I still have the old formula Bare Minerals powder to cream foundation. It’s nothing out if the ordinary, but it’s more coverage and a better finish than my tinted moisturizer that I use day-to-day.

I wish the Parure Gold shades matched me better because I love the finish on this one for formal wear. It hits just the right level of matte and yet not dull and powdery looking.

Which takes me to D&G Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation. I think this one also have a sophisticated finish. I do not save this foundation for special wear, but it is the one I grab for going out for fine dine, etc.

The worst part is that I have tried Perfection Lumiere and it is NOT a substitute. It does not wear as long and is a bit gummier along the lines of a Nars foundation. Mat Lumiere also has a reflective quality that Perfection Lumiere lacks. The Mat has a drier, more velvety finish that glows from within. The lightest shade is gone but the others are still available if you want to get backups before it disappears forever.

Wearing foundation out of the house at all is pretty special for me! Recently I’ve been using Lancôme Teint Miracle in Ivoire 1N…still not my HG though; I haven’t experimented much with foundation.

Probably PRO Lumiere, which I bought backups of when Chanel discontinued it in one of the most bonehead moves I’ve seen a company do since some jarkarse decided to get rid of Dragon… who was that again? Oh yeah… LOL

Shiseido, I think it’s called balancing foundation? It’s the fullest-coverage, smoothest and most pricey foundation I own so I save it for winter and times I want to look my best!

Not currently but I am considering moving my Studio Fix Fluid (which I LOVE) to the realm of night out/special occasion foundation – mainly because I’m keen to try Face & Body Foundation!

Yes, when I’m going out in the evening and want to wear full face then yes I use Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup for Face and Body. I add a few drops of the foundation to a luminzer to add a bit of glow.

Shiseido Perfect Refining for me. It’s sadly not hydrating enough for me to wear every day, but I love the barely visible coverage and the semi-matte finish, so I’m more likely to use it for a special occasion. Plus, it comes in a tiny plastic bottle which makes it easy to toss into the smallest of purses for touch-ups if it’s a long event like a wedding.

If I want a dewier look, I just stick to my everyday staple, Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish.

” Lingerie de Peau ” but I don’t wear any foundation ( too hard to remove, irritates the skin if used on a daily basis ), but I do love Lingerie de Peau, I don’t know if it still exists by the way.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere, but I have to make sure my skin is hydrated, it emphasizes any dry spots. It’s one of the few foundations out that I don’t have to mix two colors to match my skin tone.

Maybe NARS sheer glow with Mac msfn on top! It’s very glowy and photographs very well! That being said, I don’t only wear it exclusively for special occasions, I’m just more likely to wear it.

i have two that are not so fancy but i feel like they are better which are the MAC studio fix fluid (my most expensive) and also the revlon colorstay foundation which i can trust like no other. they are not chanel or guerlain but its what i can afford at the moment.

Hm, no HG, but I do like the Dior Forever foundation. I will definately break out primer for a special occasion though. It really does help give any foundation a smoother finish, but I don’t feel the need to wear everyday.

No, I don’t. I used to wear MUFE HD but it just looks so heavy and cakey compared to the bb cream i’m currently obsessed with. Thinking about trying the urban decay naked.

Jillian Avatar

I don’t wear face makeup on a day-to-day basis, but I’ll wear it on special occasions. Right now it’s MUFE HD – I love how natural it looks and feels when I wear it, so it’s my go-to for special occasions.

Lumiere Luminesce foundation. I use it for any kind of performance, whether it be on stage or in front of a camera. It gives me fuller coverage, which is great under light. But for day to day wear, it cam be a bit heavy.

I don’t wear foundation *unless* it’s for a special occasion; I usually just go with a TM and/or powder, or most recently, Garnier BB Cream (I *love* this). When I do wear foundation, I go all out with primer, and my absolute favorite is Max Factor Pan Stik in Nude Ivory. Perfect color match, buildable, & light-weight, so it’s perfect.

Because I’ve found my holy grail foundation, I only use one for all occasions now: MUFE F&B. I love this stuff: it’s long wearing, lightweight, and extremely natural looking. I too used to be in love with MUFE HD, but tried F&B because I don’t really need the coverage HD provides. F&B is perfection in my opinion!

Chanel Perfection Lumiere – it’s the only actual liquid foundation I own. I do want to buy the Burberry velvet foundation, though, but I rarely wear a full face so wearing foundation at all that’s not a tinted moisturizer or powder foundation is rare for me. I love the finish of the Chanel, though. It looks great on me.

Terri Avatar

My daily foundation is Hourglass Immaculate, which is really a great foundation but I agree, the Parure Gold is my “dress-up” foundation. I actually learned about it here, so thanks for that!!!

Chasity Avatar

My lancome teint ultra, it’s too much coverage for me to wear daily and too matte but when i know i’m going to be partying a little extra and taking photos its perfect

Liz Avatar

Yep, I go for either MAC Pro Longwear because it really lasts and looks great in photos. Or I use Chanel Mat Lumiere, which also gives a very nice finish. However, I don’t reserve these for special occasions only, I will wear them during the week, in rotation with others.

Bobbi Brown foundation stick. It gives me what I call “model skin”. It has good coverage and a slightly glowy finish. Its also very longlasting. I wear it in cool beige for photographs because I photograph sickly pale when wearing foundations that “match” my skin. I’m probably warm ivory in winter, but it has a yellowish cast, so I’m still looking for my HG foundation for winter, but for summer I do like Bobbi Brown’s moisture rich in sand or cool beige, it’s sheerer than the stick. But for formal affairs the stick foundation is perfect.
