Edward Bess Secret Affair Blush Extraordinaire

Edward Bess Secret Affair Blush Extraordinaire ($43.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “soft peach.” It’s a warm-toned, pink-tinged coral with a gold shimmer. Tom Ford Flush is slightly less pink, less shimmer. theBalm Don’t You Want Me is lighter. theBalm Frat Boy is pinker. Burberry Hibiscus is warmer. NARS Deep Throat is similar but more shimmered. MAC Supercontinental is slightly lighter. MAC Fleet Fast is darker. MAC Flaming Chic is pinker. Dior Pink Glow is more orange. Chanel Fleur de Lotus is more shimmery. Burberry Blossom is warmer. See comparison swatches.

Secret Affair has good color payoff that is buildable and blendable, so you can adjust the intensity depending on your preference and what suits a particular eye/lip combination. The texture is soft, very finely-milled, and smooth. It has a light golden shimmer that buffs into a very luminous sheen the more you blend it into the skin. It did not emphasize pores or the skin’s natural texture. It lasted eight hours well on me and had some minor, but noticeable, fading after nine hours of wear.

I have a feeling this is a silly question…but where could I purchase Edward Bess, Illamasqua, or Chanel? Does it have to be online if I don’t live near a Nordstrom?

Illamasqua is only sold at Sephora in the U.S. Chanel can be found at most major retailers like Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, etc. Edward Bess is most readily accessed at Sephora (online, not sure if it’s in-stores).

Love the close-up shot, Christine! You really should let your hair down more often. 🙂 I have most of the dupes listed, but still find it hard to resist pink-corals. They’re extremely flattering! I ordered this through a friend yesterday, can’t wait to receive it.

Really nice! Have TF Flush and at least 2 or 3 others that are very close. Still, if I were looking for a coral, I would definitely consider this well worth the buy.

Christine, can you tell us what you’re wearing on your lips? I LOVE that color and I’m not seeing it listed in the “What Makeup Are You Wearing” section. Thanks so much!

I have Tarte Tipsy, and also EL Wild Sunset. Do you know how it compares to them? That lip/cheek combo is fabulous on you!!

EB’s Secret Affair has been one of my faves since I bought it a couple of months ago. I never thought to pair it with Chanel Rouge Coco in Pygmalion but you can guess what I’ll be wearing tomorrow!

HI! Sorry if it’s already posted, but I couldn’t find it anywhere – what’s the lipstick you’re wearing here? 🙂 Thanks!

I do prefer the softer, denser texture of Burberry’s blushes – but I prefer that texture overall (for any powder products). It’s purely a personal preference, though!
