I try to wear a variety of colors, too, but it’s easy to get stuck in a routine. Especially when you find a product you really really like. For example right now I’m loving the Naked palette and have been doing a ton of neutral looks. I need to bring some color into my life again!

Variety! Variety! Variety! I don’t let myself use the same shades/palettes more than once a week. I keep buying and buying but never adequately use anything!

But when I’m feeling uninspired, it’s my Wet n Wild Night Elf palette it is–antique goldish taupe on the lid with the burgundy green duochrome in the crease. Physician’s Formula Happy Booster blush in Natural with whatever lipgloss I’m feeling!

I basically stick with my same neutrals. They may be a shade darker or brighter but that’s about it. My job and life prohibits me from going too crazy with color. Boring, I know but I love what I do. My performance should stand out, not my makeup.

I gravitate towards browns, purples and greys for eyes and soft pinks for lips. Luckily I have a lot of makeup so even though I mostly wear only those colours I have a lot of variety of products that fit that description. Apart from a few staples I try not to wear the same products more than once in a week.

Well since I’m in school to become a chef, I cannot wear any makeup other than face powder and the like for school. But other than that, I tend to create the same copper & bronze eye look everyday. I have thousands of dollars worth of products and I barely use things more than a handful of times. It’s so bad… The coveted Alice & Wonderland palette by UD has only been used once. All this product is just build up in the bathroom. Does anyone else just buy things because they feel the need to have them? For no reason other than “I don’t have this one”?

i try to wear a variety of colors especially since i have a blog and like to do “Look of the Day,” but on days when I don’t want to stand out (at school), i lean toward more neutral shadows or just stick with black eyeliner and maybe a stand-out lip instead. i have tried just about every color of shadow under the sun except for RED. 🙂

Monday to Friday i use to go on neutral colors, soft pinks, beiges, browns, black…
But at weekends i put some colors! I love blue, green, yellow purple and oranges!
Depends a lot where i go, and my husband mood XD

I love combining colors, colors are my fav visual tools so I don’t stop at corals and browns. I always try to find fun and unusual but matching color combinations with my outfit.

I love playing with new colour combos! But if I’m in a rush or going somewhere special, I’ll go back to a look I know works. Right now my go-to look is a blend of the brown and pink matte neutrals in my Tarte treasure chest palette, Korres mango lipstick in Natural Purple, and MAC Cubic blush.

I tend to stick with my Guerlain quad (441 Brun modoré)and my YSL pour shine(16 Bohemia rose), because I really don’t have time to try something new in the morning.

I used to be a neutrals girl, but once I tried a flash of color in the corner of my eye (MAC Suave Intentions) I got hooked on adding more and more color to the mix. I love deep teal eyes done in a 1920’s heavy lid! Looks mahvelous!

For the color shy, try pops of “safe” colors first; pinks, burgundy’s and purples are the easiest colors to use. A bit of burgundy in the crease or a more vibrant pink in your inner corner or a bit of purple at the outer V can all make your routine brown eyeshadow work much better for you. Just saying….

For the most part, I gravitate to neutrals with pink, rose or red lips and cheeks. Nudes, browns and corals don’t suit me much at all. I do try to vary my neutral eye shadows now and then with a few more outrageous colours (She Who Dares, UD’s BOS III and Too Faced’s Enchanted Glamourland all live in my makeup collection and get used from time to time) but it’s not really something I’m very comfortable with, nor does it really suit my lifestyle.

I try to wear variety…but recently I cant stop wearing sugarpill dollipop in the crease with poison plum to deepen or to cut the crease, with any colour on the lid

Virginia Avatar

I basically stick with the same colors, (Naked Lunch & Buck and Virgin from the UD Naked Palette)
because I really like the way it looks. I have tried to use variety.. I sometimes do if I’m feeling creative (:

Catherine Avatar

I try to wear a lot of color but at some point, you know what looks good on you and what doesnt or need that extra work to do. And lets be honest, when youre up at 6AM to go to work à 7:30AM, neutral colors are so much more easier and i can do my makeup with my eyes half close and im almost sure it will look good 🙂
Makeup is like purses, I have my “summer” makeup and my “winter” makeup and THANKS GOD it is FINALLY spring here (Québec, we had a snow storm yesterday, april 21st)

Bekka Avatar

I used to shake it up very, very regularly… but I’ve found myself in a sort of neutrals-only rut, thanks to work. They rather frown upon anything with colour, heh. I definitely have fun experimenting on my days off, though.

Rosie Avatar

I vary it for sure but I do get in a week kind of mode sometimes. Like this week I’ll be summer glitzy (but the sun hasn’t been out so it’s sad) and then really bold the next week and so I may use some of the same products like bases or one color that seems to transfer or a glitter that I really like that week. But mostly it’s varying in the eyes and lips. It’s the cheeks that sometimes stay coral a lot but that varies in products too.

Monique Avatar

I tend to wear very neutral colors during the week when I’m at work but on the weekend I love to switch it up and wear bright colors or very dramatic looks. I try to change as much as I possibly can.

I also think im picking out something different. “Oh I have nothing like this peachy pink gloss!” Get home and oops its an exact dupe of every shade I own!!! Anyone else have this problem lol

Yazmin Avatar

It depends if i have work early. If i know i only have twenty minutes to do my entire makeup, its the same old products again. But if i have time to do my makeup then i try and use a variety,

Niki Avatar

I am a neutral kind of gal but I don’t wear the same eyeshadow color with in a 3-4 week period – I guess this means I have a lot of browns/bronzes/beiges/plums/purple eyeshadows.

Lakitha Avatar

Yes. I love a variety of colors. I like to do my makeup according to my mood. I try to keep a little more simple for the workplace, but I love to glam it up for the club and weekends.

Elisabeth Avatar

Until recently my makeup collection was so limited (and, to be honest, so were my application skills) that I kept it very safe, with neutral eyes and light glossy lips. Lately I’ve made a concerted effort to learn more about application and color selection, so I’m experimenting with more varied looks. I discovered my coloring is actually fairly neutral, and that I can wear more colors than I gave myself credit for! Previously I thought that with my fair skin I couldn’t wear any but the most subtle colors, so that’s been a pleasant surprise.

Sherrie Baldwin Avatar

The makeup I choose always depends on my mood. And I don’t know why……but sometimes I just have a problem getting it all on right…….time of the month I guess.

Julia Avatar

In a perfect world (the kind where I can actually get up and have time to play with my make-up before work), I would switch up my colors a bit. But being that I am always running late in the morning I tend to just reach for my naked palette or MAC neutrals. I love bright color but work in a conservative industry so unfortunately it’s weekend only…:(

Mel Avatar

I’ve pretty much got the rainbow covered in my stash, but I constantly reach for the same browns, bronzes, coppers, and the like. I need to get braver:)
