Dior Transalantique Diorskin Nude Tan Golden Shimmer Powder ($58.00 for 0.22 oz.) is described as a “soft golden glow.” It’s a brightened, light-medium yellow gold with a frosted, metallic finish. Guerlain Terracotta Sun in the City Illuminating Powder (LE, $70.00) is darker. Chanel Mouche de Beaute Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is very similar. Bobbi Brown Gold (LE, $39.00) is yellower. Bobbi Brown 24 Karat (P, $42.00) is very similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It had very rich color payoff, and in a highlighter that’s as metallic/frosted as this, it makes it a little more difficult to apply as a little goes a long way–and more than a little is a recipe for emphasized pores. I applied this with a stippling brush (MAC’s 131) with a light hand along the tops of cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose, and I still felt like it slightly emphasized the texture of the area. It was quite reflective, though, that seemed to almost mitigate some of that emphasis that I saw when I looked closer in the mirror. The texture of the powder was soft, finely-milled, and smooth; it was also effortless to blend it out on the skin. When I wore it, the highlighter wore well for eight hours before starting to fade slightly.

I bought mine as soon as I saw it online for sale (the 20th), received it on the 26th, and now it’s gone! If it’s something that interests you, it’s a Saks’ exclusive, so you’ll have to track it down in-store.

So pretty it remind me of the Essence Metal Glam Highlighter Powder in 01 Gold Digger (but just a touch lighter) but that ones also LE. I wish they make it permanent. lol

I know how you feel! I notice a bit more these days, and I’m not AS willing to put up with it. Although, I will say that every time I passed a mirror, I felt a little like a bronzed mermaid emerging from the sea, LOL.

Hehe, I love that ‘a little bronzed mermaid’ 😀 so cute! But I know what you mean. On the one hand, I think it looks lovely, but then I’m like…maybe there’s a touch too much frost there for me. I guess it’s a moot point for me anyway, since we don’t have Saks, hehe!

I swatched this in store and thought it was too similar to Guerlain Sun in the City so i didnt buy it. Will you be doing a review of the nail polishes? Im really wanting the tan one in yaght but for $30 Im trying to resist! 🙂

I only bought the blue one, Sailor I think. Lots of stuff coming out, so I only picked up kind of one from each category, rather than everything!

I really loved the look of Sailor too, but it reminded me too much of MAC Double Trouble, which I have. I’d love to know how it really compares to MAC though. 🙂

I think it is so pretty but a bit frosty for my taste. I feel that the Laura Mercier matte radiance highlight does it so beautifully and it’s permanent!

I know it’s metallic and all that, but this looks gorgeous! And that rating(!) is too irresistible! Any word if it may still be available in other retailers?

Its definetly pretty and definetly luxurious, but i actually purchased about 3 highlighters in the month so im biting my tongue on wanting this one!

Oh gosh, this is so stunning. I’m a fiend for highlighters… I have a hoarding problem. Plus when I start applying one it’s hard to stop myself before I become a disco ball. This product could be deadly in my possession. Perhaps it’s better that I stay away 😉

Thought I’d love it but seeing the pics of it applied, it’s way too yellow/gold for my colouring. It also seems to make your pore look large, Christine (perhaps it’s just the photo or the lighting but your pores seem much “larger” than in many other photos.)

It definitely emphasizes pores slightly – at times, as you move, it reflects and doesn’t look at all emphasizing, but up close and dead-on, it can.

Wow, this is so, so beautiful in the pan. It wouldn’t flatter me and I could never justify the price, but I’m just floored by the gorgeous design!

I bought this as part of a mini Saks haul earlier this week. I was kicking myself because of the price tag but thought it looked gorgeous. Didn’t realize it was so in demand!

I was disappointed when I saw it’s a Saks exclusive when I saw the promo images, but now that i see it swatched I feel better not being able to get it. I had the impression it would be more of a matte powder.

Thanks for the review, Christine. I have just purchased this with boots points after noticing it instore and, of course, reading your review! Can you tell me if you think this is similar to Dior amber diamond highlighter (discontinued now I think…) ?

I totally missed this when it was released then saw swatches online and was really sad because by then it was sold out everywhere…but just a couple of weeks ago I found it at the Duty Free shop at Newark NJ airport! Yay!
