Disney's Ariel Part of Your World Eyeshadow Palette (by Sephora) Review, Photos, Swatches
Disney x Sephora Part of Your World Eyeshadow Palette
Disney x Sephora Part of Your World Eyeshadow Palette ($30.00 for 4 x 0.049 oz.) consists of four eyeshadows and is a limited edition palette available as part of the Disney and Sephora collaboration for The Little Mermaid (featuring Ariel). It comes in an off-white plastic palette with a scene from the movie (at least, presumably, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it!) on the cover in shades of blue to violet. Inside, there’s a full-sized mirror and two dual-ended brushes.
Who’s-It is described as a “glittering white.” It’s a semi-sheer, shimmery white with neutral-to-warm undertones. I wouldn’t describe it as glittery; perhaps sparkly but the shimmer seems finer than sparkle. I didn’t have any issues with fall out from this shade. There’s no shortage of shimmery white eyeshadows on the market, but a few of the closer dupes I found were: Disney Ball Gown, which was a touch cooler; MAC How to Marry, which is slightly more pigmented; and NARS Flowers 1 #1, which is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches (there are also several more similar shades that I pulled out).
What’s-It is described as a “matte clay grey.” It’s a soft, muted gray with a hint of brown and lavender. It had a matte finish, and it had good color payoff. The texture was soft without being powdery, and it was incredibly easy to apply and blend out on the skin. NARS Self Portrait 2 #3 is grayer, darker. MAC Parlor Smoke is darker. MAC Creative Whim is purpler. MAC Silver Gull is darker. MAC Silverwear is more shimmery. MAC Look at the Eyes is purpler. See comparison swatches.
Dinglehopper is described as an “iridescent light teal.” It is a semi-sheer, medium-dark green with a pearly sheen. It was a little dry, and I wasn’t able to really build up the color to true-to-pan intensity/color. Chanel Metamorphose #1 is cooler-toned. NARS Delphes #3 is warmer. MAC Lady Grey is less green. MAC Sweet & Sour #2 is more shimmery. Giorgio Armani Green Jacquard #2 is similar, slightly cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.
Snarfblat is described as a “violet with iridescent glitter.” It’s a medium-dark purple with cool undertones and subtle shimmer, plus a few bits and bobs of silver glitter. The glitter seemed to flake away rather quickly, and I really didn’t see it on the lid, or even underneath my lid during application or later on as I wore the eyeshadow (so if you wanted glitter, it really wasn’t present, and if you were nervous about it having glitter, rest easy). It had so-so color payoff but was a bit weak; it can be layered for slightly more intense payoff. Disney Sea Witch is more pigmented. MAC Warm & Smoky is similar. MAC Pink Union #2 is brighter. MAC Drawn to Drama is similar. MAC Dusty Desire is also similar. L’Oreal Perpetual Purple is darker. See comparison swatches.
Overall, the four-pan palette is decent but not as impressive as the larger Storylook palette. At the price point, if you were just looking to collect a single piece from the collection, I’d still opt for the mirror, and if you had more room in your budget, the Storylook palette. I didn’t encounter fall out issues, despite two shades being described as glittery, and the eyeshadows lasted well for eight hours but there were signs of fading and then subtle creasing after nine hours of wear. There is no specific release date yet, but it is expected sometime June or July online.

Apart from the dirty green shade none of these shades really speak to me.
I just love that they actually released a shade called ‘Dinglehopper.’
I give points for being an interesting quad nonetheless.
I think the gray shade is amazing, and I mean, how often will you see the name “SNARFBLAT”?
I’d be all for this palette if the violet shade wasn’t in there. I never seem to use that sort of shade on a regular basis.
I really like the color selection and the names. (A DINGLEHOPPER! *dazzled*) But these quads never seem to call my name. I think it’s the lack of payoff and I have so many similar colors. These would make great gifts, though.
I’ve pretty much got dupes for the 3 shades I would wear; Dinglehopper (what a great name!) isn’t a colour I like much but I think I could even find a near dupe for it as well so this is a pass for me (I actually do hear my wallet cheering from inside my purse!)
The names crack me up. I love the grey and purple, disappointed with the other tow.
Psst, there is a broken image for what I think is the Snarfblat swatch pic. 🙂
I really like all the shades except green one! Too bad we haven’t got Sephora(
I’m wondering why dinglehopper is a green shade, when in the movie a dinglehopper is a fork… which is silver. None of these shades really speak to me, so I’ll probably just end up getting the mirror and the big palette.
