Dior Undress High Fidelity Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Undress
Dior Undress High Fidelity Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, permanent eyeshadow palette with muted, mid-tone neutrals. One shade was darker, but the other four shades were quite light overall. It has a new formula that’s supposed to have “highly pigmented” color with “spectacular staying power.” While several of the other palettes were decent to good in quality, this one missed the mark as more shades were slightly dusty to powdery with sheerer coverage that did not wear as long.

Undress #1
Undress #1 is a very light peach with a pink shift. It had semi-sheer pigmentation with a drier, stiffer consistency. It seemed to have a strong white base, so it appeared a lot lighter swatched on my skin than it did in the pan. It wore well for six hours on me before fading.

Undress #2
Undress #2 is a light yellow with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied evenly but had a tendency to sheer out slightly due to the more powdery texture. This shade lasted for seven hours on me before fading.

Undress #3
Undress #3 is a light-medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had buildable pigmentation from medium to semi-opaque, and it applied fairly evenly to bare skin but would benefit from a primer. The consistency was smooth, silky, and finely-milled but was a bit dusty in the pan. I noticed it looked faded after seven hours of wear.

Undress #5
Undress #5 is a medium-dark brown with very subtle, golden micro-shimmer. On the lid, it ended up looking more matte than shimmery. It had good color payoff, and the eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out without issue on my lid. The texture was looser and more powdery in the pan, and there was a lot of excess product that got kicked up in the pan every time I touched my brush to this shade. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Too bad the quality sucks, it’s like a nice daytime palette that would suit so many!
I wish it was better!
Yikes, I’m squinting at the screen, can barely see some of the swatches. Such a shame, as these colors are so classic, could’ve been a go-to kit
I agree – I was surprised by the texture in this one!
Regardless of the low score it’s nice to see that these new quads have better color coordination and formulas. And they should, they are expensive!
Dior has a knack for good color combos on their eye palettes!
Not feeling this one nearly so much as that stunner from the other day (the name of which I totally forget). Too many flat looking and dupe-able shades.
Feel maybe? 🙂
Yes, that’s the one!
A bit too blah for me.
I could see why it would feel that way!
Love this…..an effortless palette for my pale skin. I don’t like working with shadows that are too pigmented. Too much time involved in being careful and then then still cleaning up when it gets out of control. This looks like something I could get on quickly and look polished when I’m in a hurry going to work. Yay!
That’s great! I hope it works for you, Dawn! 🙂
I guess they were bound to have one big *oops* of a palette, and this is definitely a hiccup compared to their other new ones. Too easy for me to dupe within my own stash with higher quality shadows. Pass.
Though you’d think this one would have been an easy one to do right!
Exactly. It seems strange that they nailed the purple palette, then goofed on light neutrals.
This would be a workhorse for me! IIt has everything I’d need for a basic look.
I need a matte cream shade,a matte transition, a matte crease, and deepener shade, for a palette to be a full one look palette.
I could pop this into my carry on, add two shimmery lid shades and be good to go!
I’m surprised you don’t have a custom palette made of exactly those shades!
I Have a medium z palette with all that in it. But I’m finding it too big/large for short trips!
I’m going on a 4 day trip, not this weekend, but the next. So Im going to put those main shades, and a blush pan, a bronzer pan and a highlight on the other half. If I’m still finding it too large, I might have to go for a small MUFE magnetic palette and see how that works!
Oh my, what happened here? Everything was going so well with Dior’s new quints and the brand had to go and put out this one! They should have stopped when they were ahead….
Insipid
Uninspiring
The colours just run into each other….
By the way Christine, I haven’t received your blog in my emails for the past two days. I’ve checked my junk mail folder too.
Hi Genevieve!
I’m not sure why you aren’t receiving – on my end, I am seeing them sent out and that a copy was sent to your email!
I have looked through all sections of my email – Focused and Other (a new feature of hotmail) and still haven’t received your blog, even now. I’ll ask my techie son when he comes home from work too.
Thanks for following this up Christine.
This looks a lot like that Buxom White Russian palette you reviewed the other day, Christine.
I hate when they put such dusty formulas in tiny palettes like this. After a few uses pretty much all the shades are mixed together in the palette to mud.
The palette looks lovely at first glance however the light shades are too light as you mentioned. Thanks for the review of the new palettes, Christine.
