Oh! And I used my Sephora $15 off coupon to get a Bite Multistick in Blondie, a Fenty Matchstix in Amber, and a UD Vice Lipstick in Mrs. Mia Wallace.

I’ve been using all the Cloud Paints and I used up a thing of their sunscreen. I got their Stretch Concealer and Balm Dot Com this time.

Cloud Paints: I LOVE them. My favorite blushes ever!
Sunscreen: great, but overpriced for the amount you get.
Stretch Concealer: I used it for the first time today and I really liked it. It’s great for the undereyes, but not as much for spot-concealing. Really nice texture if you have dry skin/undereyes.
Balm Dot Com: GREAT. Super comfy and moisturizing. I love the birthday cake one

I hope this helps!

Haul: Most of my purchases have been skin care, as my skin has been changing now that I’m in my fifth decade of life. I started using Drunk Elephant’s C Firma and B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel about two months ago, and this week I purchased the Virgin Marula face oil and Lala Retro Whipped Cream to boost up my moisture. My skin is becoming more and more sensitive, so I am trying to find solutions that allow me to continue using prescription strength retin A. Last week I purchased Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules (a combination of face oils) and am using it over Retin A, and sealing all in with CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream (thick, comes in a tub). So far, so good. I am suspecting if any part of my skin care regimen has to be cut out due to irritation and dryness, it’s going to be glycolic acid. I’m trying to keep the big three (glycolic acid, vitamin C, and retin A) in my routine.

I also picked up and absolutely love MAC’s Nicki Minaj Nicki’s Nude lipstick. This was recommended on a video tutorial. I was not prepared for how much I was going to love it. It looks great with a nude liner and gloss, but also looks fantastic when doing on ombre lip with any red or red/brown lipstick. Today I’m wearing it with MUFE’s C406 and Fenti Beauty Cosmic Gloss in Spacesuit, and this combo is stunning! I have had Spacesuit in my make up bag for a month now, I can’t go anywhere without this nude gloss, it makes all the looks just a little bit prettier. Nicki’s Nude and Spacesuit are meant to be together!

Plans: I got a job! I took a Behavioral Health Consultant job. I will be working at primary care offices providing brief therapy for anxiety, depression and life style change issues (weight loss, smoking cessation, medication compliance, etc). I will be hourly so no more working 10-13 hours daily. I take my new position on February 4. Thank you for everyone who supported and encouraged me through the past difficult three months of work anguish.

Music: Nothing right now. I have been so stressed with the work situation that I’ve had to keep the music off due to their being too much noise in my head. I love music, primarily alternative rock, and I am looking forward to listening to my beloved blog radio programs now that I’ve resolved the work issue.

I am so pleased about your new job. I have a skin care routine similar to yours and my winter work around is a night off in between the heavy duty treatments. In warm weather I alternate Retin A and a glycolic. In winter, it is Retin A one night, glycolic the second night, and just serums, moisturizer, oils on the. third night. I can generally continue to use Vitamin C daily.

New job kudos! Clearly the old one was doing its best to eat you alive, leaving you little time for the counseling. I believe you will be happier, but the old site lost a dedicated professional.

Haul: Mostly skin care… Biologique Recherché P50 PIGM400 (I liked it enough from the travel size I’ve sprung for the full size); SK-II Hydrating Mask duo (sample-sized set of skin and eye masks); Cosrx BHA blackhead power liquid (just received, haven’t tried yet). Also, full size Armani Luminous foundation (very nice); MUFE eyeshadows from Thanksgiving weekend sale arrived today.

Weekend: Unpacking from week-long business trip; otherwise the usual — errands, laundry, dry cleaners, pilates. Have to get started on cards and gifts too.

Music: Nothing lately, I’ve just been in a hotel room with whatever music and TV they had available.

Haul: Becca’s SSP in Lilac Geode, a repurchase of the NARS ADLW Foundation in Fiji, a couple 500 point perks (Clinique & KVD), and a 100 point perk (Tom Ford). Planning on getting the NARS Douceur Pro Pan to go with the MUFE artist case I got to round up my foundation to $50 so that I could use the $25 off coupon.

Weekend plans: finishing up a logo for a company’s business and some paperwork for a program I’ll be starting in the upcoming summer, if all goes well. Finishing up some chores around the house.

What album do you have on repeat these days?: Lorde’s Melodrama, other than that I’ve got Spotify on shuffle.

Haul: Tom Ford Orchid Soleil Nightbloom powder (from Selfridges, arriving Monday), used Sephora Reward Card on Tom Ford Private Shadows in Iris Bronze and Loveshade; received Charlotte Tilbury The Queen lipstick – it’s the perfect shade for my complexion (yay!).

Weekend Plans: Unpack winter clothes now that the temp has turned cold and the first snowfall is coming tonight. Warmth by the fireplace will be my vibe this weekend.

Album on repeat: U2’s new album Songs of Experience.

Haul: Christophe Robin rose shampoo/conditioner; beautyfix box that had lancer lip plumper and FAB radiance pads Im excited to try.
Weekend: it’s supposed to snow!
Album: pandora shuffle!

*Haul – LASplash Diamond Lip Gloss in Seraphina ( 50% off – wow! this has the pigment and staying power of a liquid lipstick, but the shine and comfort of a gloss, very impressed with the formula, thanks for the rec Michele!), BITE Mini Multistick Set in Papaya & Cashew (this might be returned, pretty colors but doesn’t last on my blush eating cheeks, even after layering with primer/foundation/powder), Kylie Purple shadow kit ( 30% off -IDK disappointed. It’s a rare cool toned purple palette, but might have a bad batch, almost every shade had issues when I swatched them, but hoping it applies better over primer) Sephora NARS 500 pt perk (can’t believe I was able to snag this, but I’ve always wanted to try Orgasm blush, Laguna bronzer, and Bound velvet lip glide), and Besame Long Hair Finishing Face Powder brush (25% off Dermstore- backup, love !)
*Weekend – same old, same old – test makeup, chores/clean up house, rest and recuperate from work
*Album – no album, but lots of Christmas songs playing around in my head, thanks to a local radio station

• Haul:
❝ Not. A. Thing. I’m fully stocked. ❞

• Weekend plans:
❝ Kick back and relax since I had to work last weekend. Fingers crossed that clients won’t have an emergency and I will have to report to the office. Ugh! ❞

• What album do you have on repeat these days?
❝ I have seriously been obsessed with the Korean band DAY6’s album ‘Sunrise’. I don’t think I’ve gone a day without hearing a song from them. I’ve been occasionally playing [K-Pop group] BTS’ album, ‘Love Yourself: Her’, but I continuously come back to DAY6. Oh yes, and ‘The Nat King Cole Christmas Album’! It wouldn’t be the holidays without Nat King Cole songs playing in my home. ❞

This makes me laugh. Did you go from K-Pop to KB, or the other way around? Never listened, but some of those boy band guys sure have poreless skin perfection!

Lol. I went from K-Pop to KB. It all started years ago with the K-Pop group, 2PM, and now I’m on Day6. I still love my K-Pop, but I need more K-Rock/K-Pop Rock bands in my life.

You are absolutely right that some of those guys seem to have poreless skin. I’m a little jealous, to be honest. Haha!

Haul: I’m waiting on an UD brush haul and a Stila eyeliner haul from black friday. THE VALUE YOU GUYS. I got six UD eyeshadow brushes at half off! I also got The Ordinary and Holy Snails skincare hauls last week, which have been super fun. Very hard not to try everything all at once!

Weekend plans: Dungeons and Dragons (except it’s Exalted. But same thing.)

What album do you have on repeat these days?: Outkast Aquemini. I was only 10 when it came out, can’t believe how amazing and fresh it sounds pushing 20 years later. I just listen to it and am floored.

Holy Snails, good score. Shark Sauce? Snowbang? I read Snow White and the Asian Pear pretty religiously. That trio…with 50 shades…is massively informative.

I got the sample pack with Snowbang, Eldorado, Shark Sauce, and the skin oil, plus mini sizes of Camo Shark and Honey Sauce. So far Eldorado doesn’t work for me (tbh my skin is iffy on both oils and vitamin c so no shocker there) but Shark Sauce seems nice and soothing. I’m heartbroken the Camo Sauce full size is already sold out–I love camels and haven’t even tried my mini out yet! The whole thing is going to take a good month to get through because I try to be a little methodical with adding new products into my skincare routine.

Hi there, Mellan! Yeah, I feel ya there, buddy: Mondays. Wednesdays, Thursdays. Yep!

Haul: Bought Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored! So beautiful, but it did not last through my dinner, unfortunately. Also bought MAC Fathoms Deep EDES. And was told by the 2 employees there that night that it and other shades are being DC’d. I’m shocked! Why MAC??? My orders noted last week have been trickling in. With the most recent order, Pat McGrath Luxetrance lipstick in Strangé arriving FIRST. Still haven’t received my order from UD for my engraved case Vice Lipstick in Manic, though.

Weekend plans: After living through a terrible heart scare this week, and feeling pretty rundown, I’m just going to try to rest, relax and only do a load of laundry and light food shopping, preferably via a ride from a friend. I had a very abnormal EKG and chest pain from last Saturday on. Saw cardiologist yesterday. Felt very patronized and poo-poo’s by him (older male doc with a very old school approach towards womens heart problems). I’m going shopping for a different cardiologist this week instead of my usual makeup and clothes shopping!

Album on repeat: Trust me when I say that you really DON’T want to know! (Secret Tay-Tay fan!) (Secret Weeknd fan, too!)

Tammy, great news: my PCP doc has referred my to someone who is one of the best, if not the best, in this neck of the woods! Paperwork has been sent to insurance and all! I’m feeling a sense of relief now.

Nancy, I pray everything is ok with your heart. Where your heart is concerned you can’t be over cautious. I also hope you find a new cardiologist.

Oh, cripes! How did I miss the heart scare?! I’m so sorry. I”m glad you’re OK. I’m also glad to hear you’re smart enough to find a different cardiologist. His attitude sounds very dangerous.

Thank you for your support and care everyone! I haven’t exactly posted anything on IG or FB that wasn’t vague, which is why some who know me on there may not have realized that this was happening. First, I wanted and needed concrete answers from my cardiologist of 12 or 13 years. But instead, ran into something quite dismissive and patronizing from him. My trust was broken. Now I’m being sent to a Doc who rates a 4.9 on Healthgrades and only has the best of reports on him! Hopefully, he gets to the source of what happened, and treats it. Ladies, Friends; NEVER settle for less in a specialist! Or any Doc, for that matter.

Haul: I got some more Phyto products from Sephora (took advantage of that $25 off coupon….or was it 20?) since they’re being phased out; also picked up Kenra Shine Spray and Blow Dry Spray (liking them both very much), another Smashbox Red Rage lipstick (SDM had a coupon – 20X the points on Smashbox lipsticks or lip liners AND I got my 20% off since I bought it on Thursday) and I also picked up a Sephora lip stain in Always Red.

Weekend plans – just getting ready to head out to the first of 3 holiday parties/get togethers we have this weekend.

Album: I have a USB with a bunch of my favourite music on it and it just plays all random. Today, I’ve been repeating Warren Zevon’s Werewolves of London and Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark….strange pairing but they both put me in such a good mood.

Haul: I have three weeks worth of stuff, and Black Friday orders all came in. I’l probably be forgetting some things. I’m pretty sure I’ll be on a no-buy after January. LOL

Weekend plans: Decorate the Christmas tree and do some shopping.

What album do you have on repeat these days?: Evanescence “Synthesis”

Link to my newest article, a profile on Notoriously Morbid:

Impressed! And I like your indie sprit and adventurous nature. This haul rivals a Binxcat…and I say that with all possible awe and admiration. Michele’s IG is the only one I consider worthwhile.

Michele’s IG is fabulous! She does wonderful swatches. Her perfume reviews are excellent, too.

Thank you! I had to do some research on indie makeup for my writing, so I wanted to try some new brands. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! 😉

Hi, Gorgeous boy! He looks a little bit like Lachlan (my nearly two year old grandson) when he wakes up from a sleep.

Haul: I have just found out that Huda Beauty is at Sephora Australia, so I am hoping to go down to Chadsone during the week, when it is less busy, to check out the Smokey Obsession palette. It is a real luxury to be able to find beauty items when they first appear on the US market.
Other than that, no beauty hauls this week.

Weekend plans: Saturday – cleaning the windows on the outside of our house in preparation for Christmas
Sunday – visiting my twin sister in hospital – she is back in there after having a really bad attack of diveriticulitis. She is much better now, but still in a lot of pain.

Album on Repeat: I really like listening to music when I am ironing – I am an ironing fanatic – love it. The album I generally have on repeat is The Best of Clannad – Irish folk group or Capercaillie – Scottish folk group.

Congratulations on voting in marriage equality! Divertic is no fun. No nuts, seeds, skins is the mantra. I have no idea who the group Capercaillie is, but I saw a REAL one on the Isle of Skye, and thought I was hallucinating, it was so big! Right by someone’s wash line. From a bus window, omg. One of the tops on my informal life list. Hope you like/get the Huda, and hope your twin fares well. Are you identical?

There were no suprises about the equal marriage vote as many in our country, including me, were supportive of it.
I also listen to Emmy Lou Harris and Linda Ronstadt – I have all their albums/dvd’s and love them to bits.
Capercaillie, the group, is named after the bird – it’s amazing that you have actually seen one.
Allison and I are not identical, but very close to each other and thank you for your kind wishes.

I am so sorry that your sister is getting hit again with diverticulitis, Genevieve! Gut disease is no picnic, that’s for sure. I will keep her and you in my thoughts, hope she gets better soon.

Oh no, hope your sister feels better soon! I have the Huda Smoky Obsessions palette, have only swatched it, but like the mix of warm/cool and matte/shimmers. It’s neutrals but with some interesting kicks!

Thanks Katherine, my sister is feeling a lot better now.
There are not many palettes that I am interested in at the moment due to the proliferation of red, orange and pink tones, but this one is right up my alley.
I am glad you like it because we seem to have the same preferences in eyeshadows.

Tiny Nars haul, just Deviant VLG and Thessalonique. CP: bigger bunch, some of it: What Went Down, Dusk to Dawn for wee hits of glitter, You Had Me at Hello, a bunch of matte and satin LLs. Liking Mama with blush Tulip to Quit and Snowfleek best. Still awaiting Zoeva. Going to use the S on small Commodity frags, Book and Moss, maybe one other. I lean towards unisex and men’s. Plans: gizzards (family word for south of the stomach) were way off, so ditched work today, which ought not to have. Working 3 day job settings can get complicated, but i’m lucky to have a job in my field at all at my age. Night job S/S. More courses for recert, when I feel up to it. Patticake had a setback. When I took off her vest at midnight, I found a chafed open area, which engendered lots of wound care supplies in the AM. Well, current practice guidelines suggest wound wash and atbx, open to air. Bandaging can trap an infection. Thank god she doesn’t get after it. No cone! I was surprised she did not complain, but she was flipping, and keeping the wound side down, so this Stupida just kept ranging and stretching the leg, to make it worse. I decided she can sit in my lap WITHOUT VET CLEARANCE. So, there is now an additional layer of care, temps, etc. I just cannot see her needing the strict crate bit. She just wants to be out with us. And if she lies still, no harm, no foul. Her new appt is the 20th, and it’s too cold for the stroller, esp with no sweaters. Playing, well, just the local npr classical station, and NO music, bec i’m watching Treme. I love the Mardi Gras Indian music so much, but have wondered of late that no one calls that cultural appropriation. If anyone wants a taste, I suspect there’s a a YT of the Wild Tchoupitoulas. The Big Chief’s hand sewn costumes make a Vegas showgirl outfits look like Filene’s Basement. Now, i’ve not only dated, but located myself.

Poor, poor Patticake! That sweet little love has been through so many things already, and now, what sounds like the equivalent of a bedsore. I’ll be hoping and praying for her to have a speedy, and much deserved, full recovery!
And: FILENE’S BASEMENT!! ?? I loved that place when I lived back in NJ! Annie Sez, too, was another big East Coast fave of mine.

I bought way too much this week…

Haul: from Ulta: Anastasia prism, sleek highlighter palette (I bought into the hype but I think for a drugstore highlighter it’s one of the better ones out there), colourpop hippo highlighter (so beautiful), colourpop Chi lip liner (too dark for my fair skin), a couple of colourpop brushes. From Sephora: a mustard color sephora single shadow and a khaki color single shadow (shows up just green than khaki, disappointed), murad brightening set, and ole henriksen mortifying set.

Weekend plans: time to video chat with my boyfriend on the other side of the country! Other than that, I’ll study for finals.

Album on repeat: just some good ole Chopin and Schumann.

From the CCO
Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Toner
MAC Cream Highlighter in she’ll
MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Sea Worship

Weekend plans: set up my Christmas tree

Album on repeat: Pearl Jam Rearview Greatest Hits and Nirvana Icon Series. I mostly listen to alternative music?

Haul: My mother-in-law bought me a limited edition Givenchy Framboise Velours lipstick…my first Givenchy makeup product!!!

Weekend plans: Chores, catch up on Outlander

I don’t have any specific albums on repeat these days. I have been listening to random mixes of different genres.

Haul: I got my 24 MUFE eyeshadows from their sale. I kinda want overboard when I heard they were changing the formula. I also used my Sephora coupon to purchase a large bottle of YSL Mon Paris and got the Nars 500 point set. I have Orgasm blush so I’ll leave the little one in my desk at work. I’ve never tried Laguna.

Weekend plans: Nothing which I’m really looking forward to, lol.

Music on repeat: 2 Amy Grant Christmas CDs and one by Casting Crowns, Peace on Earth. Love all three and have been known to listen to them year round. ???

Haul: Bare Minerals Ready 8.0 Posh Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette… It was the replacement for the 10/$10 eyeshadow deal that ran out. It’s nice, not my favorite. I’m still playing around with different looks.

Weekend plans: Eye doctor appointment and cleaning

What album do you have on repeat these days? Eh, nothing.

Haul: ABH Modern Renaissance palette, Clinique Lipstick in Berry Pop, Tarte Tartlette in Bloom palette, Urban Decay Vice lipsticks in Hex and Notorious, OPI DS Mystery, Essie Life of the Party, Ciate Pecan Pie, Estee Lauder Sumptuous mascara, NYX Love in Romance palette, Cargo eye-shadow in Mojave.

Weekend plans: Try to get more soap orders in (I make and sell soaps), and get the tree up.

Album on repeat?: Enigma’s 1990 album, MCMXC a.D.

Haul: I picked up Chanel’s new cream eyeshadow from the holiday collection. Kind of bronzey taupe called “Silver Screen.”
Weekend plans: I’m working all weekend and finishing up the last of the essays for finals week! Ugh. Why did I decide to get a second bachelors even before starting medical school??
