Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick has been relaunched in three finishes (creme, matte, and hi-lustre) with a slew of shades. I’m assessing whether I’ll purchase any additional shades, given the number of shades and the price point, but I did pick up seven of the matte shades and eight of the creme shades when Ulta had a 10x points promo on them (that’s basically 60% back). I also figured I could see how they performed, aside from that tricky 10-hour wear time they did claim… sigh. Waiting for a promo to try some of the Hi-Lustre shades — so hard because the prior formula was one of my favorites (for cream/hi-lustre)! Here are swatches of 15 shades 🙂

IF – and it’s a BIG IF – they had a creme formula dupe for MAC Craving, I’d be willing to bite the bullet and buy one (or two) tubes. My anxiety over finishing up my cache of Craving is growing! And I gave a tube away to a friend who admired my lipstick BEFORE I learned it was discontinued!

Have they named two different lipsticks Rebellious Rose, one creme and one matte?
I have a not all that old Rebellious Rose, and an old, but still going strong Insolent Plum, the latter a real favourite of mine.
It’ll be interesting to know if there are any real difference between the new ones and the old ones. I think EL has made really nice lipsticks and I hope these will be as good.

It’s a creme.
I like it a lot, it’s I think a lot like MAC Rebel another of my favourite lipsticks.
The one thing I dislike about MAC is that the keep DC-ing products I think should be kept, like another of my favs, Up the Amp.
The good thing with Estee Lauder must be that it’s available almost everywhere, so it shouldn’t be hard to check it out in person.

Oh, Helene, I SO agree about them discontinuing products that have been long time staples in their line (Blanc Type, Typographic, Phloof!, All That Glitters – which they seem to have brought back ATG recently but who knows for how long and how they’ve monkeyed with the formula – and so many other products including some of my fave lipsticks – not just Craving but also Full Fuchsia and a few others…GRRR). And they do this without any advance warning! GRRRR! I do have MAC Rebel which I don’t wear all that often (I’m getting up there in years and I’m quite pale and it can look a bit harsh on me). I just want to find some hidden supply of Craving somewhere – maybe a box that got missed when they were clearing it from the MAC stores!

I spent some time the other day going trough all lipstick colours on the web site. There were so many I don’t have, and I have a LOT of MAC lipsticks. There were also a lot missing, ones I have, that weren’t LE when I bought them. I may have missed a few clicking on all the little coloured dots, representing the colour of the lipstick, but I can’t have missed many.
I’m afraid to do this with eyeshadows, some of my all time favourites are from MAC.
Maybe you can contact MAC and ask if they happen to have and Craving left, or start a petition to bring it back. I’ll sign, I like Craving.
