Rose Rave

Fenty Beauty Rose Rave Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond VeilFenty Beauty Rose Rave Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) has a translucent base chocked full of very pale, slightly warmer-toned pink, cooler, mid-tone pink, and gold sparkle. It delivered moderate shine and a noticeably glittering effect, and it looked its best when layered over a blush or bronzer (to give it more contrast against one’s skin). It had more translucent coverage, as designed, and it was primarily coverage in the form of sparkle.

The formula has a more sponge-like feel, so it can be leave fingerprint depressions behind if one presses hard enough. The dome has a smooth, lightly emollient feel to it, but it has more of a lightweight, thin, and a bit powder-like consistency once it comes into contact with skin. It applied best using fingertips, which applied product more evenly and kept it more blendable compared to a brush. It lasted for eight hours but had some stray sparkles that had moved over time.

I was seriously hoping that these would give that wet skin effect the way their white one has been noted to do. I’m just not seeing it with these two newer shades.

I got the other new shade yesterday and at first it was not swatching like How Many Karats. But once I built it up quite a bit it gives the same wet effect, but you have to build it up quite a bit to achieve it unfortunately. On the plus side it is completely invisible on the skin when light isnt hitting it the same way How Many Karats is, so if you don’t mind having to build it up so much you can still get the same effect. I don’t know about this shade though as I only got the other one.

I love the sparkle effect as the glitter is not too chunky and the product melts into the skin, but the pink just doesn’t come through for me at all. Its so pink in the pan then almost nothing on the skin. This may be a plus for some people but I was wanting more colour to the highlight. Still nice just not wow for me.

If I were in the market for more highlighters, I would likely pick this one up. It is pale enough to work for me but I seriously have more highlighters than I will ever use in my lifetime. It would need to be something really unique and exemplary performance.

The product looks quite pink in the pan (almost a blush shade) but in the swatch it was definitely very, very pale and unobtrusive – if that was the effect you were going for. Not quite sure about the sparkle and the formula. I think this is one of those products where you just have to see and swatch for yourself.
