Essence Be My Cosmolight Pure Nude Highlighter Review & Swatches

Be My Cosmolight
Essence Be My Cosmolight Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.99 for 0.23 oz.) is a pale green with strong, warm undertones and a shifting finish that went from minty green to greenish-gold. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, soft consistency that was a smidgen dusty in the pan but applied well to bare skin without sheering out too readily (but still diffused nicely along the edges for a seamless finish). It had a more metallic finish, though it could be applied at semi-sheer to medium coverage to get a more natural finish out of it. This shade stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

I love, love, LOVE Essence’s highlighters. My favorite highlighter of all time is an old $3 “cream to powder” that was exclusive to Target as far as I can tell (and is no longer stocked). After having tried and purchased Becca, Pat McGrath, CoverFx, etc I always come back to it and and happily surprised each time how perfect it applies and looks on my very pale skin.
Alas, as gorgeous as these powder highlighters are, they have silicones and can’t be used on my facial skin….but I still purchased it for collarbone/shoulder just because it’s so damn pretty and smooth.
Ps – anyone with pale skin who is weirded out by colored highlights really should give them a try. I find green and blue highlights to look almost ethereal on pale skin (and silver to be the most natural).
Your comment stirred a memory. When the Essence Nude highlighter was having its day on YouTube I went to Target to buy it. When I got home I realized I had purchased the wrong one so it got tossed in a drawer. I just now pulled it out and it is “Essence Soo Glow!” in “#10 Look on the Bright Side.” I just swatched it and am excited to wear it so thank you very much!
Yes, that’s it!! I bought so many of those when I first discovered it and went to replenish my stash last month and couldn’t find it on Target anymore. :/
Glad you like it too!! You’re officially the first person to ever know what product I’m talking about when I bring it up!
Very nice. I have Becca Golden Mint, which works well for me. Question, though: Becca Golden Mint is in the list of dupes above, but in the View All Dupes page, it’s absent. I guess that’s not a question, more of an observation.
Cosmolight looks fantastic on you! It does that same thing that these duochrome greenish highlighters do o me; they appear more as a cool-toned gold instead of blatant green. Cool how that works out, huh?
Don’t need another highlighter, but so good to know I could purchase this brand and have A quality products, thanks!
