5 Must-Have Illamasqua Products
If I had to pick one product, Illamasqua’s Nail Varnish would be my very, very favorite, but I really like quite a few of their formulas. Their polishes wear exceptionally long on me (fourteen days with just minor tip wear) and come in a variety of shades.
- Illamasqua Velvet Blusher — long-wearing, highly pigmented cream-to-powder blush; can’t wait until they have more shades
- Illamasqua Nail Varnish — one of the best nail lacquers on the market; favorites include Obsess (pictured), Raindrops, Creator
- Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss — for really opaque lipgloss, this is a good bet! Love shades like Belladonna (pictured), Hermetic, Move
- Illamasqua Eyeshadow — they have a particularly lovely matte formula that’s richly pigmented, blendable, and soft; recommendations include Sadist (pictured), Burst, Fledgling
- Illamasqua Cream Blusher — cream blush with a lovely, natural finish and nice color payoff; one of my favorites is Seduce (pictured)
I LOVE their cream blush, I have Rude and Promise and they’re just gorgeous. A little goes a long way as they’re so pigmented.
Agreed!
Not the powder blushes?
Prefer their cream ones over their powder ones! 🙂
I have a significant amount of Illamasqua products in my stash and I tend towards more casual, natural makeup looks. I think that is what is so amazing about the label. You can go all out with colourful creativity or pare back to sleek and simple with their range. Some of my personal favs:
Powder blush: Naked Rose
Eyeshadow Quad: Neutral palette
Eyeshadows: two of my all time favourite eyeshadows are Illamasqua: Blink from the Empower palette is the most beautiful beige for crease or transition (very similar to MAC Kid which I think is d/c’d) and the single eyeshadow Feint which is a medium rosey brown and beautiful against my skin tones. In fact there is a whole range of similar rosy type neutrals: Forgiveness, Feint, Dizzy. I have and covet all three
Eyebrow powders are also excellent.
I do not wear Illamasqua lipstick because I find it really drying and have similar issues with NARS. I don’t know what it is, but both of these formulas create desert lips on me. I wish this wasn’t the case.
I love that you’re a big fan of the brand and still find plenty of ways to wear their products more casually!
Nail lacquer in Hemlock, Charisma, Jan (seriously underrated shade!! Looks amazing on pale neutral skin) and Nomad
Gleam cream and Hydro veil primer
Intense lipgloss in Hermetic, Belladonna, Boost and Mistress
Lipstick in Sangers, Test, Magnetism and Apocalips
Precision Ink in Wisdom and Havoc
Cream Pigment in Androgen, Delirium, and Mould
Velvet Blusher in peaked! and Cream blusher in Crushed
Foundation/concealer products are kind of average in quality, but they have a good variety of shades for ultra pale skin.
: D as you might be able to tell, I really love Illamasqua!
I don’t think I’ve heard of Jan… off to go look now!
I actually got it in a mystery box. I probably never would have picked it up on purpose, but I get so many compliments when I wear it 🙂
Hands down – it HAS to be the nail varnish. My favourite shade is Nomad. They do wear a lot better on me than most nail polishes and they are pigmented in the shades that count. They are more expensive than the average polish but it’s worth the money.
Nomad is so gorgeous!
Powder Blushes (Naked Rose, Tweak) and Skin Base
Great picks, Lauren!
loveee ILLAMASQUE 🙂 it is hard to get my hands on them but still i love the brand
my fav are –
Belladona gloss , pure pigments in ORE , Atomic lipstick .
I only have two cream blush but do love them a lot
and HUSSYYYYY and LOVERRR all time fav 😀
Ore is so pretty!
I have Noble which was a LE polish from last year. I think Sephora still carries it. It’s a turquoise, robin egg blue color. I took it along when I got a pedicure this past summer and the nail tech was really impressed with everything about it.
I remember Noble!!
The Hydra Veil is probably one of the best products I’ve bought all year. It’s a hybrid between a skincare product and primer and nothing keeps my makeup looking better longer. (I’ve tried Laura mercier, smash box, urban decay, nars, hourglass etc)
It’s a jelly texture that completely balances your skin and preps it for makeup, and I swear every girlfriend I’ve recommended it to regardless of skin type loves it!
Happy to hear Hydra Veil has done so well for you, Jaime! xo
Ooooh that cream blusher looks pretty amazing!
It is!
Love Illamasqua !
What are your favorite products?
I really wish my local Sephoras carried Illamasqua! All of their products look amazing and I love how unique the colors are. I heard the lipsticks are a bit drying but I really want to try Apocalips lol
Aww, hopefully someday they will!
I also love their nail polishes and the Neutral and Complement e/s palettes.
I like their eyeshadow palettes, too!
Christine, I’m obsessed with finding the nail varnish “Facet” ever since you reviewed it, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the USA. Any suggestions on how to get it? I covet it. A lot. 🙂
Am asking Illamasqua for you now!
Illamasqua confirmed that it’s available in-stores at Bloomingdale’s and should be online shortly!
Their Eyebrow Cakes are phenomenal!
Everyone raves about Anastasia’s brow powder, but after using this, I felt like Anastasia’s powder had very little pigmentation.
They are super pigmented, very long lasting, I never worry about my brows transferring, fading or smudging (unless I am touching them/napping…)
Everyone needs it!
Very interesting! Will have to check ’em out!
I get my Illamasqua off ASOS since the local stores don’t seem to carry it. I have their powder blusher in Hussy which I love (it lasts for ages), and their pencil in Elate which is a pure white good for the waterline.
I previously had their Matt Primer and I hate that it was so liquidy & had a sickeningly sweet vanilla scent.
I’m glad you were able to find a way to get Illamasqua, Samantha!
Bit of a late reply, but everyone should give their Cream Pigment a go sometime. It’s a truly versatile, multi-use product that can be used so many different ways anywhere on the face (or body). It’s richly pigmented and with an opaque matt finish in a very solid cream base. You can build up bold colour for eyes and lips, or you can use just the smallest amount for a more sheer and subtle eye or cheek colour (plus you can sheer the colour out even more by mixing it with a little balm, moisturiser or primer to further blend out the colour). It blends well and also builds up colour beautifully, and has some real lasting power. Plus the high pigmentation means a little goes a long way. I just wish their was a larger colour selection as it’s such a useful product.
