What are your favorite new beauty brands?
What are your favorite new beauty brands? (Say within the past two or three years!)
Cult Nails is the first one that I came to mind–I think it started within the past three years–and it’s just such an amazing, well-thought-out brand with excellent quality and a nice offering of shades.
Thanks to Eve for today’s question! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
There’s a South African skin care brand that I absolutely adore called ‘Hey Gorgeous’ they make beautiful products.
For makeup I love Sleek (not sure how old they are)
Makeup Geek. I’ve been pretty impressed so far! 🙂
While it’s not THAT new, I’m in love with Femme Fatale Cosmetics! They make some of my favorite loose eyeshadows. Love that samples ship free worldwide as well.
I’m loving Indie brands lately. Fyrinnae, Mad Minerals and Meow Cosmetics are my favourites for mineral eyeshadows and my last haul of nail polishes were KB Shimmers. The Indie brands that I’ve tried all have unique products and the quality is great across the board, which is more than I can say for the big companies.
The Balm!!! Such amazing eyeshadows and blushes that show up on my skin!!!
Kevyn Aucoin and Manic Panic 🙂
From the last three years I don’t know. But in the newer brands I like Obsessive compulsive cosmetics a lot and RMS beauty
I don’t know how new the brand is, but lately I have been crushing on La Femme cosmetics. I saw people raving about their blushes on Youtube. Now, I have their blushes, eye shadows and lipsticks.
I second your love for La Femme Blushes! They’ve pretty much replaced all other blushes in my collection. Because of my satisfaction with these blushes, I don’t even buy blush anymore.
Melt Cosmetics are pretty awesome!
Hmm, I don’t think I’ve really tried any super new brands. I guess Sugarpill might be the newest (and I do love their eyeshadows- a lot), or maybe Real Techniques? I quite like Illamasqua as well but I think they just turned 5!
I can’t think of any “new” brands, probably because (a) I live in Canada and (b) I am not one for buying things online, which really limits access to new brands. The “newest” brand for me was Tarina Tarantino! I guess Makeup Geek might be my choice except that, as I say, I don’t tend to order without seeing first and also, I cannot lot in to that site – I’ve been in touch with them, cleared my caches and cookies, etc. and still am told that my log on or password are invalid!
Does OCC still count as new? 🙂
Definitely Julep! And they have finally started coming out with makeup now.
I’ve used a few lippies, liners and polish from Marc Jacobs new line that I really, really liked. Heart Shaped Lust for Lacquer is the lippie I reach for most these days and I’m not much of a gloss gal at all. I just love the formula. I’m not too sure how long Lit Cosmetics have been around but after your reviews I feel like I need EVERY SINGLE GLITTER! They are so pretty! Makes me want to build up a collection just to toss glitter on everything LOL
Sugarpill! Hands down. They’re 3 or 4, aren’t they?
I am really loving Authority Cosmetics lately, they have super pigmented nail polishes with a great formula!
These are new to me within the last two years:
OCC – love lip tars and a couple of their loose powder shadows are in my heavy rotation bin.
MUD – devoted to their corrector palette and use BC1, BC2 and RC2 daily.
At the moment Lush, Urban Decay and YSL. But it changes all the time!
I’ve really been loving Tarte and Hourglass! Tarte- I’ve been buying more they are good for you products with amazing quality. I love their eye cream, lights camera lashes mascara, blush, their eyeshadow palettes for the holidays are great too, tinted BB primer all great and have become staples in my collection. Hourglass- Love their ambient lighting powders I have 3 so far, love their new nude lip crayons I have 2 already and their lip lacquers as well!
Tarte is new to me, and I am loving the palette I bought from Sephora and the liners I got. The liners go on smooth and creamy and the pigment is great. The shadows in the palette are buttery smooth and decently pigmented. I had a little bit of runny liner, but I’m not sure if it’s because my eyes started watering and I accidentally smeared it or because of the product itself. The glosses in the kit are mint smelling/tasting and I actually really liked that about them!
I’d have to say Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore. For some reason this brand doesn’t get a lot of love on youtube or even blogs for that matter but I think she did a great job with the brand! Also, I’d say Jane Cosmetics return is also quite awesome!
Where can you buy it? What product would you say stands out?
Japanese Brands….Three, Addiction, Majorca, Suqqu, Elegence….all of them advertised in Ichibankao.
I dont all of them…but want them all.
Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs. They’ve been my favorite designers for ages. I especially respect TF as an artist.
Tom Ford
It’ a weird thing, because in my country, there is no national make up business, and the brands I see as new are usually older.
If I have to say a brand, it would be Catrice, but still, it IS older. But it has come to our country semi-recently. I like it overall. Nice packaging, nice price-quality rate, good limited editions, fine colors…
Tarte! Their blushes are my HG blushes now. Love them!
I have to say Hourglass. I’ve never gotten anything from that line that I haven’t fallen in love with. Great quality and worth every cent.
