makeup bought yet, but I have a few things in a few online carts ready for purchase. I did pick up a pack of e.l.f. makeup remover wipes the other night. On my lunch break today I bought a rolling shopper tote from Olympia USA’s website-it has a pattern of various world city names and landmarks, it almost looks like a passport!
Weekend plans: Worked all day and ran errands today, Law & Order: SVU marathon tomorrow, Sunday unplanned
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: ION Television does a lot of TV marathons, like the weekly SVU marathon I’m watching tomorrow. I tune into the Law & Order, SVU, and CSI marathons between whatever else I have going on those days and watch the one episode a week of Private Eyes, a Canadian PI series, that they show. My parents put on the weekly NCIS: LA marathon, but I’m not an active watcher of that one. ION’s changing the schedule next week-gotta get used to that now.
Haul/Rediscoveries: No haul, so I like that you’ve added “rediscoveries!” I’ve moved overseas and had to leave most of my makeup collection in a closet at my parents’ house. I tried to bring things I love and don’t use enough, so I will list the NARS Impassioned and Dior Healthy Glow Awakening blushes as something that I’ve been using a lot since I arrived here. Also the MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation! A long-time love that I’ve used more often these last two weeks than I have in ages.
I’m planning on making a large order today during the Sephora sale on the US site and have it sent to my mom’s place in the States, and I can pick it up when I go home for the holidays. Talk about delayed gratification!
Weekend plans: I baked bread! Or rather, it’s in the oven right now. It’s a no-knead recipe which had to rise for 18 hours and I didn’t time it right so I had to get up to bake it at 4:45am. I’m just hoping it comes out okay! I’ve never actually made bread from scratch before.
What was the last TV series you binge-watched?: Definitely Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is by far my favorite show on TV right now! I’ve seen all the episodes a thousand times before but I’m always rewatching it.`
Haul/Rediscoveries: Also Wet ānā Wild Fire & Ice — I got the box set. I repurchased the J One Jelly Pack, and also got the Clinique redness solution face cream. I gotta say … the “Icing On the Wall” highlighter from Fire & Ice finger-applies as the most liquid, multi-dimensional, arctic ice blue I’ve ever seen, and it breaks my heart, it’s so beautiful; applied with a brush it’s just a nice blue highlighter. This is one I’m definitely using my sponge-tip applicator with so I can get the full effect.
Weekend plans: I went into the weekend with no real plans other than going to dinner with friends on Saturday. I really should get some yard work done.
