Do you keep track of what makeup you've worn or put together?
Yes, I do, since I end up posting as a “look” here or so I know what I tested in a particular set of photos! In a non-blogging dream land, I don’t think I would keep track as much – maybe if there was a really excellent look or combo but not everyday.
I keep track of what makeup I have used for the week, what I have purchased and selfies of makeup worn on Snupps
I do my weekly “Favorite Look Worn” for Temptalia in a document on my computer and save them all by date. I don’t keep track of my daily office makeup because it is pretty much a variation of the same few eye/face products with the lipstick being the only thing that’s always different. A couple years ago, I created a book to record my looks and how well they wore throughout the day, but I got lazy with it and never really used it past the first few days.
For some look I really wish I did. Otherwise, my goal is to try to use the products in my giant stash!
Yes I do on a limited basis. If there’s an eye makeup combination that I particularly like, I put the various brands/colors used in a spreadsheet so I can easily recreate the look when I’m in a hurry.
No; a big part of the “fun” is trying new things. Also, I pretty much work out of one palette at a time, but if I do pull in a transition shade, it’s almost always the same brand, so there’s not much to remember. That said, when it comes to foundation, I do try to remember what products/tools work best together. For example, with my current skincare, I’m finding powder foundation works best, and some products work best with specific tools.
If I am doing my makeup for a performance, and I know I’m going to do the same routine again, then yes. If I do a look and I decide I really enjoyed it b/c it was super pretty or b/c it was so easy, then I’ll try to remember it. Generally, no.
Yesterday, I was playing with my PMG Mothership II palette and I really liked it, so I recreated it today. I actually placed a shimmer in my crease, and I didn’t hate it, I actually really like it. I try to remember things like that b/c it shows me that I can get outside of my box and create something nice. I am definitely going to play around and try to recreate this again with different palettes and shimmers.
Sometimes! Like if I’ve put together a particularly stunning or at least interesting look, then I will try to. My more basic go-to looks are pretty much memorized, so those I just know what I’ll be reaching for as if I’m on autopilot.
I have a spreadsheet that I track all my products on (skin, hair, makeup, perfume), and a tab on there where I track what I’ve used per day.
Yes! I made a template on my computer and I fill it out whenever I do a new look that looks really cohesive – I do this for everyday looks as well as special event looks. I get make overs twice a year from my favorite MAC artist and I write those looks down as well. I’m a little more confident about creating color combos on my own than I used to be but I still like having a catalog that I can reference that is tailor made for my skin tone and coloring.
Nope I don’t. I just go with the flow and try and use different eye products to suit what I am wearing.
Yes! A smartphone app called “Snupps” makes it very easy to do!
No I just like playing with what I feel like in the moment. The other night I wanted to do a softer look. I used a very soft goldish brown eyeliner on my lower lash line then just used a pale pink eyeshadow on my mobile lid and blown out over my hooded eyelids. My husband kept asking me if I was feeling ok all night lol! It was too washed out for my coloring, he thought I was coming down with something. If I had used a darker brown eyeliner it would have balanced it out better, but I like to play sometimes.
Most of the times yes, because I take many selfies for Instagram (or just for me) 😉 But I’m not a big fan of recreating the same look that I already did on myself, so I’m not taking any notes 😉
Sadly I rarely do this for myself (though I keep saying I will). I only keep track of when I do a bride.
