Dior Pink Happiness (729) DiorBlush Review, Photos, Swatches
Dior Pink Happiness (729) DiorBlush
If Happiness was a Color, Would It Be Pink?
Dior Pink Happiness (729) DiorBlush ($43.00 for 0.26 oz.) is a blush duo that features a matte side to yield color, and then a pearly side that provides the highlight/sheen. They can be used individually together, alone, or swirled together.
The matte side is a medium-dark pink with yellow undertones. Chanel Rose Intiale is very similar. MAC Subtle Breeze is a bit cooler-toned. The pearly side is a light-medium pink with yellow undertones and a pale gold shimmer-sheen. Chanel Pink Cloud is a touch warmer, lighter. MAC Flower Fantasy has a paler sheen. MAC Easy Manner is richer in color. Together, they create a medium (just on the light side of medium) pink with a hint of coral and a subtle sheen. The color reminded me of MAC Pet Me, though that is a bit more plum. Tarte Curious is brighter, more coral. theBalm Don’t You Want Me is similar.
If you’ve tried other blush duos by Dior, you’ll likely remember how soft, silky-smooth, and finely-milled the texture was. This duo is part of the same formula/range, but it has a different pattern that goes across it than the permanent shades. I’m not sure if they’re made/pressed differently, but this had a much firmer, stiffer texture that made achieving true-to-pan color payoff more difficult and blending less effortless. With the level of pigmentation, I think this is best suited for light to medium complexions, while darker skin tones may want to try before they buy. Pink Happiness wore for seven hours well but was noticeably faded along the edges after eight hours.

aw its such a shame, this is the one thing I was hoping to pick up from this collection!
I’m with you Megan. This was the only thing I wanted and now I’ll be skipping this whole collection.
If possible, I’d swatch it at a counter (I realize not everyone has this luxury), as it could be a dud. I remember Christine’s review of NARS Outlaw blush, yet I personally know people who bought it, and the texture & pigmentation were beautiful. I’m not downplaying Christine’s review, but if it were a product I was really interested in, I would need to try myself, if possible.
Oh man Christine! I loved the way this looked on you in previous reviews! I though for sure it was going to get an A and that this was going to be my first Dior blush… But with stiff and dry texture like that I’ll be waiting for something better come around.
Merry Christmas!
Definitely check out the dupes – a lot of those have wayyy better textures!
Merry Christmas!
You know, it’s probably better this was so bad. I’ve actually passed on three of the dupes you listed because I thought they were too pink for my olive NC30-35 skin tone. I have to remind myself, just because it looks beautiful on you, doesn’t mean it will suit me! Lol.
P.S. the NARS blush in Liberte that you didn’t like on you can look so natural and beautiful on me. I’ve been loving it this fall and your review is why I picked it up!
Oh, it’s a shame that the texture seems to be worse than the other Dior blushes. My favourite one in Pink In Love that came out last year. It’s a lovely colour.
I was just wondering why you haven’t done any other reviews for Dior blushes Christine? (Except for Vintage Pink nearly three years ago.) I’d love to see some swatches and thoughts from you.
Merry Christmas!
I don’t have any to review, sorry!
Oh, bummer. I did like the way this looked on you; I was hoping for a better grade. At least I own Rose Initiale!
I actually like the sheerness of this blush; I don’t normally go for a shade like this, as it can come off a bit unnatural if it’s *too* pigmented, but being on the sheer side, it just looks like a natural flush.
It’s an eyecatching product, it’s such a pretty bright color in the pan, but formula doesn’t sound impressive. It is a lovely shade on you though 🙂
Hi Christine, do you think that Benefit Dandelion is a similar colour? Thanks!
Dandelion is a lot lighter on me!
Random, but I like your earrings- you are so pretty!
Thanks, Danielle!
